Andy is well known for his both painful and painfully funny puns, I look forward to the looks of agony and reluctant respect of the art on Greggs face as the series unfolds.
Jack Dee in particular is inspired casting. His dead pan sarcastic perpetually annoyed personality Will clash amazingly with Greg. Also I highly recomend Lead Balloon, his brilliant sitcom
I have seen a bit of hate online about Rosie's casting, unfortunately. But I imagine everyone involved in deciding to book her was aware of the foolery she's faced before and rightly decided they don't care about the viewership of the people foolerying over her. I hope she had a wonderful time, and I hope her haters die mad about it.
Yeah that happens every time she's in anything, so it's kinda unavoidable, but I doubt it's significant enough to actually affect the viewership. Though I admit I have a hard time following her sometimes because I don't always understand what she's saying, but that's more of a me problem, as a non-native speaker I've a hard time understanding some Scots too for example. What I'm hoping will happen at least once is that if and when a task is too difficult for her physique, she can then put Alex in tough spot for trying to "embarrass a disabled person" or something. Making Alex suffer is a major part of the charm, after all. Also it would probably make those haters even more mad as a bonus.
@@odkres Oh, there's nothing wrong with having trouble understanding a person--I grew up speaking English in the U.S., but if I travel far enough within the country, I might struggle to understand another native speaker. Accents and regional slang are a real challenge. And I wouldn't be surprised if Rosie does something similar to what you're suggesting. A lot of her humor comes from challenging conceptions about people with disabilities by acting rude, bossy, and/or sociopathic. I'm sure she'll have plenty of abilities to display her humor throughout the series.
I'm not familiar with any of them but that happens in every NZ season and 80% of the UK contestents too so I'm not concerned. I'm sure I will love them within an episode or 2.
Andy is STILL the main scorer and statistician for Test Match Special on Radio 5 Live so he can be heard live on that when the men's Test team are in action. He may be best known for the Bugle, but trust me he LOVES his TMS gig a whole lot more, cause cricket is what keeps him alive frankly. And that's my assessment as a distant Canadian
I'm paraguayan, I speak Spanish so it will be fun for me to have it come back on a task. Thank you for this, I've been a fan of british tv for like 4 years but I still didn't know 2 of the contestants, but they all sound wonderful and I'm sure this is going to be a hilarious series, can't wait!
Zaltzman is an inspired selection. Brilliant. Intelligent. Sardonic. Funny. Master of satire and pun obsessed. His podcast The Bugle is a must. He is a statistician and cricket tragic. Quirky and perfectly eccentric.
Can't wait to see Rosie. I'll never forget the first time I came across her. It was on a panel show on Dave and she had both me and my brother crying with laughter, something she's done many times since
I'm really hoping the two person team is Jack Dee and Andy Zaltzman. That would cause there to be such a huge contrast between the teams. I'd love it. Also, yes! I have been wanting Chris McCausland to be on Taskmaster for a while now. Yes, there would need to be many accommodations made for him, but I think it would be totally worth it. Lenny Rush is a great example of tasks needing to be made accessible for all players. Another example could also be Tofiga Fepulea'i from Taskmaster NZ series 5. He apparently needed Paul to help him with a lot of the tasks due to health issues. And both players are a great joy to watch in Taskmaster.
I feel sorry for Rosie in regards to the hate she receives. As an American, I had no idea. She is on so many panel shows that I assumed she was quite popular, but she's clearly got some good friends in the industry. When I found out she'd be on Taskmaster, I was a bit concerned, but I don't think they'll make any more orbless a fool of her as they do any other contrstant.
Babatunde Aleshe was also in an episode of Doctor Who. He was in the first episode that James Corden was in. I look forward to seeing him on Taskmaster, he's a funny guy.
Wow, so sad to hear that Rosie receives so much hate. I find her hilarious and always a great addition to any show she appears on. Rosie was the one I was most excited to see in the announcement. This seems like a great lineup.
This series lineup is probably the one I'm least familiar with (UK version at least). I only really know Jack Dee and Rosie Jones well. And I'm looking forward to seeing how both approach the show. I think it's very telling that all of the negativity is aimed at Rosie. Yes, she's somewhat ubiquitous at the moment, but she's not the first, nor will she be the las, comic to make the most of the lack of imagination of panel show bookers and make hay while the sun is shining. It's clear from the nature of the hate it's got nothing to do with her abilities as a comedian.
Saying Rosie Jones is a bit cheeky is an understatement. Probably the bluest comedian among British panel shows besides Jimmy Carr. I am not her hugest fan but I think she'll be great, especially when she fucks with Alex
I predict that Jack will be Greg's punching bag for the series. Or Andy. It depends on who's more rubbish. But Jack has the air of David Baddiel about him... 😂
Can't believe the number of people who have said "shan't be watching" when Rosie was announced. She's literally going to be fannying around with eggs and rubber ducks, and will be on people's screens for like 15% of the show. If that's enough for people to turn off, they don't deserve Taskmaster
I don't think people dislike Rosie because of her disability. But, because she is loud, obnoxious, and rude. She cuts people off and takes over conversations. I think Rosie is intelligent, does good work, and at times is interesting, but rarely funny. She worked well as investigative reporter on the Joe Lycett show. No one should ever send hate mail.
@TheCatLady65 if you continue to call legitimate criticism misogyny, the word loses all meaning, and you won't be taken seriously. There's plenty of actual awful comments about Rosie elsewhere, go shake your fist at them instead.
@@TheCatLady65 My opinion is, I don't find loud, obnoxious "shock factor comedians" to be funny, whatever their gender. You're funny to call me misogynistic, not knowing me. I like woman. I am a woman. I like men too, and animals, including cats. And I like Rosie, when she tones it down.
I like her because she's very, very funny. There are a lot of louder, more obnoxious comics out there that get zero online hate and I am in no doubt that most of the hate she gets stems from her disability, or at least that she's only successful because of her disability. This is wrong as she was successful in TV before she was a comic. People rarely say this because they know how unacceptable it sounds so they think of other excuses.
Emma's great - I first saw her in Pls Like, which also features OG TM contestant Tim Key and is a very funny show (and can still be found on iPlayer). I have high hopes for this series as am also a big fan of Andy, Jack and Rosie. Babatunde seems like he'll be fun too.
As an American who has been diving deeply into British humor for years, I am surprised and dismayed by the lack of familiar with Andy Zaltzman, who has been one of the most brilliant comedians on the scene for many years - not only in the form of “political satire” as you repeat incessantly, but in the perfectly British form of delightful silliness, as most famously exemplified by his “pun runs”. He is a legend and I’m confident his performance on Taskmaster will confirm that status.
@@graciethomson9088it’s not because of that- it’s because they’re the ones who write the show, as a group. Lolly and Katy play main characters in Ghosts but they aren’t members of ThemThere, the company consisting of Larry, Mat, Ben, Simon, Martha, and Jim (formerly ‘the six idiots’)

I feel the Prize Tasks will give Andy great scope for puns
