I used a Blue Alpha molle war belt, cost me ~$250 Australian (~$170 USD). Was comfy and held up well, I still wear the inner as an everyday belt. D-ring held up after I made the mistake of forgetting to unhitch my lanyard and went to rope out of the helo during a training exercise. Well worth the money. Edit: Commented before Israel covered it. Rock it Izzy!
I'm a cop (crime scene), and I recently replaced my issue duty belt with a Blue Force Gear CHLK Belt. It has eliminated the lower back pain I had been suffering from for years. It's a "hard" outer belt with velcro inner belt that is shaped to ride the hips below the small of the back. There's more to a good belt that a lot of loops and cool buckles. The CHLK is easy to move in (I'm bending down and moving a lot when processing a scene) and holds a lot of weight without shifting or needing constant adjustment. It has two attachment points rated at 3500lbs static load if I need to clip-in for safety (steep hillsides, working off of a FD ladder, etc.).
I have used the blue alpha for years and it has held up very well, only broke one molle because it got hooked on a chain link fence as I was jumping down. Still works fine
As a veteran, this is the kind of content I’ve been looking for. Stay away from politics (we get enough of that everywhere else) and you’ll have a new subscriber.
Great show Army! Go Airborne Rangers and green berets. I worked with your teams when I was a Marine recon sniper 1987 1991. I had Vietnam gear. All nylon web belt and suspenders. Plastic canteens. M14 mag pouches. My M12 nylon holster with my mag pouch. My K-Bar and compass pouch both suspenders harnesses. My rook sack and combat light. Old school boys! Hoorah and semfer Fi.
I got my molle belt from Amazon for $30. It works for what I got it for. Which was to basically be a trimmed down backpack. My main goal is to have almost everything in my pack, but around my waist instead of on my back. It's also easier to have under a poncho while it's raining. It obviously won't serve as an effective battle belt, but it works for me. Had it for over a year and no issues yet.
I've used the GBRS belt for almost a year now. It has held up great on various rotations: from maneuvering in the confined space of the 50 cal turret on the Humvee, to sprinting through the woods to find cover and concealment, it has held up. It is a bit hard to adjust and to add various attachments to, but that is by design. Once your equipment is on, it is going nowhere. I run a very basic setup on it: (from left hand along the belt to right hand) two rifle mags with pistol mags layered on the front (G-code Scorpions for both), a dump pouch (don't remember the brand), IFAK (BFG mini) CAT-T kydex sheath ( North American Rescue: didn't like rubber banding mine to my IFAK because it would get ripped off in the gunners hatch or when maneuvering through thick foliage), sidearm holster, and then a small admin pouch (multitool and/or whatever other small things to carry).
@@BlackIronGamer it's not so much of hating civies as it is catering to professionals before catering to civies whose primary jobs aren't kicking down doors. I’ve been using a Ferro Concepts Bison Belt for a while now and I’ve had zero problems with it. Definitely my favorite, and a good option for civilian training or professional use.
Completely agree, I do wish the outer belt adjustment was more secure/didn't loosen so easily (Skinny dude so I have to really cinch it down) but overall, I'm happy with it.
Another good choice is the Eagle Operator Gun Belt. Got both of mine for $120. Used one for 2 and a half years and it held up well. Sold it to a buddy since I was getting out of the Marine Corps and had another on hand that I still use
I actually use the vismix belt on my swat team kit. I've had it since 2019 and it has held up just fine. However I was a USMC 0351 and did two tours to Afghanistan. I think the vismix would probably make it through a deployment, but just one. Beyond that id say you'd have to change out the belt. Weve have guys on the swat team with RONIN's and Safelife belts and they are good belts for sure. My vismix works just fine for what we are doing on swat.
In my opinion, unless you need your belt to restrain you to something or rappel, or you need NIR compliant material, you could go with a cheap belt provided it has good velcro, good stitching, and of course actually hold your pants. Then later down the line you could upgrade the buckle for added security. A good lightweight yet sturdy belt is all you need
Not many of us are needing fall protection from the loop, but if some rare occasion hit where you found yourself needing to hook in, you can take it to a local seamstress provide them with kevlar thread and it isn't going anywhere. Adds about 30 bucks. The loops being too big as they described havent been an issue for me either.
Great video! All pretty good belts for their respective price ranges! A few other battle belts that are good are the Ferro Concepts Bison Belt, the AXL Advanced Eclipse, and the Trex Arms Orion.
