You should do a video where the competency in the Axis is switched. Italy is competent and makes similar gains to Germany in our timeline, while Germany is the "broken spine" of the Axis.
The broken spine is funny as fuck
Japan and Iraq switch too?
That'd be interesting. Italy breaking past el Alamein and capturing Egypt while Germany struggles in the Netherlands. Could lead to Italy signing a separate peace with the allies, getting some concessions in return of helping defeat the soft head of germany
@@saccorhytus so Iraq invades Iran, Saudi arabia, Syria, lebanon, and threatens egypt and sues canal, but Japan does absolutely nothing
What if Japan and Italy (along with korea and greece) Geographically switched places some time before the war 💀
What if the Taliban handed over Bin Laden after 9/11?
Sounds a little interesting
what if bin laden time travelled, overthrew hitler and then won WWII?
Us invades anyways
i heard apparently this could of happened (cia was talking with them or something) but then the us announced its war on terror and talks ceased
They nearly did but the war hawks in the U.S. government invaded anyway.

Oh yeah 😂😂
Just like my first Italy game...
I was teaching my friends hoi4 while i watched this video
Even with 100 hours you would still be a “first time” player
@@The_whales agreed
"What if everything went terrible for the axis" - germany still ends up with way more territory than in our timeline lol
That actually makes sense.
i guess a worst end for them would be to imagine France being done with germany after the Xth time trying to do something silly and demanding the entire nation to be quartered. germany could end up being split into the rhineland, bavaria, prussia and whatever part is distinct enought to form its own nation. basically a bunch of Austrias.
@@Lapantouflemagic0 Oh if france got its way they would have just annexed the rhineland right away, like a century earlier. I guess the worst outcome would be then if there was no USA or GB to stop them.
@@wildfire9280 How so?
@@ryanhernandez8324 The more successful you are in a war, the more the opposing side that eventually wins will want to cut you down to size. Probably. Idk, it’s not a rule or anything, it’s just _a_ coherent line of logic.
Alternative title: If France and GB were competent
True
Most of these actions are being ridiculously belligerent for no reason.
The Allies biggest mistakes, without hindsight, were not backing the Czechs in 1938 and a poor response to the Ardennes Offensive.
@@adamboh393I am fairly certain many other countries would start considering France and Britain as the next big threats to Europe since they were exercising their authority a lot and were winners in WWI. It gives Germany a cassis belle that they ACTUALLY were being oppressed by the allies and were defending their sovereignty, plus angers the Americans by violating their belief in the right to self determination in a geopolitical sense.
Internally considering this is the era of the Great Depression, it would piss off their own citizens that the country was intervening in other nations so harshly while their own people lacked jobs. By shutting down Germany’s attempts at economic recovery, it would reduce potential export locations and may kill potential jobs their own land.
The thing with appeasement is, at the time, it was a reasonable policy. the allies needed time to ramp up production against a mobilized germany who had a larger stock of airplanes and tanks. They realized they needed more time to confront germany, if the germans folded with danzing, the allies would have more than twice the production in airplanes, tanks, and equipment by late 1940.
@@vaporwave2359additionally, even Germany went to war earlier than planned. Had Germany gone to war in 1940 like they had intended, it's entirely possible that the early parts of the war would have gone much more poorly for the Allies
I’m so glad this is becoming a proper series, I love the concept of these and now he’s getting more creative
Now I want to see: What if America won the War of Revolt (independence)? From the point of view that they lost.
Imagine if he does a Poland video and Poland ends up being bigger than in his "Everything Went Right" video.
@@clasicpotato oh, so it would be a Canadian video, and like the one from the April fools, absolutely magnificent
Everybody’s so creative
Its worth considering that if Poland invaded Germany in 1934, that would give Germany reason to rapidly and openly develop its military as it would now have an excellent justification to do so.
i think so too and in the following war in autria italian military would fail for sure that would lead to significant territorial shift in northern italy
Ironically this would destabize and isolate the Allies so much Germany would still win against France and maybe even force peace with Britain and thus potentially win WW2
What is "Germany" in this scenario? Personally, I don't think there's any chance Hitler's regime persists after a successful invasion by Poland; it'd be too much of a national humilitation, potentially one sufficient to spark revolutionary action.
@@Meeperstein101 When Hitler started the annexation of the Sudetenland in 1938, a group of Army officers were in the early stages of a coup (the Oster conspiracy). If there was any military reaction to it, they would have raised the army against the Nazis. In 1934 a military action by Poland (an unlikely scenario) would have seen Hitler deposed quickly. And then the Nazis either get banned or splinter into smaller parties.
I like the transitions for countries changing colours, but when changing images as a whole, it gives me a slight headache.
It’s a bit choppy yeah

Then The Babylonians would survive, and their empire would remain till current day
Comedy bronze!
Then he is forgotten.
You’re basically asking for the entire timeline to be upended
Woah, woah. It’s not even possible to predict changes that drastic.
The Allies were very belligerent in this timeline. By being THIS aggressive towards the Axis before they even did anything remotely dangerous, it would cause the allies some serious internal turmoil because they would be killing potential jobs. Don’t forget this is the Great Depression, and German “Tractors” would be great places to export steel and rubber, giving jobs for the colonies, shipping, and steel mills. It also makes the Allies look extremely aggressive to the point of actually looking like the bad guys. Why get into a hissy fit over useless sand in Libya or uncolonized land with people who are your ally’s ally?
Oh I wouldn't call those lands useless, lybia did have oil, and africa made lots of coal, rubber and food exports.
Yeah, I was going to say. I get that the whole video is about "What if everything went terribly", but a significant portion of the French population was still against a military intervention against Germany even on the eve of our timeline's Polish invasion. I don't think there's any chance of the French government doing even half the stuff in this video without collapsing. All of this would also alienate the US from the Allies.
This is a major problem people have with WW2 alt his. It is tempting with current knowledge to just curbstomp the Nazis right on 1933, but you can't risk martyring them by proving them right.
guys its fine its for entertainment😭😭
@@tuh210he's just pointing out realism lol
I feel like Poland would support Japan in their conflict with USSR. with Germany being very weakened, and Poland still upset about the eastern border, they would at the very least support japan with guns and volounteers.
During this period japan already cooperated with poland, such as assisting eachother in sending spies to ussr

