Keep the questions coming, because I love answering them and I am sure that you have the question, someone else wants the answers too! 😉

    I really can't understand why many people complain about having your dog on a leash. I live in the city and i have my dog on a leash for his protection, and because i also respect others. Your dog may don't bite, but the others don't know it. And besides that you shouldn't force your dog onto them, sniffing them and get in their way. Not everyone likes dogs and that's their right.
    Also even if the other person has a dog, you should first ask if you can brink yours. Not all dogs are friendly, and also the other person may not have the mood. Behaviors like these give dog owners a bad name. Respect is something that goes both ways. Respect the others so they can respect you.

    I can totally understand why you don’t video Kenai getting in and out for potty breaks. When I take my dog on the long trip to visit my daughter the 8 hour trip ends up to a 10 hour trip! I can’t imagine how much time it would add setting up video equipment. It’s always a joy watching your videos! Stay safe and keep living your dream…

    You look just lovely in oil lamplight with wood- spirit orbs dancing over the crackling pan. (As the Victrola plays on) . Whoever commented about that has never been in a smoky cabin. Then next scene is mind blowing panorama of those mountains. I follow 3 or 4 Alaska channels, and oh man. those shots are all so awesome. I think bears actually do understand turf boundaries well enough. Sure, they'll start trouble when they can get away with it. Just like when Kenai realizes that licking caked mud off is totally bogus. So why do that. You get what you go for.

    For snowy winter you need one of those lightweight circular plastic discs with a pull rope (what kids use for tobogganing down hills but you could put your garbage on that to pull over to your outdoor garbage burner. I worried when I saw you walking on slippery snow with no hand free because you were holding that garbage with both hands. If you tripped or fell you would land face first & not be able to catch your fall.

    It always tickles me to death when people go well aren't you going to bring something in on the wood will let me see you manage to get here by pioneer people that stack their wood and brought it in to burn it the same way as this woman does every day so......... My grandma was born in 1918 and I got to have her until she was 93 years old and she taught me how to Bank of fire and that you wanted to burn slow with red embers you don't want it to necessarily have a flame that's not the hottest part of the fire. To start restart your fire from the coals and that are in your stove because they are much easier and hot to catch the new material.

    HI ALONE 😊
    What size Berkey do you have? I've been wanting one but I'm not sure what size. Im thinking maybe the 2.25 gallon. It's just me here. Do you like the size you have?
    THANK YOU.

    • @AloneinRemoteAlaska
      @AloneinRemoteAlaska  Месяц назад

      Hi! I have a three-gallon Berkey. The company does not recommend one so big if you don't go through that much water quickly as the idea is to keep the filters primed (wet) as they take longer to filter when dry. However, I find that it really doesn't matter to me how quickly they filter as I fill it and go off to do other things and forget about it. By the time I make it back to get some water, I have enough to meet my needs. My kids bought this one, but I am glad they did as the filters are expensive but can filter 3000 gallons (I believe that is correct). This unit that I have takes two filters and when I lived in the city, I had it for three years before moving here, and only after being here for a year did I need to replace the filters. I hope this helps. 🤗

    Hi Alone, muddy or not, this is the most wonderful time of the year. The woods is waking up, the birdsong and animal noises, and my little stream has turned into a river. I have to stop and listen every morning when I'm off to work. Even tonight, I just went out with the dogs, and stood there listening. It is magical. 🏞

      Hi Inger! I bet your just loving how things are coming alive. It won't be long, and the woods will be full of similar songs and noises here. The word on the street here is that this is the winter that will never end. 😂❄🥶

      @@AloneinRemoteAlaska Hi Alone, so nice to hear from you. So true, temperatures are barely over freezing during the day, and my garden is still partially covered in snow. But the migrating birds tells another story, they are so busy nesting! And, I dared to change to summer tires on my car! Even though it did snow April 25th last year. I remember, I managed to get as far as my driveway before I got stuck! 😂🤞🏼🤞🏼 Hope spring arrives soon in your neck of the woods too. 😘

    Why are you carrying a side arm when it is still April? Don't know you location in Alaska as I've just tuned in so don't know your history but bears don't typically come out quite yet??

      I normally carry a SW 357 snub nose, and if not that then I carry a 10mm. Thanks for asking. 🤗

    I have 10 acres way out in Hicksville and my neighbor's have trailers or whatever have you and I go up there all the time with bear and cougar and all these you know without amenities and and on and on and on and everybody's like aren't you afraid blah blah blah blah blah . I'm more afraid of the humans that come around and do weird things that I ever have been about God's creatures. Most animals aren't into eating humans I don't think we taste very good I think there's other things they'd rather eat the only time I feel that they're really protective of their young.
