Ludwig Goransson is taking over for Hans Zimmer on Nolan’s next films so this round table means a lot.
I hope je makes it
It sounds very nolan like with ludwigs score.
thats because hans is busy with dune
Bear McCreary>ludwig gurasson
Actually Hans Zimmer recommended Ludwig to Nolan for Tenet
Conversation was rushed along. Needed to be a one hour cut at least.
Roundtable Short Cuts
I agree; especially with channels like Joe Rogan's, it felt like they could've talked a lot more about creating movie scores.
Eniayo Ayoola podcast format would be amazing for this. I am a fan of these round tables but it’s unfortunate when the responses are so clearly edited down.
Thought your name was John Williams for a sec :)

im crying for Ludwig with Hanz Zimmer complementing him to his face.
Right. That's like such a pass-the-torch moment, I'd imagine. Ludwig is next up, for real.
@@PathPMusic Zimmer isn’t done yet though
@@bilalkahhaleh3403 He's absolutely not done.
Imagine being told your music makes sense by Hans Zimmer.
@@iandavid7730 I would've sunken to the floor immediately and ugly cried right there and then hahaha. What a surreal experience it would've been for him.
Imagine being told that your music is great
by Hanz Zimmer.

Fr, Hans is the GOAT.
I’m 110% sure Ludwig’s soul left the chat when Hans told him that
He doesn't even orchestrate himself
Fun fact: Zimmer is Nolan's music composer for long time, Nolan's new film Tenet is scored by Ludwig and starred by John David Washington who was star of Blackklasnman scored by Terence. How the universe connects us!! Nolanception🤯
That is just how jobs through connections work.
If you good in profession it should be
@aljanat5 lmao ok
Elizabeth bebicki was also in widows.
@aljanat5 How is it I see this guy claiming shit all over YT?
I love how Gorranson's did a very Zimmer-inspired ost for Tenet, but with his own modern taste and style, I think he really is one of the greatest new composers of our time
Agreed!
Because of Tenet, Black Panther, Mandalorian/Book of Boba Fett and Turning Red; I think it’s safe to say that he’s a legend now, almost to the same level as Hans Zimmer
@@dmann5938 and Oppenheimer now. Mindblowing!!
What score from Zimmer could u compare to Ludwig’s Tenet?
@@Landa8 inception, interstellar, blade runner 2049, the dark knight films

@@antona.1327 yes
Hans looks slightly jealous that the other two had so much prep time to score their projects and he doesn't always have that. He still produces beautiful music.
He did get it on Interstellar, I remember him saying that he worked on the music with the script and conversations with Nolan, in the score liner notes.
@@juanita-dark well, interstellar is his best work so makes sense
Hans Zimmer should just take over THR roundtables, he is a perfect interviewer and know how to talk to & with people
Totally.
So in that light, if you haven't yet, you should watch this nearly 2 hour video of him doing just that (with Ramin Djawadi & Ben Wallfisch among others):
ruclips.net/video/GDJeo67LqWA/видео.html&ab_channel=SpitfireAudio
Nolan is great interviewer too, check his interview wit edgar wright n hes good with the job
After winning the Golden Globe for best original score with Oppenheimer, Göransson has truly put himself among the greatest composers of all time. He is simply incredible
The diversity of the composers and the movies represented is really inspiring

@@TheProtagonist2020 just discovered him and he is amazing too and I will follow his work
Right!!! Hans is the greatest to ever do it AND he’s such a nice guy to listen to.
Yeah man. Hans is amazing
Interviewer needs to acknowledge what they finished saying before rudely moving onto the next composer
Its just how they do things in these interviews.😃
Just watch the other round tables
Youll get used to it
I don't think they get much time to do the interviews.
I think some of this is edited too. It felt like some was so abrupt it was clear it was a cut.
man oh man. the greatest of all times in one room. what an honor to be in this generation with the greats!
I like your vids
Nah. Not by far
greatest of all time?
@@niklaslachmann1038 lemme guess mozart? Right
Hans Zimmer is popular since the 2000s mostly, the other two are not from this group and Morricone, Williams and co. are not there
Hans Zimmer and Ludwig in one sitting thats amazing
That part of Black Panther when they fly into Wakanda the first time always makes me cry.
You are supposed to cry at that time becoz the song is about.
t chakas death
@puppiesinspace You're just trying to act cool by hating on popular shit.

puppiesinspace What in the absolute fuck are you talking about?? If you can’t appreciate the movie than it wasn’t for you period. Stop hating and downgrading it just because you cannot relate to the message that the movie was trying to send. Ludwig Goransson is gonna keep getting bigger. With Coogler.

