Great content guys! Totally agree with this and that's 17 years of pro email marketing talking. We've generated $1M+ for a client with a single email (actually two emails for a single event) so it's definitely possible - but that's was harvesting results of lots of work. Craft them carefully, add value for your audience, make sure they are mobile responsive, have an authentic voice that matches your brand, create and USE a checklist, and prepare weeks in advance. Also think about your email like episodes of a season of TV - it should stand on its own but be a part of a bigger story. And here's a pro tip: NEVER launch your email on the same day you finish it. EVER. It's always 10 minutes after it goes out that do the head slap.

Loved the entire thing. I respectively disagree with his last point on
"being done" with writing things out by hand because he tried it and
didn't like it. There's tons of things I don't like doing but I have to
to get where I want. The myth that everything in your life can be your
passion and you don't have to tough it out sometimes is just a myth. I
believe those who tough it out and actually suck it up and write it out
by hand will get ahead of those who are too lazy.

The only thing left out was if you were getting started today what would you do. The Reddit story from the blog kicks ass, but since advertising is insane, especially on Reddit, what would you do to grow the list through offers TODAY!?

Wow. I've been following you for years and listening to your podcast for months. I was really impressed when you said recently how RUclips brings in viewers in a way that Podcasts don't (in your Thank-You episode). But this bit about how you go into sales calls, was awesome. I'm curious, however, why you never do youtube ads, since I see them all the time on FB. I don't really know a lot about RUclips ads, but I know you can retarget people who have watched your videos. IMO, you're cultivating a group of people who are deep into entrepenuership and other marketing. I'd buy you, but can't afford $300+ / mo right now. But I'm a little curious why an avid viewer like me (and viewed your product pages x+ times, hasn't seen more targeted deeper funnel ads). And good to see the guy who runs Sumo now! Get him on the podcast.
