  • This is my opinion on the Dufy MACH V1 Ultra. So many reviews praising it but none that really talk about issues.
    *Updates*
They are sending me a new Roller brush and a new cleaner tank to see what happens. I def do not think it's going to do anything but I'll try.
    Update 11/6/23
I received a replacement unit on August 25th. It def does spin the brush a little during the drying period so thats good. But you do have to then trigger a second dry cycle when its done (pull the trigger and hold for a few seconds it will trigger a dry only cycle)
However, It doesnt seem to really be cleaning the brush very well or the floors very much. I suspect it's the "mix" of cleaning fluid.
I filled the cleaning reservoir to the max line when I got it on the 25th of August. I use it once a week for the floors and the past 5 weeks almost 2-3 times a day to clean up after my dog with pee issues. So it's been used a lot. However, the cleaning soulution tank is only 1/3 -1/2 gone. By now that should have been emptied numerous times. Their mix is off and theres really nothing I can do about it.
They state it's super concentrated. However, the bottle clearly contradicts that. They told me most cleaners are 80% water and theirs is not. However the bottle states:
"At least 30% water and less than 5% of xxxxx". So they state that the entire bottle is less than 5% cleaners. So it's just like any other cleaner then. So after 2.5 months of use, only have used around a few mils of fluid is wrong. Since the fluid is unscented you cant tell if it's being used or not. However having to clean up dog pee on the regular, you would think the cleaner would clean the brush it doesn't. I have to manually clean the brush weekly right now because it still smells like dog pee.

Update. I was walking past the mop and thought I was hallucinating. I have a very keen sense of smell. The roller brush is always cleaned and dried every use. Well let me tell you it REEKS of mildew. I have not used it in a week. The brush roller felt mostly dry on top but the bottom side felt damp still. And it smelled like mildew really bad. It was so bad that the smell was on my hands and I had to go, wash my hands to get it off. I will definitely be contacting the company on Monday about this because that is unacceptable if it is supposed to be cleaning itself

      How’d contacting the company go?

@@dominiquecarter9304 they replace the unit anyways. This unit does spin the brush just a little bit while it’s drying over the course of 45 minutes. But it’s still slightly damp and there’s still water built up in the upper cover plate. For now I just take the cover off and pull the brush out when I’m not using it. I still don’t have to actually manually clean the brush so that’s still helps lol.

Thank you for your HONEST review! It's the only one I could find.

Oh it's way worse I should do another video. Countless hours of cleaning and I have used maybe an ounce of cleaner. Overall it works great for cleaning up messes quickly like my dogs puke and pee when it happens but in NO WAY does it clean itself at all. You have to double clean it, double dry it then take the cover off and put it outside. It's honestly cool and neat but not right and they never push updates so all my complaints were ignored. Just have influencers getting it free and making videos. Sigh. but I digress and you are welcome.

@@tjjohnsen9740 I'm not sure what you initially paid for it, but based on what I've seen, it ranged from $600 to $1400 upon its release. However, at the time of writing this, you can now buy it for $299 after a $350 discount on the Eufy website (which tells me it's failing). What are your thoughts on its current price? Do you believe it's worth it?

Hi TJ thanks for your unbiased review.
So it seems sometimes these smart cleaning solutions arent as complete as they’re advertised. Do you have another update, particularly with regards to the self cleaning aspect?
    MUCH appreciated 🎉

So they are sending me a new roller brush to replace the disgusting one that smells like mildew. They are also supposed to be sending me a new cleaning tank because they say there’s a part missing off the bottom of mine. It still doesn’t address the fact that it turns into mildew so I don’t know what they’re doing about that. I’m still waiting.

Hey TJ, so I went ahead and bought the mach, about a week ago. Everything was perfect until about 2 days ago when we were hit with that putrid smell out of nowhere. Quite disappointed tbh.
It seems like from Eufy’s response they’re not really addressing the issue by sending you a new roller, especially since there’s already a spare roller with it.
Im considering contacting eufy but was curious where your heads at? Would you be looking to return the mach? Perhaps get another product on the market?
      Let me know! Cheers😊

@@HamzaKhan-xr7rw Well they sent me the new roller and a new cleaning fluid tank. Because mine was missing a part. I like the unit overall and I like the fact that I dont have to mix fluids etc like I do with my other cleaners. I think what I will be doing is just taking the cover off after "drying" and take the roller out to fully dry. It may be ugly looking but my existing Bissell crosswise once its on the stand, the rollers hang out on the side standing up anyway so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Either way id be looking at that. Honestly it works well for most things so far and other than it not drying and cleaning the roller 100% I like the concept. Since I dont have to mix the fluid and I dont have to chase a cord around, I think I am going to keep it. To follow up on the smell. I took a mix of bleach and water and cleaned al the components on the unit really well. That got rid of the smell all over the machine at least. Since they sent me a replacement roller I trashed the other one. But someone recommended soaking in a bleach and water mixture in a bucket for a bit and that would have killed the mildew and odor. After that just take the cover off, pull the roller out, leave the cover off till next time and just store the roller to the side standing up to dry fully. Thats my recommendation going forward. Sorry for the long response lol

Thanks for all the info. Do you have any reason to believe a new roller will behave any differently? I just found out about this thing and I’m trying to do my research. I’m very intrigued for cleaning kitchen / hard floors on a common basis, but the self cleaning procedure feels like it might be too good to be true. I really want to believe! It would be worth it’s weight in gold if it works.

@@snusmumriken232 it cleans itself pretty well. I’d say well enough to clean daily or whatever. The ew roller is just a replacement. The flaw is that it doesn’t dry 100% and if they actually listen to feedback there’s a way for it to dry 100% until then. After cleaning and drying just take the cover off and pull the roller out and set upright to the side. If you clean every day or every other day you might not even notice this issue. I only mop once a week and that’s why it built up like that. Hope that helps. It’s a great machine overall though!
