Pretty close to mine's aswell I had -Typholsion -Lapras -Ampharos -Fearow -Heracross -Espeon These 6 helped me beat Lance quite easily, however in the 2nd Run (Rematch), it was a nightmare. At the time my pkmns were only on the mid 50's and Lance's Garchomp sweeped my intire team with outrage. After grinding for hours I chalenged him again and I still loss to his Dragonite. Took me 6 tries until I defeated him with only one pkmn remaning

I was so proud to have obtained a dragonite on my own. Defeating the three of his with mine felt great. Especially since mine was at the proper level, and his wasn’t.
I started my journey in Johto back in 2012. I honestly haven't touched my game in years. It was only this year that I decided to replay this game and beat the champion along with Sun and Red on my 3DS VC in honour of Ash leaving the Pokemon anime. This morning, I finally beat Lance with my Feraligatr, Vulpix, Pupitar, Weepinbell, Magneton and Lugia, all at level 50. I even dedicated the final blow to Ash. Several times in fact because either the attacks weren't as effective as I thought or Lance used a full restore. Yes, after several years, I have finally beat Soulsilver, Sun and Red. Maybe not 100% complete, but I completed the main stories in each and that was my goal for this year.
My Johto team is Typhlosion, Feraligatr, Jolteon, Espeon, Tyranitar, Dragonite. Got an egg shortly after receiving Cyndaquil which hatched into Totodile, later got a Jolteon to take out Whitney's Miltank.

@@NoahgotLEGO Gen 5's music styling & graphics were superior to Gen 4. The battles in Gen 4 took for... ev... ver... The 3D aspects in Gen 5 were better than Gen 4. You'd have the Gen 5 Pokémon in the Gen 2 games which gives even more variety, & finally if a lot of the mechanics that were done in HGSS had been done while it was in Gen 5, there is no doubt that HGSS would be the greatest Pokémon game of all time. Unfortunately it was in Gen 4, which did have the most problems in terms of game play, so that is what holds HGSS back a bit despite it's greatness.

I can’t even get past the elite 4 unless I have a team hanging on for deer life. Then I’m here with a 5hp ho-oh, 7hp starter, dead amphoros, dead gyarados, yellow hp who will die in 1 hit graveler and underleveled noctowl.
i completed this with a very similar team to the one i used in my first completed run of crystal - Typhlosion - Fearow - Ampharos - Heracross - Espeon - Lapras
of course its similar..... 1. starter pokemon 2. early route rat/bird (pidgey, spearow, bellsprout, sentret, etc.) 3. the 'cool pokemon' of the region (pseudo legends or favourites, e.g. arcanine, exeggutor, heracross, etc.) 4. eevee's evolution 5. rare pokemon that doesnt always appear
Personally, I would keep this team at all times except two members: Lugia and Sudowoodo. I would replace them with Heracross and Tyranitar to balance things out more.
