As a former infantry paratrooper I used the exact condor one they had. (Different setup and pouches) it ran flawlessly for 4 years. I didn’t know shit about good bs bad gear or whatever but it worked and I never even thought I would need something better. I still use it later when I wana play around.
As a law enforcer in my country, I've been using the same chest rig for more than a year now. The only problem with it is the fact that its a bit difficult to insert magazines into it, but overall, it does its job well.
Condor can make a $500 cr but their business model is not like that. They build cheap but decent and totally usable gear with no "gucci" crap for tacticool kids. I am not against having more expensive gear and fine tuning that comes with it but the difference is barely noticable...

I have a condor mop-c. Purchased it upon recommendation from a respected friend. Had it almost 3 years now and still going strong. I love it and didn't have to take out a loan to get my kit together.
They have another video saying that it's excessive on the material, I never owned a condor plate carrier but for condor at least you can willing fully not feel guilty about using it, it isn't no tactical gucci.
I got a condor Chest Rick’s as a door buster at the last wounded warrior benefit. It’s been 10 years and use it as tool holder. When I am working on the property. Still intact md no issues.
I use the Haleys in the infantry and they’ve great. They’re versatile and I want the ability to slim down the kit if I don’t need 30 pouches on my chest. I attached the DC3RM to the Crye JPC 2.0 with the flat pack and Haley Hitchhike kit and it’s a killer setup. Unfortunately we still have to buy it all unless we want to use an IOTV from 2015.

Spiritus deserves mention where chest rigs are concerned, they make some higher tier stuff but their budget option, the Bank Robber, is a very comfortable minimalist rig. HRT also makes some nice stuff, I run their Maximus as a placard and it's basically my dream placard to the point that I've thought about grabbing their straps too so I can throw it on as a chest rig as well. Crye's stuff isn't cheap, but it's quality, and I can tell because even their ballcap is legitimately the best fitting and most comfortable ballcap I've ever worn. Hard to miss with Crye.
I've used condor stuff for along time and so far no issues, got the plate carrier, there other chest rig and then there version of a micro rig, yea there not perfect but if you don't have the money to burn there decent. However if you can afford a nice rig then do it.
I understand the quality concern but I have 2 condor recon rigs that have a backpack and admin attachment and also front and back armor for 100 without armor. so in features and price not quality condor is better than everything you showed.
I personally use a helikon competition multigun rig and find it perfect for my needs 2 pistol magazines up front with to close top pouches aswell and space for 3 rifle magazines at the rear, mounting points for carabiniers and additional pouches. Paired with a dangler pouch its more than effective
I have used my D3CRX for years now and it has held up fantastically. On a "dollars per mile" basis, they have very much proved their worth. I recently added the Flatpack v2, as I'm now doing 10k run-n-guns and that extra capacity for hydration is absolutely essential. I will probably switch to a placard based plate carrier in the future, since I have become so accustomed to the D3CRX over years of 2-gun and 3-gun competition.
@@restorationranch1560 it absolutely can, provided the PC has a quick detach system like SwiftClip (or whatever it's called). It has the side clips and velcro backing specifically for this.
These types of vests are not made for cqb. They’re great for a RECCE setup where distance matters. The real difference I’ve found from running cheap vs. expensive is that it doesn’t matter when comparing a trained vs. untrained. You could have the nicest and newest stuff made and without training, you’re a liability. I started with the cheapest gear and learning to live with that has made me better. At the end of the day you are more effective with the more expensive gear.
A lot of the military surplus on the market is very well made and while not as slick as stuff like the HSP rigs will hold your shit and keep you pretty comfy. British PLCE chest rigs and the US TAP chest rig are two pretty cheap but solid options you can find online right now.
I put together a chest rig myself from Direct Action. Went with a plain chest rig then added rifle pouches, pistol pouch, gp pouch, grenade pouch (which can be used for also flashlight or cuffs or something else) and a dangler pouch i had on my previous chest rig. To have a little more versatility i put it together with a simple small backpack i came across. Besides the backpack its not the cheapest set up, but if you can do it right and like you really want it, why not. Good thing also with Direct Action rifle pouches they can fit 223/5.56 or AK mags and the pistol pouches can also fit different sizes. So its very usefull when you want to use different weapon systems too.
IMO, the Micro or slightly bigger brother would be perfect to run with a battle belt, and if you needed more stuff you could get an assault pack. If you need more than that, might as well wear a plate carrier.
honestly the condor rig is a good entry levvel rig for airsoft i used to have one...and i bought a small molle dump pouch to use with the "empty" space and a single grenade pouch on the other side
I'm Not a Weekly "Run-N-Gunner", I live in the City and Don't have Access to an Outdoor Range so I have the Condor with the MP2 Inserts that you can Buy Separately, you can Also use Poker Card Holders, they work PERFECT for 5.56.
