To be honest here in Canada the second hand market is insanely overpriced, people sell used stuff for 50 bucks cheaper than brand new... and think it’s a good deal. It’s insane, I see shit on my watch list overpriced for about a year and still going.

Every time I sell my camera stuff I price it to sell. My ZV-1 with Crane M2 combo sold within 30 minutes of eBay listing. The gimbal was basically free, including 3 extra official Sony batteries (not the knockoffs ewwww) and the Lens Mate filter holder. My prices are so good people sometimes think it's a scam but my 5 star eBay rating doesn't lie. I always provide a link to an unlisted video showing the item in detail as well (not just pictures on the eBay page). I like to sell things at a lower price to give someone a good deal :)

Because I don't like second hand stuff so much, so to make something used more appealing, the price must be appealing too. If the difference between new and used is just 100 dollars or euros or whatever, I'll go for the new with absolutely 0 hesitation. Used stuff have a lot less value to me, so the price should be according to. You want me to buy second hand? You must convince me with the good leverage, price.

I pounced on Oly 7-14/2.8 for $500 and it came with dents! Actually just a couple of scratches on the barrel so no big deal. When I was looking, I saw many ridiculous listings. I really hate it when they include the MSRP + tax to justify their high asking price.
you gotta branch out from Kijiji and get yourself a Facebook account and shop on their marketplace, I'm also in the Toronto area and find there are more deals to be had that you won't find on Kijiji, I pretty much only buy and sell now on Fartbook Marketplace.
