So you’ve now been introduced to Carol Cleveland, who is often considered the 7th Python, as she would appear in all their projects, whether it be television, movie or stage.

The BBC did a short series for kids that taught them how to make animations of their own and the various methods people use. Terry Gilliam, the often silent member of the troupe (and the only american), made an appearance for an episode to explain the process he used for what he called his 'cutout animations.' it's on youtube, this isn't a suggestion that you should react to it but it's very interesting in just hearing a director talk about what he makes (and if you ever watch any of his movies, it helps to inform on his perspective. time bandits and baron munchausen are beautiful, brazil will break your heart, fear and loathing in las vegas is incredible)

Now you understand why this is a cult comedy - it doesn't appeal to everyone, but its lunacy hits at just the right angle for a lot of people. Worth noting that this was screened decades before the phenomenon of furries! The phrase "one thing is for sure, the sheep is not a creature of the air" is an old family saying round my place :)

The _mouton anglo-français_ is a spoof on the development of the _Concorde_ .

No matter how clever you think you are, JP, never forget that I have had more gala luncheons than you have had hot dinners.

Got hooked on this show back in the 70s when our PBS station was showing it and it is still funny today

That working-class playwright part is probably my favourite Python sketch of all time. "Poncin' off t' Barnsley!" 🤣🤣🤣

Ah, British humor. I've loved it since I was a teenager. (Yeah, I was a weird kid.)
How it can easily bounce around from Highbrow to Lowbrow to intellectual to Lewd & "naughty" with such ease, never ceases to amaze me!

Ah, yes. It was a bit before my time, but I do remember growing up hearing sordid tales about hole-in-the-wall squeakeasies, and the culture which sprang up around cheese bootlegging. It’s good to see that we’ve come a long way in the acceptance of mice and men, though there is still too much antimouse discrimination on the rise again.

The sheep he shot at the end was a sheep that learned to fly from th ealier sketch.

If you want to know one of the big influences on Monty Python, listen to some of the Goon Show. It was a radio program on the BBC from 1951 t0 1960. They grew up listening to this show, much to their parents bewilderment.

Great JP! My favourite is the Marriage Guidance Counsellor and the husband who sees his wife having an affair in front of his nose! When he goes outside and gets told to stand up for himself, he goes in speaks his mind and is told to go away. So he just accepts it and goes away LOL.....hilarious!

Remember the dark, surreal humour that pervaded some of the early Genesis albums? Now you know what inspired it.

Been ages since I saw that episode. Definitely enjoyed it! I take it Sake is not a mouser, or she'd have been up on your desk watching 🐭

So fun!!!!! Damn, that was fun to revisit!!!! The first season has some episodes that are stronger than others, but that was a good one. Like most shows it takes a few episodes to hit its stride. I do like the first two episodes, though.