I have been using this inner/outer type of system in law enforcement since 2003. I am surprised it took so long to catch on for tactical belts like these. When you start wearing a lot of heavy stuff on your belt for 12-16 hours a day, people will like the suspenders. My last few years in law enforcement we switched to an outer vest carrier, so I switched over to wearing suspenders on my belt again, only worn under my vest carrier. This felt so much better on my hips and back over the 12-16 hour days. I currently use a Condor battle belt and suspenders for my range belt. Even though I am retried from Army and as a LEO I still like to go to the range and practice with shoot and move, and quick reloads. I am glad I caught your video, first time watching one, I subscribed to your channel.
I was using the inner/outer velcro belt system in LE way back in the early 2000s. Not at all a new concept. Worked well then and works well now. Personally, of the belts reviewed, the 5.11 looked like the best value. That GBRS was ridiculously priced.
Ronin is fantastic. Probably my favorite belt though has been my Volund Gearworks duty belt with no D ring. Stormrider makes great belts also. I've been running my current Volund Gearworks duty belt for almost 2yrs (school protection officer) & it's been great. I'm not running or jumping very much at work but I am on my feet moving for 7hrs of my 8hr shifts. I definitely plan on sticking with Volund, Ronin, or Stormrider for my 2 piece molle style belts.
I’ve used the safelite Tactical belt for 2 years with no issues in 5.11 stryker pants. I like the fold over better than the friction loop as that looks flimsy and only an inch, loss of much rigidity. It’s not hard to align or push through more material around your body for a better clasp, or cut it and burn the end. I also have a T-Rex 🦖 arms battle belt thats laser cut and basically as configured on their site for the range. I don’t run with it, it’s more just to hold mags and a dump pouch, first aid, multi tool, holster. I liked the belt that had interior adjustment, that could be good for loaning to a student or something where there are people of different sizes needing to use a belt often.
kore essentials has micro adjustability on their battle belts. So much more comfortable throughout the day and easier to make adjustments as needed. Im surprised it didnt make this list.. and its only $140
I just went to a gi store and got a military issued battle belt for 15 bucks and it is probably the best battle belt i have ever seen. Love your videos guys hope to see more of you.
Im issued an Eagle Industries Operator Gunbelt thats pretty nice, and i also have a personal Safelife Tactical gunbelt that i actually prefer in most situations because the belt overall is more rigid and holds a lot of weight without deforming. Also we've been having issues across my unit with the Eagle inner belts wearing out and failing to keep the belt up after only a few months of use.
My eagle inner belt has been worn down pretty bad in 6-7 months of daily use, I love the Eagle operator belt but there’s for sure better inner belt options
This was really useful, I didn't even know MOLLE belts were a specific thing, but I got one for Christmas as a result of this and realizing how useful it would be. I went with one from Helikon Tex since I already have a load of their gear and find it decent and reliable. Haven't properly field tested it but I've attached some MOLLE pouches and they sit securely and comfortably so I'm hoping it will be useful for hiking, Airsoft etc.
As a civilian, I love my Ferro Concepts Bison Belt. I do wish the retention of the outer belt was a little more secure and didn't slip easily (I'm a skinny dude so I have to really cinch it down and run the excess under my mid-ride UBL). Besides that, it was a pain in the ass to web gear through the MOLLE so you know it isn't coming out or shifting, and it's rigid enough to get the job done but not extremely rigid like the Ronin.
Sub Second also makes a great belt. I have used all of the above mentioned belts, but I keep coming back to theirs. They have the stiffness of the Ronin, but easier to thread the MOLLE straps. They are made to order so you can have additional elastic loops put in for things like gloves, Nalgene, Tools etc. Y They can also sew in HK Loops to attach keys, gloves, eye/ear pro to. And they add in Pen loops too. Veteran owned and Operated. Good stuff!
I agree with the subsecond belts, I live not far from where they make them in Niceville Florida and seen how they make them! They really take pride in their products!
L.E.O. have used a similar version for years. I have my old “duty rig” that’s a lot like these. Awesome video, guys! I’m gonna pull the trigger on a new one.
Love cobra buckles. Only problem is threading them though normal belt loops. It can be done but it’s a PITA. The cummerbund style battle belt seem like they would be comfortable. I haven’t tried them out but you feel the weight a lot on your hips when you load these normal belts up.
DJ and Cole go over the GBRS belt set up in a video. DJ said they make that adjustment very tight through the buckle so it doesn't lose tension and needs to be adjusted when worn. So it was by design.
