- Have you struggled with setting up a battle belt, constantly wondering how to prioritize items, what to include, and where to put them so your loadout will be as effective as possible? Fieldcraft Survival’s Mike Glover is here with a Pro Tip gleaned from years of experience as a Green Beret that will unfuck your battle belt game.
“I remember when this wasn't a thing in special operations, we didn't have all of our kid tethered to our bodies on a belt,” Glover says. “We had different holsters, different pouches on different pieces of kit. And then, through the Global War on Terror evolving, we started looking at specific types of kit and going, ‘Man, we need life saving kit attached to us at all times.’”
“So, it didn't matter what carrier or what vest you wore. What mattered was, life saving kit was here. And you could put whatever you want on your body, on your combat chassis. So this has evolved over time, but this is the same belt I had when I was a team sergeant over a decade ago - same exact belt, like, THE same belt. The overarching idea is, I have life saving pieces of equipment on my belt that I could load out quickly and rapidly, put on my personal my body, and then start maneuvering, start fighting and self defense.”
“Let's go over my belt and my particular setup; this setup was built for me with the idea of operating in austere environments, where I might use it for force-on-force protection. [I would] have it at my feet if I was driving a car or have it near the door if I was in a particular safe place or base of operations. I'm not going to sleep with this on, but I have it at the ready to grab it, put it on, and then go to work.”

I mentioned this in the livestream, but I really like this idea of placing essentials on a belt. This has given me a few ideas. Thanks for the tip(s).
Funny, I know I am on the right track. My belt setup was already put together in a near-exact same format before I watched this. Keep at it my dude.
What's up Beret just a Marine forced Recon sniper here! 1986 to 1992. We used old Vietnam era Allis Web duty belts and suspenders with shoulder straps all nylon. We had 1968 1969 1970 1075 stuff! When my dad was in the Marines in 1950 at 15!!! Lol. They sent him home at 17 he re in listed 1952. They sent him back to Korea! In 1965 he was sent to Vietnam 1st Marines 2nd Battalion the first major Battalion to arrive in Vietnam in March. Dad was 30 at the time E-8! He had WW2 NAVY MARINE CANVAS CRAP AND SNAP ONS. STEAL CANTEENS NOT PLASTIC! MY GRANDFATHERS AND UNCLES USED THAT STUFF IN WW2 1941 TO 1945. IN 1968 THE GOVERNMENT GAVE THE ARMY NYLON ALLIS BELTS AND POUCHES. AND ROOK AND BUT PACKS. BUT MARINES STILL USED THE CANVAS CRAP TO 1970. I HAD ALL PLASTIC 1968 CANTEENS NYLON POUCHES. M-14 NYLON POUCHES. M-12 NYLON FLAP HOLSTER. NYLON SUSPENDERS AND SHOULDER STRAPS. MY M-67 K-Bar was on my left shoulder harness and compass pouch was on my right shoulder harness. I had a nylon mag pouch for my Colt 1911A1 45 ACP. My nylon rook sack or butt pack. First aid kit, cleaning kit, mess kit, grenades, mirror, socks and some new MRES that came out in 1982 or 1983. The service men since 2005 have these new safe life defense belts and taco pouches. New vests helmets and Velcro stuff! Your lucky! I'm happy for this next generation of military men and woman!
The knife freaks want to see the blade brother
We did have such a thing prior to GWOT. 7TH GRP Advisors wore pistol belts with kit during the 80s.
Thanks for sharing. One big takeaway for me is the retention. My belt is setup for fast access at the range. Need to ensure my mags don't fall out if I'm running/moving.
Funny mine is set up 95% the same. Knife location is different. Always good to have your perspective.
Lol it’s funny, I make holsters for a living yet I still don’t have a quick access battle belt!! 🤦♂️ haha 😂 got one, just never finished it!! I think it’s time I do that. Thanks Mike!! 👍
Watching this to prepare for my Defensive Pistol training with Mike and Fieldcraft In may, excited is an understatement
“It’s a freakin’ marker, guys! I drew that.” 😂
Great advice as always Mike. My battle belt is set up very similar to your and this video gave me some extra insights, because I am always looking for ways to make my systems better.
love it!
now plate carrier/ chest rig / molle vest setup.
thanks!
I see keyword: GREEN BERET. My wild guess is it's Mike Glover aka Mr. SPECIAL FORCES.
Old x green beret

