According to Mel C in her book, about Victoria: “I always wished she was more confident as a performer. She’s so much better than she thinks or allows people to believe.”
Her vocal coach said it best. Victoria sometimes struggled to find “her voice”, but when she did, she was awesome and had a very sultry sound. Shes always been my favorite because her vocals were so different.
I think it's because she was originally trained as a theatrical singer? So she has that deep and sultry tone.. But she definitely kiilled all harmonies, fit perfectly! Listen to Viva Forever stems, her part in the chorus is amazing...
Victoria didn’t get to record wannabe with the other girls. However, when you hear the chorus they added her parts in. You clearly hear the distinction and without Victoria, that Spice Girl sound would be missing. They were all important.
Very true. She doesn’t need to have a great soloist vocal for close harmony… and harmony was the main feature of the Spice Girls’ sound. Whoever put them together originally did well, their voices blend really nicely. People /always/ underestimate the altos!
She did a lot of the lower harmony. In fact, she has the most vocals on a lot of the songs, especially Spice Up Your Life. She sings every part, even lower melody with Sporty (if your having a good time-if you know that you feel fine).

Her voice is OK, certainly not terrible, but not particularly strong either. A better “test” would be hearing her sing a cappella, without any backing at all - and with no effects on her voice. Nothing to hide behind.

Was not a matter of being borring. She just had the other face of the beauty privilege, that is to say "she is pretty = she must be here for her look". However, yes, her vocals were essentials to the band, not because it carried songs but because it added another layer and make them richer.

I think she got so overlooked bc she was pegged as the “hot” one. Being in higher stilettos, “looking sexy” instead of wild, etc made her a little boring to the camera. She got less attention than the Mels, Geri, and even Emma, bc she literally wasn’t kicking, flipping, and dipping all over the stage. She wasn’t dressed for it! 😂🤣 All the girls were equally talented in different ways, but she often carried them vocally!!
LOL. Vicky didn't carry them vocally.
Uh… no. Victoria ain’t gonna be carrying anyone vocally anytime soon. Her voice is not that strong live.
Her voice is OK, certainly not terrible, but not particularly strong. She’s being boosted by a lot of audio engineering tricks (yes, it’s possible to do that live - I’m a vocalist). But then again, that’s true for all of them. None of them are *great* singers, but they’re serviceable for this type of bubblegum pop, especially with the support of audio technology.
Vicky can Sing
Totally❤.
I love her voice she's pretty good actually😊

No offense to Geri but her parts sound better in Vic's voice.
Well yeah, in 2 Become 1 for example
Geri is not a bad singer but she back then couldn't sing the same notes as Victoria
I don't know why she didn't get any major lines in the songs because she has a awesome voice and it doesn't matter what key she sings In she does a great job at it even if her voice is lower but I find scary spice to be the lower voice Victoria has like the medium voice everybody else has the same or the higher core lower does it matter they all sound great I don't know why she didn't get more parts in the songs
I think she's quite good ,I've heard worse

I'm agree with you ❤
I love her she's cool
I’ve heard worse and they are pop singers not serious vocalists. They all brought their personality I loved em. And atkeast it’s her singing rather than using another voice