What if the allies followed all of Churchill’s plans? Some are pretty wacky, it’d be a great scenario.
"I want to see the horrific regimes to attempt, but fail in all of their goals."
That´s a nice quote.
The reason why italy gave up on austria broke ties whit france and brittain and became closer to germany was because brittain and france supported the ethiopians and put sanctions on italy, why would they still support austria when the LON put even harsher sanctions on italy and they arent even allowed to get all of ethiopia
Because Germany could very well claims their territory, like Istria and Tyrol. Sure, Ethiopia was embarassing, but it's not too hard imagining Italy still on Austrian side.
What if everything went perfectly for Britain? How large of an empire could they build? Where would the point of divergence be?
Gotta be American war of independence right?
That’s pretty similar to the “What if the Imperial Federation Worked” video
that's pretty much the historical scenario + the imperial federation :)
the way you keep it even better is by preventing decolonization, which you caaaaaaaaaaaan do but you would have to stop progress in political ideas since the early 1900s.
so basically world wars should not happen. seems hard to do that
Suggestion: What if France invaded Belgium in World War I as part of "Plan XVII" (The proposed invasion of Germany through Belgium in the case of a second Franco-Prussian War)
The case of Belgium joining Axis immediately after being declared sounds funny to me. Not only it destabilise UK position on the war, it could also questions America's need to support allies, because both Axis and Allies invaded democratic country anyway.
Ww1 not ww2 man
Wouldn't Germany invade the Netherlands in response?
@MartinHutasoit09 Sounds like Belgium is going to get partitioned.
Nah, Holland was one of the targets of the original schiliffen plan, but was ignored due to the fact that it was friends with Germany, allowing military access and letting Germany use its ports to trade While germany got blocked in own ports@@the11382

Sorry what

I don't think so buddy
There are a couple of things that don't sit well with me about the Austria's war: the first being that the anti German coalition would help, at least partially, Italy in the fight against Germany. The second is that the Italian army was much more suited for mountain warfare than the Germans, so they would the upper hand in that front.
16:00 16:45 Highly unlikely, for the simple reason that the upper echelons of the the American government were remarkably sympathetic to the Soviets as a progressive utopian project built out of the ruins of a reactionary empire, and a potential ally in the decolonization of Africa (as would become the case in 1956 with the Suez Crisis) and dealing with the Japanese in China. It also didn't hurt that their economic ideas were within shouting distance of the New Deal's and most of their atrocities weren't well-known at the time, with the few that were known being heavily disputed thanks to the Soviets' own propaganda apparatus.
Dean Acheson, Joseph Davies, Harry Hopkins, etcetera, are just a few of the well-known individual examples.
Me literally every single time I either play France or Britain in Hearts of Iron 4.
There will be NO lenience for the mustache man.
I do think that in the Soviet Japanese war in this timeline that America will support Japan the more the Soviets push them back into China and Korea so the Soviets don't get to powerful and at least guarantee Japan remains independent in their home islands and Pacific territories and possibly Taiwan and although unlikely because the Soviets owned half of it Sakhalin or at least the half that Japan controlled before the war.

Just saying you could have watched the video before it was officially out if you looked in the "Every thing went perfect for X" playlist on PH's channel.
Interesting because normally everyone does a "what if everything went right" scenario for the Axis
As someone with more extensive knowledge on the second Sino-Japanese war, the Soviets historically only truly began supporting the Chinese communists after they began winning the Chinese civil war which came after mere token Soviet support during the aftermath of the Japanese surrender like giving the communists a headstart to taking over the Japanese occupation of the region. Based on historical precedent, the Soviets supported whichever side was more power in China out of pragmatism of having an ally against the Japanese, and basically the Nationalists doing better in this timeline and being a vital ally of the Soviets against Japan, I would see the Soviets out of pragmatism supporitng the Nationalists until the defeat of Japan on the mainland, after which there would be tensions between the two over Sinkiang, Mongolia and Manchuria.
The Soviets absolutely wouldn't have total dominance over China, because with European strengthened position in Europe would mean no loss of Indochina and Burma around 1941, which in turn would entail that the Chinese Nationalists would have basically an uninterrupted flow of goods via Indochina, while the Burma road could be constructed as an additional route even without the fall of Indochina in 1940 due to otl fall of France missing, and thus the Chinese nationalists are not limited to just at most some over 30 thousand tons of supplies monthly via air that was only sufficient for defense, but instead they would have a continued 9 thousand ton monthly supply route via the Burma road that would definitely increase in quantity with purchase of more trucks and expansion of the road.
With this uninterrupted source of supply, the nationalists would be able to continue arming their forces to not only replace losses, but start building up a force capable of assaults, and thus eventually you'd see the Nationalists have sufficient enough equipped forces that they would be willing to risk losing with their loyal forces blockading the communists also supplied simultaneously, as the prize of pushing back the Japanese and regaining territory woudl seem more lucrative than not doing nothing, especially if the Japanese were losing to the Soviets as the cost of not trying to push would beocme the Soviets and thus maybe the communsits having a stronger foothold.
As a Paradox Game enjoyer, I really love your MAP channel, kudos