I got the GBRS belt and the outer belt it's more rigid than others while the inner one is super thin similar to other cheap variants but the velcro is a bit better quality. The price is way to high if you compare it with a practical shooting belt which is a lot more rigid, metal insertions etc. And yeah those are fake carbon straps but it does the job well nevertheless. It's hard to adjust and you need a tool to install stuff with a purpose. Being a small company it's somehow normal to have higher prices I guess. Shame it wasn't a Ferro Concepts belt in the video too. Anyway good job guys!
Would be really cool to see the AWS LAB belt reviewed. Word on the street is that they are the OEM for Ronin belts. People run a slick LAB belt no MOLLE and use one wrap to attach mag pouches and swear by that system or you can purchase MOLLE sections for ten bucks each and position them exactly where needed on the belt. The MOLLE sections are actually the true MOLLE spacing instead of the downsized spacing used on most MOLLE belts. Really cool system and starts outunder 70 bucks and made in USA. Also make the SMU belt which uses a proprietery composite MOLLE layer that's super low profile similar to the GBRS but priced like the BAG or 5.11's. AWS doesn't advertise alot so maybe that helps with the price. Also although they do all to the public they probably do most of their business with soldiers at Bragg where they are located in Fayetteville NC. Really informative review on the belts you guys went over . Always learn from your reviews and very helpful guidance.
AWS does stuff for Delta since the 70s. It's the most low key kept secret in the gear industry IMHO. The SMU belt was created after a request of said unit, and they're pretty happy with it. The company is small by today's industry standards but their quality and innovation goes way back to Vietnam.
I imagine that holsters come in quite the variety. My uncle let me wear his holster and belt when he took me out to shoot with some of his SWAT buddies. I can confidently say that I got to hip-fire a rifle IRL and it was awesome
Kinda random, but congrats. As for holsters, there is pretty much only one company people trust and that's Safariland, there are other companies that popped up to fill the void after Safariland switched to the IMP 7000 series and isn't as focused on expanding the 6000 series. Even if you include the other competitors you can probably count the companies worth buying from on both hands.
@@Osprey1994. Really hard to get a safariland for my Canik TP9sf Elite which is my duty gun. I had a holster made by a small company for work but their mold wasn’t right because my model has an extended slide lock/slide release than the other model
Imma say personally I like the look of the gbrs belt but Im not a fan of the performance. Ronin belt is where its at in my opinion but Im also excited to see the trex arms belt that comes out becuase everything Ive got from them from plate carriers to pouches has been stream lined and simple which is what I prefer.
Crye can't be beat my man. There's a reason they are issued to SOF. The ability to get your correct waist and length comes in super handy as well as the quality is bar none. I've had mine for a while now through various rotations and jumps, and there is still no sign of wear and tear.
@@Nimbus64 Crye is the gold standard, but there are definitely other options. For example UF Pro is really common in Europe, Patagonia is high end too, 5.11 is a popular budget brand, or even TMC as a good cheap replica option
@@pakman184 Have a buddy who runs UF Pro and is a fan of them and yeah patagucci has some nice stuff. Big fan of their windbreaker with the vented backpanel.
I bought a Krydex belt from Amazon to get my foot in the door and to use at the range/carbine classes. It's not bad for a beginner setup but after the class and a few range sessions I'm definitely going to upgrade. I'm running Esstac mag pouches and other similar accessory pouches so I want something comparible qualitywise. I've decided to go with a Raptor Tactical Odin Mk3. Unfortunately I have to order another one because I'm not as fat as I thought I was. Other than needing a smaller siize it's a great belt.
I have been using the Krydex one for about two years now. It’s decent for the money but it’s definitely time for an upgrade. Nothings wrong with it, I can just tell it’s mid quality and want something better.
@@roninskater1128 I highly recommend the Odin Mk3. Imho go with the 3 gun stiffness over the regular. I have the regular and will be getting the 3 gun soon.
For those that just want to train and need an affordable molle belt for your gear without breaking your wallet, check out Tacticon, a veteran owned company. I have one of their belts and I use it I'm teaching classes or training. I do have the Ronin Senshi belt as well, but that's for when the music stops. Your average Joe is trying to save some money without sacrificing quality. I'm not a spokesperson for Tacticon. I just love the fact that their belt is $40 and yet it punches way above it's weight.
I never thought of getting a belt to carry stuff on it. I can see how secure the belt is to your waist plus the weight saving from your best. I will be getting one soon.
As just an airsoft larper I love these types of videos as it helps me look at the gear that I want, I bought GBRS's Hydra Mount yesterday because I have issues getting good comfortable sight picture with my current riser, hoping that'll ease up my stance a little. Might go for their battlebelt now as well, it looks very reliable.