My favorite is the Active Pro Gear minimalist rig, slim and comfortable with easy adjustment; fairly cheap too if all you need/want is to hold a few mags and a TQ.
Personally I'm always a fan of chest rigs that can be turn into plate carriers, only downside is the back panel isn't included with the chest rig, so it's an extra cost
If you haven't already, you should check out Spiritus Systems. They have some really high quality gear. Love the content! Always a privilege to watch you guys!
I remember during my first deployment in 2006 with 1-9 Infantry, we had the first gen OTVs, or Interceptor Body Armor, and I ran the HSGI suspenders with a belt under my OTV. Almost everything, mags, IFAK, etc was on the belt and very little was on my OTV except for single mag pouches for easy access. The rest of my mags were in a SAW pouch on the belt because they've enclosed and it doubles as a dump pouch. If you stack out mag pouches and whatnot on the OTV, you have a harder time going prone, and in some of our operational areas like Ramadi, there were obstacles that you had to get over and you wanted as little shit on your front to get hung up on as possible.
For the price difference I'd dake the Tasmanian MK2 over the AVS. Less than half the price, fits a front plate, holds 4-5 mags depending on version, and also has 2 side pouches with the same internal storage.
I run a SORD Scs rig, it’s able to accommodate plates in the front and back panels, has a place for map /compass and admin stuff n things like range cards or formas in the front panel, and it’s completely modular with no sewn in pouches. Definitely on the pricier side but well worth the money imo.
I have a lot of chest rigs, for different mission sets. My favorites for quick, grab and go (one in every vehicle) are the Original Special Operations Equipment Cop Rigs. The three M4 pouches have bungee retention, but are loop velcro lined, allowing perfect integration of Ess Tac Kiwis. The outside of the mag pouches are covered in loop, as well, so removing the shotgun shell cards, allowed me to slap Spiritus System Fight Light IV triple mag placard on. I also use the Haley Strategic D3 micro for similar roles, as the elastic in the front admin pouch holds two more M4 mags, if needed. The ability to scale up in my mobile equipment is important to me. For my large fighting rigs, I use OSOE full size chest rigs with MOLLE. This, while heavier than pre-configured pouch chest rigs, has enabled me to use the exact pouches I prefer, configured in a manner that suits me best. This way, I have the ability to run my plate carrier and fighting rig set up, in a manner that mirrors that of my Eagle CIRAS set up. I am very pleased with the construction and service of all of the aforementioned gear, and recommend them wholeheartedly.
I used to run a mayflower chest rig over my mayflower player carrier. I sold the mayflower and bought a HS micro. While I do love the micro, to me, nothing compares to the mayflower chest rig.
If you really want cheap check out the old surplus Chicom or ALICE gear. One time I got 3 type 56 SKS chest rigs for $10 on ebay, they have 10 cells, fits gen 2 Pmags and gi stanag mags in each cell, its a tight fit & shoving a mag in takes some work, dont insert 20 round mag bodies as theyll sink all the way in and get stuck. Theyre so abundant, and still used to this day, battlefield & cost effective.
Condor has good set ups . I just wish they offered more H style harness . The cross strap harness doesn't let you throw it on quick in a dangerous situation.
Damn, I was hoping to also see the Halikon Tex Chest Rig as I was looking to get that since it was $100 just for starters before getting a plate carrier. Oh well, still got some good recommendations from yu guys. Awesome as always!
When are you guys going to do another review for plate carriers? I know a few subscribers wanted to see Spiritus Systems, Ferro Concepts, etc. Please make another video similar to that one!
Great video guys! I really enjoy the content! Could you do a comparison video on survival / military issue shovels? Like the Cold Steel Spetsnaz shovel and The Gerber trifold shovel also any other brands as well.
What do I look for in a chest rig? Tools! I need tools! Always! I do work on buildings, showroom rigs, and machines, especially ones with circuit boards in them. 😉 A chest rig would definitely help with the occasional job, maybe even replace the traditional tool belt, I just wonder what I would use the rifle mag slots for. 🤔
Me watching this after just buying a bunch of condor gear and a condor chest rig... lol. But I did go for cheaper that work. Can't pass up 200$ for a belt and plate carrier with pouches for all my needs. Good thing to practice and train on while I save for the good stuff
Found a used, but in good shape, Tactical Tailor split front Rudder Rac at a surplus store. It was already set up with a three mag panel! New on Midway for $285.00. This used one was tagged at $12.95. Score!!! 😊👍
Haley gets my vote. I especially like their flatpack plus in gray. Makes a great travel bag with the inserts keeping all of your crap organized and the peel open design makes it easily accessible. I highly recommend picking up some of their shoulder pads. They’re expensive but it makes all the difference when you’re hiking with a load.
