- Today, Mr.Kitonga owns a Multibillion hidden resort in Mbiuni, Machakos. A very beautiful place built on a hill. But this former high school teacher knows what it means to hustle your way up.
Upon winning a green card to America, he started his life from scratch and quickly moved his family to Philadelphia.
They worked hard and saved relentlessly because they knew discipline, consistency, and hard work would open more doors for them.
On today’s episode of Inspire Global, Mr.Kitonga walks us through his journey of owning the resort, his family’s support and why he decided to build it in his rural home

All teachers with our small salaries, let's all gather here and have a conversation. A classroom teacher ( not a principal) can go this far. We are great people. Lynn, thank you for an inspiring story about a teacher. Am so grateful
It is the American dream that made him achieve all the accomplishments.Otherwise if he was to retire here as a teacher, impossible to be there where Kitonga is.
Do the maths. There's NO WAY the Kenyan Teachers salary can and could have done this. Why are people that gullible? Even if he had saved all his salary for all those years he was employed and we know that didn't happen, it would have never been enough to build one of those chalets. Even landscaping that hilly side would have cleared any savings he had accumulated. Telling a fantastic story doesn't make one to be believable and take that from me.
Teachers does a good job....Big people in this world passed through the hands of teachers....congratulations !!!!

A genius he is. I am sure he also impacted lives of his students positively.
Mr. Kitonga is a true and humble visionary and he puts God first in his life. He is thinking about 5, 10, 15 30 years down the road to improve on his resort and to improve and empower the Community (Hospital, Environment, roads, garden, farming) of Mbiuni. The family is blessed and hope they continue the legacy.
Am proud of you Mr. Kitonga. My dad who is your cousin brother spoke very well of you. I remember while growing up my grandmother would take me and my brother to this place called Nunguni in Mbiuni, and while she harvested yams, she would cut for us some sugarcane to eat. Kitonga is my great grandfather. Am proud to be part of this family though we have never met but we have spoken. Congratulations for your success.

To people like me who have for long thought Kitonga Resort belongs to a politician/influential person, tushndwe katika jina la yesu😅😅.
This is a true inspiration and a God's hand indeed.
I have to say am really inspired by Mr Kitonga. How would have ever though of building such a resort in a hilly place? This is just incredible. As a fellow diasporan am really challenged. If this guy came to US in 2009 and by then I was here for 7 yrs am really inspired.
When my grandmother told me that children are real tangible wealth for the father i didn't get it at first.... Now i get it
I love the unity in this family. I claim it for me and my children. Every time he kept saying my wife and children we did this!
Baraka haijui uzee kweli. Even Biblical Abraham was blessed with a son in old age. God is really great to bless this humble man after retirement indeed God's blessings have no time limit.

A great Kenyan indeed. The family combined unity, discipline plus God. I am inspired by this colleague teacher. Thanks Lynn.
Leadership from a Dad is great!. I love the Fear of God in him, surely we can do All things through Christ who strengthens us.

Good work Mr Kitonga, congratulations LYNN NGUGI for showing us This magnificent Mbiuni village

am so challenged and fascinated at the same time. Nilhama kwetu kwa sababu ilikuwa ni mlimani and even when my father was sharing land among his children I declined to take my share and told him to give it to my other siblings. I do not regret my decision, however its important to note that there is no rocky, swampy, hilly or bad land. God created land to look beautiful the ways its is. My uncle told me, "you can live anywhere provided you do not fall sick". That is good work mzee, Congratulations
You sound foolish for not wanting land just coz it's hilly. There's a lot I can do with just a hill
Three principles
1.Fear of the lord
2.Appreciating others
3.Beleiving yourself

I have dreamed about something similar for where I come because of similar topography. I am in the diaspora right now but I will visit this place without a doubt. Thank you Lynn Ngugi for this inspiring episode!
Majestic Perfection. What a beautiful resort. Built so nicely with mother earth. Wonderful legacy for the family and generation of Mr. Kitonga. Sir your family has you to thank for raising them well and giving them good sense of work ethic and morals. Ms. Lynn broadcast his resort as much as you can ; a great place for meetings, get togethers, team bonding and what they call "stay vacation" Hope those who are so excited about getting a green card, they hear what Mr. Kitonga is advising. You must work in Europe or US, and often you have to work at jobs that are below your credentials. You are responsible for all your expenses (food, clothing, shelter, transport, education, etc.,)
Incredible ! Big Up to MrKitonga &the family . This is magical 👏
I was at the resort last month, the views are amaizing, food tasty and very friendly staff. Will definately be back
