Have been needing THIS VIDEO for years! Seriously thank you so much for putting this together. So much complicated info about these lots finally cleared up in a short video, great visuals, literally 10/10 production thank you!!
OMG! Dude. This is the video I’ve been l👀king for. I saw the free vs paid clog2 luts first but I was l👀king for an explanation of all the luts in that canon release folder and you made it all so quick and simple for me. I have an R5/Ninja V setup and I’m a still shooter learning video. I can create clog2 non raw footage in my ninja recorder so now I’m going to go back and see the free vs paid video again. Thank you!
Man, can't say enough about the work you do for this community. Love the detail and time you spend putting these together. It helps us all get a little bit better each day behind the camera. If you ever wanted to do a video on effective one-man-band lighting setups, I definitely would not be opposed to that.
Great vid! I'd almost argue that shooting in CLOG 3 on the R5 looks way too magenta with Cinema Gamut, but BT.709 converts really well. CinemaGamut for Clog 2 for sure!
Hi I watch all your videos and somehow I didn’t know this was a thing. 5mo later I am now just seeing this for the first time. YOU’RE A GOD SEND😭😭😭😭😭😭 thank you so much I’ve racked my brain over this all year how did yt not push this video to me. Thank you so much
This was a really solid explanation. Great work all around. This popped up into my recommended and you did a great job explaining things properly and not overcomplicating it.
Useful stuff! Do you the R5C will come close to C70 for that lovely cinematic look? I've found the Rs to be too digitally sharp and contrasty, with Clog3 but love the convenience....
Why DOES banding happen? I'm seeing it on my Canon M200 shooting in C-Log 3 in OBS with a LUT I made from Davinci Resolve after color correcting it to look as good as possible. No banding in Resolve, but banding in OBS. What happened?
I have a question, why use a lut to take those beautiful cinema gamut color and convert to rec 709 ? I can see a big difference in colors when i apply a Rec 709 lut on my Cinema Gamut footage, i feel like simply adding contrast and saturation manually is way better than converting to rec 709, don't you think ?
It's not really that simple. Adding linear contrast isn't ideal because the log curve isn't linear. Gerald Undone has a great video going into more detail I can link ruclips.net/video/-PWcMjIjCbI/видео.html
Do I need these if I record in Rec 709? The LUT Canonlog3 _16-to-DCI_FF_Ver.2.0 seems to be working great for my R6M2 footage. Better than anything I've used just judging by the eye and not anything else.
Video is amazing, very informational. Thank you for that. I have a question, the EOS R only shoots C-LOG; would the C-LOG2 and 3 LUTS still work fine? Or would maybe 3 be closer to what's needed perhaps? This folder of Canon LUTS is what's under the EOS R's product page too under software lol, Thanks!
Thank you for this video, I've been trying to get my head around the LUT files when I downloading them last month, but there were so many, I gave up. I've got the EOS R, which only shoots in C LOG, not C LOG 2 or C LOG 3. Which LUTs should I use?
your content is odd and not what iam used to. sometimes you give an answer that works 80% of the time other times an answer thats wrong... but the difference is you usually dont explain on the first time why that is unless you do some investigation and come up with an answer which you will adress in a later video and explain why that is and if it is a different answer than your previous then why this is correct and how you were incorrect. which is cool and slightly unsettling. feels like getting advice from a colleague heheheheh.
@@SoundItOutFilms well off the top of my head how you found out in a later video the parallax effect due to the distance from the first lens opening to the subject. which is something only for nerds or technicalities. they might not be only mistakes but also things you didnt use or discover aswell. if im not mistaken you also had a couple of issues with the C70 that was addressed in a later video aswell. these are cool. when a channel is too positive it feels very fixed and scripted and not made based on the viewers experience. dont get me wrong im new to your channel only cuz i considered buying a C70 and my feed got filled with your content so im not quite familiar. i withheld my purchase incase there was a 5D MkII and i was right it came out and now i can be sure than C70 is not a bad choice. oh one more thing... most C70 videos are old and update dependent. each one adressed an issue or two or the release. none exist as a 2024 review of the C70 as a fresh camera with a fresh paid of eyes of what it can do.

I got reply from Phantom luts saying, he's going to release lut for Canon line up in few month.
I am a total beginner in color LUTS and your video was GOLD to me: clear, easy, complete. Thank you soo much!

THANK YOU! I haven't been able to fully understand all those, and now I do! I have a C70, and watching your content has really helped! Thanks dude!
This is so helpful. I come to Sound It Out Films to make sense of things I've been confused about for years 👏👏👏
@canon should embed this on the LUTs page, and probably give you a camera or something

What a great vid to explain all this confusion especially Canon's naming convention. Thanks a million for this.
Man, I love your videos! The vibe, the speed, the length. Just perfect. Thanks for this video especially
Excellent break down - many questions answered. Thank you!!!
This was the best break down pertaining to luts!! Great job!!

You analyze and explain things so well!
This was a really solid explanation. Great work all around. This popped up into my recommended and you did a great job explaining things properly and not overcomplicating it.
Such a high quality channel. Great content.
Please make a video about how you balance your c70 on a ronin s
I actually did! Check past uploads
Another video with fantastic information. Keep up the great work!
I just download these luts from the canon website I was so confused untill this video thank you so much man you have no idea 😅😅😅
Fantastic breakdown as always!! Thanks for sharing your wisdom with us.
Very helpful explanation and examples thank you 💚
Thanks. Another great video walking us through something that may not be a given to all of us. I love deleting non-essential extraneous BS...
Fabulous! This is one are where I've often struggled and you've sorted me out with this video Thank you. :-)
Again very very helpful, very straightforward and clear. Thanks!!
Useful stuff! Do you the R5C will come close to C70 for that lovely cinematic look? I've found the Rs to be too digitally sharp and contrasty, with Clog3 but love the convenience....
How the heck do I save my luts to the camera? Whenever I format my sd card, the luts are gone.

Thanks so much man, this is exactly what I needed
Great info. Quick. Efficient. This helped me.
great video as always.
You rock! Thanks so much for this video -- really helped to clear things up for me, and just the right amount of information.
Finally somebody explained it for me thank you!

Thanks for the Information. Cool Video 🙌🏻

Hi do you bother with these conversion luts when using davinci. Do you just use the CST?
Nope! But I personally only round trip to DaVinci for really important projects and lean on LUTs for everything in Premiere.

Haha, I'm always learning! Just curious what wrong advice have I given? I want to make sure I have a pinned comment in that video if I don't already.
