Thanks for the short, sweet video, Justin. I'm a new user of the C70 and have never used a LUT. Probably a stupid question but if I shoot a scene in CLOG 2 and then put a LUT on it in camera, will that scene and LUT transfer to premier pro or other video editors or do I lose the LUT when I load the video up to the editor?
Definitely appreciate this tutorial. If you don't want it to burn into your footage, I made a short about how to only apply it to your LCD. Just don't turn the Look File on and make one of your quick buttons "LUT:LCD". Boom, now you can turn it on and off at will without effecting your footage.
I've been looking and waiting for a video like this, definitely helpful! When I try to load a LUT I get "Process terminated with error" prompted up. Any idea why this may happen?
Hey dude, when I get to the step to register the luts I get an error saying "process terminated with error" and it doesn't let me load them, do you know what's happening with this?
@@JustinRomeyn It's Griffin Conways C70 Luts i'm trying to install with the file names "GC-_MIDNIGHT.cube" as example! I'm still having no luck, I followed all the steps and I can scroll through all the luts when i'm in the menu but when I go to register any of them I get that error
@@JustinRomeyn it says unprotected on the menu then if I set it to protected it doesn't let me select anything, i'm a bit of a Lut novice in case there's something I haven't done properly on the computer! The files should totally work though, I was watching one of Griffin's videos and he had them all saved in his picture profiles
@@ChrisSchieritz can you send me a screenshot of your picture profile before you try to add the LUT and the error message you get when you try to add it?
i was able to generate a lut using film nitrate however now when i generate a 33 cube lut from film nitrate the camera has an error and resolve cant open it

Hey what about adding a different raw picture profile in general? When I do these steps my Register button is greyed out.

If you add the LUT on the footage like I broke down in this vid it will “bake” it into the footage

Not yet! Only for the built-in LUT that they give you as a display assist. Hopefully in the future firmware update Cannon fixedness

when u record baked in luts does the screen still show a flat clog 3 look until u upload it to pr or Final Cut pro?
Nope it treats the viewing and playback as if it’s the converted Rec 709 image
so after I select the lut in the cp(custom picture ) file ..what gamma/color space do I select ?

Griffin Conway luts won’t work. Any idea why?
Wait so are these luts just previews like on the Gh5, or will my footage have the luts on it when I export from my camera?

Does this bake the lut into your footage or just preview it for you on the lcd/monitor? If the former, couldn't you just easily apply the LUT in post?
Adding the LUT this way will bake the LUT into your footage!

Hmmm not exactly sure since I’ve never had this issue. Is your LUT for sure a 33 point cube?

So I got to the final step, but instead of loading it in, it gave an error, and didn’t load it. Have you run across this problem?