He's doing tenet now
@@lamarclark2627 well, He only started collabing with Donald Glover because he was doing the score for Community, which Glover started in
Ludwig and Hans at the same table? Wow!
Hans Zimmer the LEGEND
The absolute greatest!
The Goat💫
i love these round tables, but not this one... i wish the moderator had let them talk instead of having to hit all of his questions, like when they are talking about how themes in their scores came to be, he just cuts them off to ask about their what they were listening at 17, like who cares, we are getting cool stories, and they are just cut off to ask a banal question.... more conversation and less Q&A
I'm in the middle of it and that's unfortunate to hear, because that's what I kind of felt after the 2nd question. it felt like he just wanted to make sure the questions got out, and not even connect with the moment. That's where the meat is, in the stories of legends like them. at some point with certain interviews, it's like, let the history run, especially if it has a clear flow of storytelling that's captivating. throw your questions away and let us relish, lol.
Yes, I noticed that. Ludwig was really engaged in talking about how his discovery of instruments in preproduction was pretty much shaping the actor's performances and character themes, and the interviewer kind of cut him off.
I honestly wish they'd had more time to discuss things and elaborate. Tbh, I felt sometimes the interviewer was disinterested unless it was a direct response to his question. lol, No tangents allowed - and it hurt the conversation between the composers some.
I'd love to see this conversarion every year!!!
Ludwig Goronsson is my favorite music composer. Because he uses the drums a lot and the drums is my favorite instrument
Terence Blanchard's Blut Und Boden (Blood and Soil)
for BlacKKKlansman is mesmerizing.
I love Ludwig Göransson's Killmonger theme for Black Panther.
I have not yet seen Widows, but Hans Zimmer's score for Sherlock Holmes was exhilarating!
Can you imagine if these 3 got together and created an album together? Man it would sound crazy.
Ludwig is already so successful and I only see him becoming more and more successful. He’s got a great career in front of him!
Hans & ludwig should collab on avatar 2 soundtrack in 2020.
Not.enough to.go.around even if they did, they would still need to keep it in the style of James Horner. So it would have been a waste.
What a great idea. In general the Collab thing should happen more often in the scoring world. A soundtrack by Zimmer and Goransson would be awesome.
Who's here after Oppenheimer thinking that Ludwig did an amazing job when everyone expected Hans??!!
hans casually breaking the ice at the beginning was just hilarious
I need this again! At least Ludwig and Hans in one room, with a camera and a mic in it. ❤
The end score of Blackkklansman was astounding
Why couldn't it be longer ? Like a real roundtable
So happy to see how eclectic film scoring has become. Classically trained, jazz, hiphop producers, guitar guys. Everyone has something to offer!
Now we need more ladies involved!!!
Johann Johannsson should have been here 🙁😢
I was just thinking that too. ): RIP
Indeed. That man only began getting recognition he deserved.
He was awesome RIP
Kids, don't do drugs!
Yessss
Ludwig deserves this recognition, happy for him!
Man of Steel soundtrack is one of my all time faves.
One of the best scores ever made.
That and Inception for me are my favourites from Zimmer. Another ost that stands out to me is the ost for X-Men 2 & Days of Future Past from John Ottman. Although Dark Phoenix was a so-so movie, Hans Zimmer made an awesome soundtrack for it
now all you need added to this room are Howard Shore, Alexandre Desplat, Thomas Newman, John Williams John Powell, Michael Danna, the list goes on
Hans is my all time favorite. Ludwig is a VERY close second tho 🙌 I haven’t heard much of Terence Blanchard but his BlacKKKlansman score is AWESOME
Hans is simply unparalleled!
You should check out Terence Blanchards Original Sin movie soundtrack it's awesome.
The interview that got Ludwig the gig to score Tenet, by insistence of Hans, telling Nolan 'that's your man right there' since Hans was busy and immersed with scoring 'Dune'
You mean Hans' Psychedelic Country Western Heavy Metal Album?
Black Klansman’s score was amazing
Can we ever get the whole hour? There's no way this is the only length.
imagine getting to tell people you make film scores for a living. one of the coolest jobs out there
Once I noticed Zimmer’s socks I couldn’t stop starting at them.
So I wasn't the only one then.
This roundtable is grossly underrated. Love it.
I love listening to creative artists talk.
I love these round tables. Totally mesmerizing and informative. Seeing musical geniuses shoot the shit is absolutely enthralling.
"Hunger" from Black Hawk Down still gives me chills with Baaba Maal's voice.
So much respect for these creative geniuses!!!
That score in Blackkklansman is so slick and smooth. It gives that 70s nostalgia. But my god It was reused sooooo much throughout the film.
That whole movie was honestly kind of shit and used the soundtrack terribly, BUT you're definitely right about that soundtrack being freaking awesome.
@@dancegod1691 yea even I thought it was pretty shitty. It was so tonally uneven and the soundtracks was used in the wrong places. The plot is good but Spike Lee's direction was terrible.
He actually used stuff from When the Levees Broke. Its so iconic if you know it ... so its weird to hear it another movie.
THANNNNNNNK YOOOOOUU FOR THIS CONTENT! Thank you.
thank you, wonderful content! gives a glimps where Hollywood has some artists with a pure heart
Hans Zimmer for “Widows” is just perfect.
It's so incredible the way they show so much respect for each other's work. These guys are legends. 😏✊
Now imagine Ennio Morricone And John Williams this would be 2x as epic
More Composer Talk! Love these THR.
I admire the work of these guys, but I would have loved to see Hildur Guðnadóttir in the conversation, not only because of her talent but also because rarely you see a woman win an Oscar in this category.
Never heard of her
Terence Blanchard and Hans Zimmer are my two favorite composers
YAAAAS! Blanchard on When the Levees Broke (which he used for Blackkklansman) makes me cry every time and Zimmer on Interception and Last Samurai gives me chills every time! Geniuses
But Ludwig is bc becoming my fave too...so the interview was perfection!
YES. Although, I wish this was a longer cut.
amazing film composers
Incredible artists and fantastic people!!!! 🤯🤯🤯🔥🔥🔥🔥
Sooooooooo much talent sitting at that table!
This is wonderful! I only wish it could be 10 times longer.
Legends... Hans Zimmer 🙏🙏
Real legends in the room. I love it 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Hans passing the Nolan torch to Ludwig.
Hopefully just lending him it, cause he's too busy scoring Dune. Zimmer and Nolan must never break up and especially not for Goransson. He can stay with Coogler.
@@KTK44 100000%
Hopefully not. Nothing comes close to Nolan & Zimmer’s collaboration.
Saw Terence Blanchard with the E Collective at the Blue Note in NY. It was amazing!

