One of my favorite Mozart Symphonies!! My most favorite though are his last three symphonies. Out of those last three I would say 41 is my most favorite out of the three.
Every interpretation I hear of this beautiful symphony only increases my fondness of it. Mozart, what a composer. I find this recording to be very 'masculine', I love it.
Listening to a BBC programme on the Haffner symphony on the radio whilst looking at your copy of the autograph manuscript from the Morgan Library in New York. Lovely combination and I appreciate the detailed notes too. Dank u wel meneer!
It's a common melody from the 18th/19th century You can hear it in thousands of pieces in diff. keys. It even appears in partimenti exercises, which was the way they learned music back then
Why are there so many editions that mark the first movement as alla breve? Did Mozart retroactively catalogue this at some point ca. 1786 and mark it alla breve there? When Jean-Pierre Marty published his manuscript on Mozart's tempo indications, he mentioned that the sixteenth notes in the clarinet's opening phrase force the movement into being perceived as having four beats in that measure. The first movement of the Haffner presents a similar case. I came here because I'm now listening to DG's Mozart 225 edition of the Haffner, and I'm more convinced by their chosen tempo for the first movement (likely using the NMA edition) than by recordings that take the first movement faster (as the "incorrect" alla breve sign would tempt those pre-NMA conductors to do).
@@bartjebartmans Interesting how he chooses the staves of the instruments, one that aids his composing, rather than the standard format a conductor would see.
Andante 5:39
Minuetto 12:12
Presto 15:10

5:22 One of the motifs from the Jupiter Symphony (a resemblance, the Jupiter motif has two added notes)
Similar thing in piano concerto 27

Thanks for the autograph score. Awesome.
Gracias por compartir. Esta sinfonia hace que mi alma sonria sin incluso tener una boca. Gracias.

On this video screen is this Mozart Symphony No. 35 In D Major, K.385 manuscript?
Yes it is his handwriting.

Is it just me? It feels like hand-written scores are easier and simpler to understand than the computerized ones.
don't know how much Beethoven music influence by this symphony. Presto look like orchestration half of Beethoven symphonies.
How did u get these scores?
Many are in public access on IMSLP.