In speshul operations
welcome 2 the goon sesh solder💯 it’s time to oper8😩
Are there any videos on how to assemble the belt? For instance, how did you mount the knife behind your IFAK, and how did you mount the plastic magazine holster to the molle belt? Thanks!
A lot has changed in a decade. Padded belts like these are the way of the dinosaur.
Whats the alternative? Im seriously asking.
Yeah, what’s the new wave then?
I like the set up except i like the gun holders and ar15 Mag holsters to be both leg drops , and suspenders holding up the belt
The only thing I would add is a second tourniquet that can be accessed by your non dominant side.
make a sugar free version of your iced coffee pounders. just got a few cases delivered to the food bank i volunteer at. so ultimately, just want to say thanks on the behalf of the people of Bangor PA!
great information, my biggest take away from this....where can i get that shirt?
Cheers cobber, will update ours too.
Nice video, thanks. Good setup. RLTW!
I used another video you made to outfit my battle belt, this reminds me i need a dump bag
Hell, yeah. I'm ready for war, now.
My dump bag is mostly filled with junk food! I'm always eating 😂
How do you attach your winkler behind a pouch?
Hello Gentlemen. Why you didnt make a Set Up Movie about the Duty Belt from the EMS and the Police or Sheriffs Department?
Thank you Mike!
I know it's a big ask, but I wish more training courses would come to NY.
Lmao good luck. The only reason we have decent courses out here in California is because there's still a decent gun culture and TBH lots of high profile people that want to learn how to shoot while they're spending money in LA and Laguna. NY is impossible bro you'd probably have a better chance driving to Connecticut or NJ.
Who wants to go to New york...no one
whats the need for a pistol if you have a rifle. which is the prime battle tool
What are your thoughts on having the trauma pack (with velcro detachment) and CAT right in the middle behind you in case your dominant hand is disabled? I know "whatever works for you" but just wondering if there are any advantages to placing it dominant side vs neutral.
Whatever belt my friend insisted I buy doesn’t adjust length at all. The internal belt has to be removed entirely with all the f’n velcrow 🙄 just to adjust the belt at all even 1”. WTF. Is this normal?
👍😊🇺🇸Good info. Thank you!
Hey Mike how did you mount your knife on your belt?
Very carefully 😂
2003 called and wants its belt back
If it works for him and he has built the muscle memory for all the gear and it's use. Why on earth would he need the latest and greatest.
Where can I order the med bag with the MG Label?
Can you reach your tourniquet with your left arm? Just incase your right arm is not working?
What if you configure it out for long term?
Honest question.... how is this different, practically speaking, than the old LBE from the 60's - 90's? Functionally I have everything there on my old LBE...
Why all the black rifle coffee drops? What about FCS lol
Brcc’s been paying him to do these installments for free range American, (also brcc owned), but I think it’s great for young guys who don’t see much of this content out here for the freebie
Real old school. But it works
A Multitool is a must have on the belt!
💯

Does anybody know what model of Winkler knife this is? I’m torn between getting the Winkler field knife or the belt knife. What are some of the pros and cons?
Is it the same belt?
I’ve always wondered why the majority of ppl have the pistol mags in front of the rifle mags? I I feel like reaching for your pistol mags are last resort.
Where's the beretips at?
Go woke go broke 💔
Won't drink it even if it's the last pot of coffee on Earth.

What’s not shown is the Glock 17 he runs off cam when he doesn’t have to promote sig 😂 not hating just been watching since before sig ever came along in the guntuber space.
As someone who’s been to one of his classes, he was using a 320 during class, but that was just one instance so you may be right; but figured I’d attribute to the research
@@Eleven10Citizen his belt has a g17 holster lol it’s empty cause sig would be pissed
@@nathancummins8728 I can only attest to what I saw first hand mate, I’ll leave the assuming and speculation to the internet lol
RAD
Everybody even civilians? I really want to train like SF but feel as if people will just make fun of me at the range
Im not a cop so me having a battle belt sound stupid. Cmm
Black rifle coffee? Isn't that the coffee business that went woke and condemned Rittenhouse, and now is desperate to win back its consumers? Isn't the owner a former CIA guy too?
Yep
Black rifle coffee is a great company and you don’t know the truth. Evan Hafer explained the whole thing
@@haneyte2001just like Dana White wants everyone to drink bud light now
Woke??? When did BRCC went woke? Genuine question because I like the brand.