I use my plus grey for travel as well, great pack for using any hook backed pouch. I really like it pared with a T-rex arms 5.56 placard with his mini admin pouch. Pretty minimal utilitarian setup. What brand shoulder pads did you get?
@@crazyhorsemusx7767 I bought the Haley ones. They’re on the website under packs and bags; $40 for a pair (I got coyote, I think the contrast looks nice). They aren’t super easy to get on but they stay put once you figure it out.
for anybody here who is just wanting to find something good for airsoft, and likes the look of the D3 CRX and his UW GEN IV, check out the Emersongear chest rigs- they make basically a non-professional type rig with the h-harness that is very similar to these two rigs, and is plenty good enough for airsoft, and not quite as expensive.
Big HS fan here. Got both the D3CR-H and the D3CR-X plus the Multi-Mission hangers. Worth every penny. also, I use a Flatpack on the back of my PC. Not a big fan of micro chest rigs, tho. The VS UW is also great.
I obviously have no real combat experience but I used it on a flat range, hiking and in airsoft (yeah yeah feel free to hate lol) personally I love the Haley strategic micro chest rig. The biggest thing I love about it is (as you mentioned) is it’s versatile. Which personally I rather own like one or two chest rigs but be able to change it to work for 308 mags to pistol calibers.
There’s just something primal about constructing a throne and sitting on it, isn’t there? I remember one made out of barracks boxes. Some have been made of MRE cases.

I ran a crye SPC, Haley D3CRXH, the hitchhike/piggyback flat pack plus in the Marines. Shit was gravy and lightened my load by not having to carry extra shit for “mission adaptability” my leadership had a hard on for.
Im in the guard and they gave me a UCP FLC and a gen II IOTV lol. Only bright side is that I can cheat when we do blanks and just run my FLC instead of a whole kit with plates in it.

If you stack out mag pouches and whatnot on the OTV, you have a harder time going prone, and in some of our operational areas like Ramadi, there were obstacles that you had to get over and you wanted as little shit on your front to get hung up on as possible.
Watching this episode makes me want to go buy another vest … keep up the awesome content !
The duality of me running old school Alice and LBV-88 gear, then turn around and run a full Beez Combat Systems plate carrier and rig
For the price difference I'd dake the Tasmanian MK2 over the AVS. Less than half the price, fits a front plate, holds 4-5 mags depending on version, and also has 2 side pouches with the same internal storage.
OMG what an F’ing AWESOME channel!!!
Very Well Presented & Articulated 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Mayflower UW Chest Rig with the Trex Arms back strap is an S++ Combination.
Holy shit, that opening coordination is fantastic! I’m into it, you got my sub!
You guys gotta throw in an Agilite rig in the next one.
17:30 Velocity Systems chest rigs are made to work with the Haley MP2 inserts just the same as any Haley rig.
The main difference is (provided you aren't getting shot) the cheap one lasts 5 months. The expensive one lasts 5 years.
It's a long-term investment!
Yeah that’s horse shit. I’ve beat the shit of my condor gear for years and it won’t die
would have to put down your phones and fight back, which is never going to happen, so it doesn't matter which one you buy..stay sheep
@@SpaceRanger187 holy mad
@@shd_samurai9676 mad that sheep woln't get this Revolution started..you are correct sir..fuk it the kids can pay the price
MY TWO FAVORITE CONTENT CREATORS
Interesting thing about adding a plate to a chest rig. It was done with the American “Rhodesian”chest rig that was pretty common during the early Gwot
I used to run a mayflower chest rig over my mayflower player carrier. I sold the mayflower and bought a HS micro. While I do love the micro, to me, nothing compares to the mayflower chest rig.
I managed to snag a velocity UW at a gunshow in Australia here for $60. Best $60 I will have ever spent my entire life.
Theyre so abundant, and still used to this day, battlefield & cost effective.
the music makes me feel like I'm shopping for groceries lol great info, I'm just a civilian so ima just buying a small pack
I just bought an old chest rig from south africa. Works like a charm
Condor has good set ups . I just wish they offered more H style harness . The cross strap harness doesn't let you throw it on quick in a dangerous situation.
