Man, I wish we had more powerful champions like Cynthia. Lance’s dragonites were a little annoying, sure, and Steven’s Metagross was pretty scary. But Cynthia’s entire team is just a pain in the ass to bring down. And don’t even get me started on Garchomp. Hell, even seeing that spiritomb at the beginning really opens your eyes to the type of trainer she is. And come to think of it, she still has the highest leveled Pokémon in the series as champion. Wow. Edit: Now that I think back, I believe Diantha’s Pokémon were slightly higher leveled. However, she was extremely easy to beat. And disclaimer, I’m referring to boss fights in the main story. No optional bosses or rematches, otherwise I’d be mentioning Red or Steven in Emerald.
Godot Rematch Steven is actually the highest levels champion, with a lvl 79 Metagross. If your talking about first battle, than Diantha has is the highest leveled with a 68 Gardevoir
Just like Gen 5 will always have a place in mine. We all have a favorite gen, there isnt really a point in arguing about the best gen. They are all good in their own ways
@@calebnelson58 I admit Iris gave me some trouble cuz she had Earthquake and Flamethrower to combat my Lucario with Ice punch and her theme is also imo better than Cynthia's but the start of Cynthia's theme strikes fear into my heart as I know whos theme that belongs to.
Gotta love how Cynthia's entire team works equally to face an opponent. Garchomp takes out Luxray and almost takes out Gengar. Togekiss picks up the weakened Gengar and his own Togekiss. Milotic takes out Alakazam. Roserade takes out Kricketune. There's a reason why people fear Cynthia. It's not just her Ace that's terrifying; her entire team is terrifying.
It was a close fight. Putting Togekiss to sleep probably saved Mixeli since a couple of Aura Spheres would have most likely beaten Empoleon if Togekiss was awake.
I agree with you instead of Pokémon BDSP we should have Pokémon Polished Platinum. With all important trainer animations, better soundtracks, same story, and an item that allows you to listen to the original soundtrack like from HeartGold. This is my vision
I'm still getting goosebumps when battling against Cynthia! The music is just perfect and fits the intense atmosphere when battlling her. Cynthias Garchomp was always faster then mine and I almost died when it attacked with Dragon Rush. It's the most exciting of all pokemon battles I can remember. I'm still waiting for a long-awaited Sinnoh Remake to have those feelings all over again.

Yeah, if you have an Ice Type move & an Icicle Plate or Never Melt Ice equipped to a Pokémon that can benefit from them, Garchomp is a piece of cake. It’s Togekiss that’s the real threat.
2:30 it’s so sick that she’s one of the few trainers throughout the series to actually predict you and switch to get advantage. In this video it seems you were ready for this as you clicked ice fang but nonetheless it’s so sick. I remember having such a fun time trying to play around her switching especially since she has such a well balanced team
the only unique pokemon he has on his team is kricketune lol. alakazam and gengar are fan favorites, luxray can be caught on the second route, empoleon is your starter, and togekiss is gifted to you very early on via an egg

I'm relieved that I'm not the only one my team Pokemon is underleved. Whew, that was the most epic I enjoyed this Pokemon game it makes me everlasting smile.
I still remember as a 8 year old kid when I first fought her, this was my first pokemon game and i knew it would be hard, but little did I know it would be the hardest fight this entire series has to offer. For the first time in my playthrough i had to really think, plan ahead and use every last bit of game knowledge I had acquired throughout my playthrough. I remember struggling as a kid til I finally beat Cynthia. My team iirc was Infernape, Luxray, Staraptor, Roserade...and 2 others I dont fully remember lol. Maybe Dialga & Bibarel lol
I remember when my older brother was playing Pokemon Pearl, and he thought that Lucian was the final boss, seeing as he's at the end of the Elite Four. But I told him that there was one more after that. Ahh, the memories. He did beat the game, but I don't know how long it took him to beat Cynthia. I think this is the greatest Champion battle in the series, besides the original Blue fight. :)
Long ago I had such trouble with her Garchomp. Thankfully, my Weevile was the only Pokemon that was faster than her Garchomp and I one shot her with Ice Beam. Don't ask why I had Ice Beam on Weevile.

My team Raichu Infernape Staraptor Roserade Floatzel Garchomp Took me 6 tries to beat her ( *has intense war flashbacks* ) I've gotta thank my good friend Kevin for giving me his platinum copy and giving me the opportunity to travel through sinnoh and battle one of the toughest champions in the series to date
My Platinum team was unorthodox. I got a damaged copy for cheap back in 2017 for Christmas, and since I had other gen 4 games i was able to plan ahead on which members I'd have. I ended up using Torterra, Feraligatr, Gardevoir, Weavile, Machamp and a shiny Staraptor. The Staraptor was my first ever shiny pokemon in Diamond as well as my first shiny caught via Pokeradar. The Machamp was the only pokemon I hadn't planned on using from the start, i just found a Machop outside Oreburgh City and just ran from there. She was one of my MVPs, consistently laying down Dynamicpunch after Dynamicpunch with No Guard. This team was the most fun to travel with out of my many Pokemon playthroughs, and you'd better believe I traded these pokemon to roms on an r4 card and back so i could back them up and never lose them.
I still find it pathetic, that they actually nerfed her for Platinum by reducing the level of all her Pokémons by 3-5. C‘mon guys, just git gud and stop whining as soon as a game gets challenging at a point.

I'm relieved that I'm not the only one my team Pokemon is underleved. Whew, that was the most epic I enjoyed this Pokemon game it makes me everlasting smile.

I still remember as a 8 year old kid when I first fought her, this was my first pokemon game and i knew it would be hard, but little did I know it would be the hardest fight this entire series has to offer. For the first time in my playthrough i had to really think, plan ahead and use every last bit of game knowledge I had acquired throughout my playthrough. I lost so many times to her before finally beating her after over an hour haha, pain....

I remember struggling as a kid til I finally beat Cynthia. My team iirc was Infernape, Luxray, Staraptor, Roserade...and 2 others I dont fully remember lol. Maybe Dialga & Bibarel lol
We had the same 4 Pokemon, but I also used a Kadabra and Togekiss (I wasn't picky back then)
I remember when my older brother was playing Pokemon Pearl, and he thought that Lucian was the final boss, seeing as he's at the end of the Elite Four. But I told him that there was one more after that. Ahh, the memories. He did beat the game, but I don't know how long it took him to beat Cynthia. I think this is the greatest Champion battle in the series, besides the original Blue fight. :)

Long ago I had such trouble with her Garchomp. Thankfully, my Weevile was the only Pokemon that was faster than her Garchomp and I one shot her with Ice Beam. Don't ask why I had Ice Beam on Weevile.

I've gotta thank my good friend Kevin for giving me his platinum copy and giving me the opportunity to travel through sinnoh and battle one of the toughest champions in the series to date
My Platinum team was unorthodox. I got a damaged copy for cheap back in 2017 for Christmas, and since I had other gen 4 games i was able to plan ahead on which members I'd have. I ended up using Torterra, Feraligatr, Gardevoir, Weavile, Machamp and a shiny Staraptor. The Staraptor was my first ever shiny pokemon in Diamond as well as my first shiny caught via Pokeradar. The Machamp was the only pokemon I hadn't planned on using from the start, i just found a Machop outside Oreburgh City and just ran from there. She was one of my MVPs, consistently laying down Dynamicpunch after Dynamicpunch with No Guard. This team was the most fun to travel with out of my many Pokemon playthroughs, and you'd better believe I traded these pokemon to roms on an r4 card and back so i could back them up and never lose them.
