@@RaulGarcia-cg3vn Tacoma if you are going to 1) tow near the 5k Ridgeline limit with any kind of regularity. Not that the RL can't do it, but an I.S. rear end set-up is not as good for the task as solid axle + leaf spring + frame. 2) Suspension lift + big tires, or unlike most of the people with those 2 items, actually do some serious 4 wheeling. RL AWD is up to task (vids will prove), but ground clearance isn't, and unibody suspension / big tire combo's are "finicky" 3) Care about "Bro Cred" or hang Huevo's from trailer hitch. That doesn't work on a Ridgeline. It's like a Prius with a Trump sticker. If none of these are important to you, and especially if you value driving dynamics that the others can't touch, then Ridgeline is solid choice. Also, in my case, and kind of relating to 3, I enjoy the "IDGAF what you think about my truck" vibe of the Honda.

As an owner of a 22 Ridgeline, I realized what the actual function of the manifold cover is: To protect the owner from the increased chance of a brain aneurism occurring from simply casting eyes upon the ugliest intake manifold in automotive history. I call it "The Medusa". But once you get accustomed to looking at it, and see it with the eyes of a child ("...don't stare honey...it's not polite...."), it's beautiful. I mean, damn; even the thing covering the ugly thing is ugly.
But for people who appreciate cars, and engines, and good engineering, this lump is gorgeous. It's also a big part of I bought this truck (yes Skeeter, it is a truck...), and "now", when new vehicles are basically selling for sticker.
Who knows how long before the inevitable occurs, and it's replaced with a 2 liter turbo'd inline 4 that puts out numbers that look the same (or better) on paper, but feel nowhere near the same in the seat of the pants, and makes noises that motorcycles make. That motor will come with the shortened longevity of forced induction, 13:1 compression, and pistons that travel 1.33x (?) further than J series pistons during their lifetime. This engine design began in 1996 - 27 years old! Not many things last that long in the automotive world, and if one does, there's a reason.

My 2018 Honda Ridgeline had 5 safety recalls, made noises and was in the shop for 10 days and honda couldn't find the source and said just keep driving it it may wear down (which 5,000 miles it did) - also, the 2017-2019 ridgelines have a defect with the engines where fuel injectors are pushed in to far and clog up. Many blogs talk about this and around 50k miles i had to get mine fully replaced because check-engine emission light came on. Lots of folks have this issue. Also the 2017-2019 power train (transmission) is used on the ridgleine/odessy and pilot all have many issues with failing between 50k-70k and it costs about 5k repair. I got rid of my 2018 honda ridgeline this January of 2023 and traded it in for a Mazda. I don't miss it at all, A few weeks after dumping it i got an email of yet another recall regarding tailgate camera. So happy don't have to bring that dang thing back into the shop to waste hours for another warrenty repair. Anyway, Honda Civics and the Honda CRV have different teams and they are reliable, for me the Honda Ridgeline had the most recalls then any vehicle i ever owned and I had zero confidence it was going to last. When I drove it all i kept thing was "what's the next thing to go wrong". I am so happy i got rid of it, and not ever buying another Honda again, it was a painful experience.

Look up the Alex on Autos review of the Ridgeline from 2017, he demonstrated the ability to put 3 car seats in the rear, any combo of forward or rear facing. I have had 2 car seats in mine starting with a rear and front facing, and now onto their high-backed boosters (big Graco units) and there is room for my six-foot tall self to sit in between them. Without the car seats, I can have the front seat adjusted for myself to have my legs pretty relaxed and still have plenty of knee room in the rear if I sit behind my seat. Not surprising given the Honda has the largest cab dimensions of any mid-sized truck, it is almost identical in size to a Silverado double-cab.

Your transmission sucks and numerous issues with it, as long as you don't hual much or drive it hard you may get a good life out of it, if you tow or load up the bed - it's just a matter of time.