The straps are removable, so in a sense you could just buy different straps
Now this is More useful and affordable by everyone than JPC
Damn, I was hoping to also see the Halikon Tex Chest Rig as I was looking to get that since it was $100 just for starters before getting a plate carrier. Oh well, still got some good recommendations from yu guys. Awesome as always!
I think maybe after using that Condor rig a while and letting it break in, you would be able to get a MAG back in one-handed.
I use mag pouches by Hoanan and OneTigris and have no problem with the one hand. By the way, just a civilian.
You guys keep driving my dogs crazy with the squeaky toy noise lol
What do I look for in a chest rig? Tools! I need tools! Always!
I do work on buildings, showroom rigs, and machines, especially ones with circuit boards in them. 😉
A chest rig would definitely help with the occasional job, maybe even replace the traditional tool belt, I just wonder what I would use the rifle mag slots for. 🤔
I always have 2 tourniquets ready to go on my chest rig(and another 2 in the mee pouch on my side)
I have two of the first gen Haley D3CR’s. Love’em.
Pretty sure you can slide those mp2 inserts into any mag pouch and it will work
Me watching this after just buying a bunch of condor gear and a condor chest rig... lol. But I did go for cheaper that work. Can't pass up 200$ for a belt and plate carrier with pouches for all my needs. Good thing to practice and train on while I save for the good stuff
I really like the way he hammed it up trying to put the mag back into the pouch! I don't think the struggle is that real!
I use a Russian ANA Alpha chest rig. Holds 8 40 round mags and has enough room for an IFAK and a dump pouch.
I've seen octs put their sim guns in the radio pouches on the velocity rigs
for anybody here who is just wanting to find something good for airsoft, and likes the look of the D3 CRX and his UW GEN IV, check out the Emersongear chest rigs- they make basically a non-professional type rig with the h-harness that is very similar to these two rigs, and is plenty good enough for airsoft, and not quite as expensive.
*struggled to stow mag into mag pouch*
Me: "What's wrong with your pants pocket?"
Big HS fan here. Got both the D3CR-H and the D3CR-X plus the Multi-Mission hangers. Worth every penny. also, I use a Flatpack on the back of my PC. Not a big fan of micro chest rigs, tho. The VS UW is also great.
Condor rapid assault rig mcr6…perfect retention perfect release and re insert, 5 pouches with molle to double up on pouches…$30
Well, I was going to say that Velocity Systems looks pretty cool until I saw the note. But I’m a belt guy so no big loss IMO.
There’s just something primal about constructing a throne and sitting on it, isn’t there? I remember one made out of barracks boxes. Some have been made of MRE cases.
Love that the models y’all used for the difference between a plate carrier and a rig come from tarkov
Other way around. The carriers and rigs in the game come from the carriers and rigs in real life.
@@Marty32 I meant the visuals they used I know they’re based on real ones
@@milkman8267 Ahhh gotcha yeah I thought that was a nice touch too.
Don't forget the venerable pat 83 SA rig, I swear by that thing
Cameron’s phone case was cool
Warriors ! And war strategists , I feel much safer with guys like you in the world . Thanks for the informative tactical advice , hooraaa ! Watch my six guys .
I ran a crye SPC, Haley D3CRXH, the hitchhike/piggyback flat pack plus in the Marines. Shit was gravy and lightened my load by not having to carry extra shit for “mission adaptability” my leadership had a hard on for.
In this Engineer's opinion, my 3-year condor has served me well and I've thrashed it around
where is that little plate carrier they used with the mayflower from??
In 2010 our Gunner shut down all gear outside of issued. People don’t realize how lucky they are to have choices or premium gear.
Im in the guard and they gave me a UCP FLC and a gen II IOTV lol. Only bright side is that I can cheat when we do blanks and just run my FLC instead of a whole kit with plates in it.
Holy crap that Suppressor at 5:09 looked like a baffle strike waiting to happen.
I actually quite like putting chest rig over body armor. Feels more cooler than vest strapped in with some pouches😂
Israel’s shirt is showing off his “chest rig.” 😍
That Money Batt shirt is great
Love the vid! Can next one be back packs, looking to put together a go-bag for my car/urbexing needs
You guys should do a history of chest rigs or loadouts from civil war and up
@Shift Fire look into Defensive Mechanism they do modularity better in every way at a fraction of the cost.
What plate bag is that being used in conjunction with the Mayflower???
Question: Have you ever trained with Canadian Army? If you have, what is your opinion on the Canadian Army and or Canadians in general.
Build quality. I was using Viper stuff when i started. Falls to pieces now have 3 Warrior plate carriers and Crye precision and 5.11 trousers.