Man to be in that room to experience their genius #priceless
Hans and Nolan
Gorranson and Coogler
Terence and Spike
💯
This is so refreshing
Why is this so short Lol I could literally listen to them talking about music for hours
Ludwig should be nominated for Black Panther!!
He will be
He was!
Travis Spazz I agree it wasn’t a very good movie but the music was one redeeming quality
hes on the shortlist for the Oscars now :)
He is
3 legends in one room
If i was in this room, i wouldn't be able to say a single word. Legends!
Ludwig's theme music for Hasan Minhaj's Patriot Act IS SO INCREDIBLE im always wowed by it
He does that too? Holy shit, this guy is moving around a lot in the whole industry. Liked him for "creed", but a total fan since "awaken my love"
All that is missing is John Williams and Micheal Giacchino
Do they have films in competition this year??
@@Licaro1984 John Williams: Solo. Michael G: Incredibles 2, Jurassic World, and Bad Times.

John Williams only came up with the Han Solo theme. John Powell is the actual composer of Solo.
Alexandre Desplat with Isle of Dogs too
Coff coff Ennio Morricone...
Hanz es un genio humilde que sabe y tiene bien en claro cómo crear..gracias por este genial video, aprendo a hacer mi música gracias a ustedes.❤
Hans Zimmer is like RDJ in interviews
whos here after oppenheimer?
For the metaheads here, at the end Ludwig Göransson mentioned his metal backround. Considering his R&B/Hip-hop producer works, what metal band/subgenre would you like him to work on?
I'll say Enslaved, they are from Norway, hes from Sweden, Neighbor combo.
These people should do a round table again! We need more :)
The composer multiverse 🤩🤩🤩
I love the work these 3 do, but in these past years the Blackkklansman soundtrack was the one that stood out to me, it's so haunting and beautiful
Can’t believe the presenter had to “wrap up” the interview
I would go on for hours with them if I could
Hoping you get a full length round table too. Always enjoy these! Jonny Greenwood would be amazing but I know not everyone can get on this.
People who are always eager to learn, often become the best at what they do.
I like that Ludwig was Watching Star Wars and used it for inspiration when he was 17. Funny because He did the score for The Mandalorian which is a Live-Action Star Wars TV Show.
I love that theme. It’s so badass
When we get the full episodes of the other new roundtables?
LEGEND Hans Zimmer commitment about Ludwig soundtrack..... it's amazing.
That calls Mr Hans Zimmer is LEGEND.
I love Zimmer.
"that's because nobody came over" 😂

Blut Und Boden By Blanchard🖤Zimmer is already legend..
we need part 2 right nowwww
ugh this needs to be redone and then in a 1hour or 2hour interview!
Awesome!
This interviewer is one lucky guy
Well this should have been done without a time limit, and just let them talk amongst each other, the host doesn't have to butt in really, you can tell they're enthusiastic
anyone here after Oppenheimer
I never imagined that Terence Blanchard and Hanz Zimmer are real life homies. And then they’ve got the new blood here too. This was cool af
Hans Zimmer my favourite composer
