North East India has got 8 States- Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim. only Tripura and parts of Assam can be hot this time otherwise it's manageable weather. not many foreign tourists come to NorthEast, a hidden gem of India.

I'm always impressed about how safe India is in relation to crime. Now yes, obviously there are the scams, perhaps theft, but violent crime seems rare. Now for a solo female this could be different, but as a guy who does stand out as a tourist, its just great to go as you please without worrying about getting mugged. Especially considering the amounts of cash tourists walk around with is an absolute fortune for a lot of locals.

I have been to many countries , India is very safe when it comes to people becoming aggressive in the streets or being robbed in the streets which is unlike places like Brazil where street robberies of tourists is very high , I was in Denmark recently , although over all this country is very safe , late at night when I was walking the streets to get transport to the airport , there were drunken young males in Copenhagen who wanted to become unfriendly by calling out names to people also this kind of behaviour can happen in places like Australia which can be very safe day during the day for tourists but at night alcohol can change people's personality to being aggressive and to act in a stupid manner .

It is widely celebrated in the eastern states mostly in West Bengal, here we celebrate once almost 4 to 5 days in a year, during spring season and the reason for timing to celebrate is that there is an ancient story related, which Durga after getting married to lord Shiva, she used to visit maternal house once in every year during that period and it is considered to be one of the most famous festival of India. Please visit Kailasa Temple in Ellora Caves at Aurangabad, Maharashtra India. It's considered greatest architecture in history of mankind, because the way it was built seems unbelievable for even today’s time. The temple was built at least 1300 years ago. No stone or nothing was added they carved a mammoth Granite rock/mountain with intricate details. The Kailasa Temple is notable for its vertical excavation-carvers started at the top of the original rock and excavated downward . At least 400000 tonnes of stones have been removed in the process. About 7000 workers and their future generations worked for 135 years. One small mistake and you have to rebuild the whole temple because it's carved into the rock without adding anything, that too up to down.
kailasa temple secret underground tunnels believed to be leading to underground city which is even more mysterious and government have totally locked that down and no researchers are allowed to go inside.
During the reign of Mughal emperor, Aurangzeb, the temple was ordered to be demolished along with other temples nationwide.
For the task in 1682 he sent over 1000 labourers especially to destroy Kailasa Temple; they worked for over 3 years, but could barely manage to disfigure a few statues here and there. It's the solid granite rock that's made so hard to destroy.
Despite of his repeated efforts to tear down Kailasa Temple, Aurangzeb did not found success . Finally he gave up on destroying this temple . This is the same man who has destroyed thousands of ancient temples in India but he could not destroy this one so you can understand the the magnanimity of the temple.
other than Kailasa Temple there are 99 other cave temples there (100 total) of which 34 are open for public viewing. whole temple complex known at Ellora Caves.

Paharganj in Old Delhi is worst place in the country where most foreigners go when they land first in India. Paharganj is heaven for scammers and outrageously dirty, close to it there is huge red light area full of drug addicts. foreign people go there have bad experiences and then that's their impression of the country. it's a pattern that worst places in India are most visited by foreign tourists and best places are least visited by them. India's tourism ministry is not doing enough to make foreign tourists know about best places in India. by the time local Indians recommend good and beautiful places foreigners are already gone.

I am also told foreigners can use GPay. In India most payments have gone cashless and you can insist on paying using Google pay. Another suggestion for you while booking either hotels, car, ordering food or essential quick services, please use online apps. Would be really helpful.

Yeah I saw that one. I've never come across Kingfeemer in India. Just did a search for it and realized it's actually non-alcoholic. I'll take a Kingfisher instead.

E-Rickshaw's charge fixed rate of Rs.10 for a shared ride anywhere in Delhi. Occasionally they might charge Rs.20 if you're the sole rider. ₹100 charge was nothing less than extortion

Although there are a lot of scammers out there, you can easily spot them and avoid them. Also, they are not aggressive. They will back off if you tell them strongly that you don't need their services.

Why are you recommending people to stay in Paharganj??….New-Delhi has so much better places to offer like Hauz Khas village, South Delhi, Lajpat Nagar (expat colony), Khan market+Lutyens….Paharganj is a shady place even for majority of Indians, it’s like a touristic shanty town.

During my 7 year stay in India in the 1990s I visited Delhi many times. For shopping I found Ajmal Khan Road (several km long) in Karol Bagh to be on balance the best shopping district for clothes and shoes (e..g. 30+ shoe shops/ stalls), household wares, electricals and much else. You'l find the largest selection of goods ranging in quality from basic to superior - mostly also at Delhi's lowest prices. Price-conscious middle class Delhi-ites shop there. After Partition Karol Bagh was launched by Punjabi merchant refugees from W Pakistan...

There is no dearth of places to shop in India's cities. Sometimes, it just feels like the whole country is shopping. There is no off season for shopping. It only gets crazily crowded around the time of the big festivals especially Diwali, the festival of lights.

This is a good a video as any to give you what India and certainly New Delhi is like. For a guy who’s used to traveling, especially undeveloped countries it’s fine, though for a woman on her own, well you can see for yourself if it’s suitable!

I am planning a trip for September and will be staying in the same area and this was brilliant. I am also wanting some well-fitting good quality sandals, you mentioned you didn't love the colour, can I ask if they were tailored, size, design and style? Or was there the option? I found a place in Mumbai that did this and it is one of my best finds to date, as shoes are usually not very comfortable for me and I can't get all of those attributes in the one shoe. Your clothing choices were beautiful. I haven't seen men's clothing as I usually buy women's but the style and fit they were fabulous and I would be tempted to grab those for me as they could easily be unisex. I am also curious as to how you use the camera type and if handheld tripod etc as I would love to document my journey. Thanks, Gabe and safe travels, big hugs from London, UK. x