Not in the military or law enforcement scene but this was helpful. Just want something to take a couple of classes with and to have because it's cool. Helpful video!
I love the blue alpha belt except for the $248 price tag. But that’s the belt with 2 tie in loops. However I’ve been wear the actreyx leaf H-150. It’s a great belt plus it’s a harness belt with a simple loop and D ring setup
I have a ferro, which is great obviously. I just got a v2 from tacticon because i was curious and honestly ive been really impressed. The inner belt is soso but the molle belts quality is actually insane.
I know this comment probably won't be noticed as well due to how long the video has been out, but for the senshi belt Tu(owner of ronin) shows a way to easily put stuff in because it is rigid so they don't move and all you have to do is bend the belt in the opposite direction of its curve and they should open up
I’ve got a Condor battle belt for $70 and been loving it ever since. Molle all the way around, detachable via velcro from the cushion and can switch out to another “build” much like the Vismix, and pretty solid when operating while running and manipulating mag pouches. Only thing is the inner belt, the cushion, will not allow being looped through belt loops as they are well over 3”. That’s the only downside in my eyes
Setting This Post On Fire! You can get the GBRS style belt for cheaper & probably better overall. Grab a AXL Advanced Eclipse Belt & Grab a Arbor Arms Liner Belt Both can be had for under $200
Hack : Good click belt . One drop of gun oil . Sew 1 inch strip of Velcro onto pants that would require battle belt .. when you put on belt you Velcro b.belt to pants . No need to spend 100’bucks . Velcro costs $11 dollars . Learn how to sew . All gear will need to be repaired . 🇺🇸
just got me a cheap Amazon battle belt. was $40. it does have the laser-cut molle loops but with the knock-off cobra buckle. it SEEMS to be pretty good quality, havent put it to use yet, but the inner belt is not the best. wish it was like the GBRS inner belt style. good thing is that im retired from the military, so its basically just gonna be a range belt and basically LARPing like i was still a cool guy, so i dont need something super high quality.
My personal preference was my issued hip belt, the big chunky one. I always took off the suspender straps. The only thing I didn't like about it was the plastic buckle because I did have that break on me once. Apparently I was the weirdo because I was the only one who liked to use that to keep my plate carrier slick.
Hey guys new to your channel, saw your bit on the inner belts towards the end of the video. So check out CIguera gear inner belts their Emissary belt has all the functionality of an inner belt (with either hook or loop velcro) and it has belt loops like a traditional belt. I use one for my duty belt and it works amazing. The inner belt of theirs I have also doubles as a stand alone gun belt as well so I can throw my EDC on in a pinch.
I have the blue force unit, it works for us larger "Husky" guys really well. My only complaint with it, is the cobra buckle adjustment is a bit of a learning curve because of the angles the belt threads thru them.
You guys should try out the Kore Battle Belt, just ordered one to try myself. Curious what your take would be with their system versus these other velcro inners
Yes YES. Kore belts are great especially at a very reasonable price. I love the buckle system so far i think it is way superior than traditional cobra buckles
Love this. Don’t see many people talking about battle belts.
What?? You must not be looking very hard lol everyone is a gearhead these days!

They can also sew in HK Loops to attach keys, gloves, eye/ear pro to.
Dude yes! I had no idea you guys had your own channel! I have watched like every Gameology video you two are in, good shit!
Love cobra buckles. Only problem is threading them though normal belt loops. It can be done but it’s a PITA.
The cummerbund style battle belt seem like they would be comfortable. I haven’t tried them out but you feel the weight a lot on your hips when you load these normal belts up.
Loving my Safelife Tactical duty belt so far, $120 or so and has held up nicely
Very informative and in a fun way from 2 world class operators. Thanks guys and my respect for you and GOD Bless you!!!
They are updating their belt again?
@@davidb9323 no they are coming out with a new two piece belt soon like the ronin belt and I think they are gonna stop selling the orion
You guys should talk abt the gear and at the same time put it on, to show people how it would look.
if you take any suggestion, PLEASE DO TORTURE TEST ON ALL THE EQUIPMENT
would love to watch those
Oh man, tactical pants would be great to cover! Maybe test the flexibility, comfort, fit, rip stop capability, etc.
@@Nimbus64 just got some khaki pants , I hope I can roll around in them a bit so they aren’t so fresh looking !
I have a blue alpha hybrid belt which has been awesome, worn it every single day for years now, it’s super comfortable and very well made
I bought a Krydex belt from Amazon to get my foot in the door and to use at the range/carbine classes.
@@roninskater1128 I still have the Krydex and will still use it.
Just to let you know on the ronin belt if you clip for belt with the molle facing on the inside it opens up the molle to put stuff threw it.
The uploads are coming out faster than the speed of light
I just spent 17 minutes watching a video just about belts. I would probably watch it again
Cheers guys, wanted to get a 2nd opinion about the GBRS belt... wasn't sure if that was too hyped.
I never thought of getting a belt to carry stuff on it. I can see how secure the belt is to your waist plus the weight saving from your best. I will be getting one soon.
Just picked up the Eagle Industries Operator belt. Love it.
Helpful video!
i use the GBRS belt for armed security so far its been a blessing
Blue alpha belt and the Ronin belt ISSS THE SAME belt. Ronin just has his name on it. Same with the war poet belt. It’s the BAG belt
Chest rigs should be next followed by low vis armor carriers.
I love the blue alpha belt except for the $248 price tag. But that’s the belt with 2 tie in loops. However I’ve been wear the actreyx leaf H-150. It’s a great belt plus it’s a harness belt with a simple loop and D ring setup
First thing I noticed is your Melin hat! Haha. I own the same exact one and it’s my go to hat. I own 3 of their hats.
Tacticon worked as my first belt, , maybe $40. I have since moved up and now consider it a "lender" if needed.
Setting This Post On Fire! You can get the GBRS style belt for cheaper & probably better overall.
Grab a AXL Advanced Eclipse Belt
&
Grab a Arbor Arms Liner Belt
Both can be had for under $200
The belt i got is a grey ghost gear belt. I had it for a handful of months and its awesome.
I think Its cool to see warrior poet get a shout on this channel ngl
Hack :
Good click belt .
🇺🇸
Love the gear videos, guys. Keep it up!
great insight fellas, helped me make my decision.
Im kinda looking for a glitter pink belt to match my nose nugget like yours... best worrier accessory I've seen yet sweet pea!!! lol 😜
huh?
just got me a cheap Amazon battle belt. was $40. it does have the laser-cut molle loops but with the knock-off cobra buckle. it SEEMS to be pretty good quality, havent put it to use yet, but the inner belt is not the best. wish it was like the GBRS inner belt style. good thing is that im retired from the military, so its basically just gonna be a range belt and basically LARPing like i was still a cool guy, so i dont need something super high quality.
My guys got a tactical nose ring 😂🤦♂️
and?
Personally The Ferro Concepts Bison Belt is the best one for $240. You guys should check it out
worrier poet society is great john is a good guy.
Love the shoutout to warrior poet society!
You guys should 11/10 do some videos with the gbrs guys they’ve been putting out great content and great products too!
You guys should take a look at the Kore Essentials Battle Belt
Loving my Ferro Concepts bison belt. Similar to the GBRS but a little better value and it doesn't reverse to the velcro
My personal preference was my issued hip belt, the big chunky one. I always took off the suspender straps. The only thing I didn't like about it was the plastic buckle because I did have that break on me once. Apparently I was the weirdo because I was the only one who liked to use that to keep my plate carrier slick.
Tacticon Armament is an veteran owned brand that has pretty decent design and construction for a decent price
I have the ferro concepts bison belt and its very similar to the GBRS belt and its amazing.
Tu Lam (Rōnin) sells a 1.5" inner belt. I use it for any pant other than my G3s.
Id love to see a pistol red dot cheap vs expensive. Like a Holosun 508 vs a Trijicon RMR
I have an AWS SMU, good value from a solid company.
I have the blue force unit, it works for us larger "Husky" guys really well. My only complaint with it, is the cobra buckle adjustment is a bit of a learning curve because of the angles the belt threads thru them.
you forgot the belts from combatsystems and either SHOOTERS or GUNFIGHTER
Love you guys!
You guys should try out the Kore Battle Belt, just ordered one to try myself. Curious what your take would be with their system versus these other velcro inners
Yes YES. Kore belts are great especially at a very reasonable price. I love the buckle system so far i think it is way superior than traditional cobra buckles
Ferro concepts also does a belt with thermo polymer the material I believe they are the originators
Are you able to do a review on wilder vs high speed belts with LE duty gear? Handcuff, magazine pouches, etc.
Had an SOE cobra belt for almost ten years now never even come close to failing in anyway
Mine is going on eleven years now, eaisly the best in the industry.
Once you get a tactical belt you can't go back to wearing a regular belt again.
I love my Tasmanian Tiger Warrior Belt LC, had to buy the inner belt separately though which I think was a bit unfair.
UARM makes a ballistic war belts. Lvl 3A that's very nice, $300 unless you want it in multicam then it's more.
