There is a reason dr k designed the RPM suits the way she did design them. As shown in the series she was kidnapped after men in black saw her with a little girl when she was about 5 years old, because she was able to calculate extreme mathematics, and then taken to a goverment facility named "alphabet soup". She was manipulated to believe she was sick and couldn't go outside. Yes, and then he said, "there's no energy to it, nothing there to get the viewer pumped if something awesome is happening." It's not just that it doesn't fit for him, but that he didn't think it was good.
pokehunterhd Actually, he later mentioned in part one of his HOPR - Mystic Force videos that "There is no energy to it. Nothing there that would get the viewers pumped if something awesome is about to happen!" So yeah, it's that the official theme song for Mystic Force didn't actually fit him, it's just he didn't think it was all that good to begin with. Now, in my opinion. I personally don't actually like the Mystic Force official theme song because to me, it felt like Disney was belatedly pandering to the "urban" audience of kids that watch Power Rangers and trying to make it all "hip!" and "with it!!" like they think they've actually reach out the Black community by adding in more multi-cultural music in various Power Rangers themes?!?!? Uh no!!! That doesn't work like that, especially in Power Rangers. I mean, if you wanted to add a hip-hop song into a Power Rangers season, then its' best if it actually worked as an insert song when the rangers aren't fighting the monsters or as an ending theme song. But never an opening theme song. Case in point....the NickToons short-lived animated series, "Voltron Force". It also had a Hip-Hop opening theme song, but it really didn't match the tone of the actual show. I mean people who knew about or grew up watching Voltron, they'd expect to hear the classic theme song from the original. Not a discount Will.I.Am Hip-Hop song. Bottom-line, the opening theme of Mystic Force just didn't work for some fans nowadays. If you liked it, fine. More power to you. But for people like me and Linkara, we did not like it because it didn't really give almost everyone, the excitement of waiting for something awesome to happen in the show. That's about it.
Dane Lang Well, I would argue that not all of Linkara's resources are accurate. But, as far as his reviews go, some of them are based on just his feelings about how he reacting to certain things such as the use of a hip-hop theme in Mystic Force over a traditional rock theme for the opening sequence of that show. But to be fair on one thing, the hip-hop theme for Mystic Force really didn't actually get its' target audience pumped or excited for the next episode every time the show came on the air back then. It just felt like something you'd hear from a Black-Eyed Peas album. That's about it!
You know, I think I know of a way that the talking Zords could be implemented into RPM. By having it that each of the Zords have an individual A.I, that has the job of assisting the rangers in fighting Venjix. Dr. K could have also uploaded a firewall into the A.I. For each zord, to prevent them from being taken over by Venjix.
@@joserobertosolismerlin5527 In addition to the firewall, to prevent any of the A.I from going rogue, Doctor K would give them a sense of morality. They would be kind of like the Beast Bots from Beast Morphers, and here are their names and characteristics: Speedy the Eagle Racer: a speedster who’s quick on his feet (or in his case, tyres) Leo the Lion Hauler: A guy who’s smart and laidback Berry the Bear Crawler: a sweet and loyal friend. Fin the Tail Spinner: A real tough guy. Wulf the Wolf Cruiser: A quiet, but loyal friend. Crunch the Croc Carrier: a guy who likes to be loud and known. Soar the Falcon Chopper: a real chipper guy. Stripe the Tiger Jet: a patient but quick kind of gal. Blue the Whale Jumbo Jet: a happy-go-lucky and laid back guy. Tusks, Fang and Spike the Paleozords: Brutish and simple minded fighters (think of the Dinobots from Transformers).
I can’t believe that an alternate universe is the setting for a Power Ranger season to finally have military involvement outside of lost galaxy, which if you go by the DRPR Version of the PR timeline, lost galaxy and rpm take place in the same continuity. I’m just gonna go with that version of the continuity. I mean, the original pitch for RPM was for the series to take place on Mirinoi from lost galaxy. So, I guess jake a.k.a. database ranger took that idea and ran with it. He incorporated it around the 20 or 30 episode Mark, and he’s added his own spin to it.
Hayden I would say power rangers rpm is of the one of the better seasons of power rangers because it's actually pretty good and nowadays we barely see any good seasons and dino fury is not the best season of power rangers but it's OK.
Also a series where citizens and people are shown to die and stay dead as well as other things you wouldn’t think power rangers would touch like indoctrination like Doctor K or mutaliation like Tenya
Honestly, I've never really understood why people consider the actual RPM theme more fitting than the fan favored demo track. Sure, it's a darker song, but RPM is ultimately a pretty hopeful series, a soaring pop punk song fits a lot more thematically imo. Plus, pop punk blew up in the 90s around the same time Power Rangers did, so it works as a full circle theme for the intended final season.
It's an interesting one. 'Dark setting and backstory/sparks of hope that can't be extinguished and ultimately triumph' is one of my favourite kinds of storytelling but it's _very_ hard to keep the tone in balance. I prefer the demo too (even if I feel the lyrics could use another draft) but I can definitely see people coming down the other way.
I've never understood the argument that the demo was too "happy" for RPM because RPM is supposed to be dark and gritty. Because honestly, RPM ISN'T dark and gritty. It has its moments, the post-apocalyptic premise is darker than your typical PR season, but the show NEVER shies away from the fact that it's Power Rangers. You've got rangers fighting with baby carriages, "I'm Scottish!", the fourth-wall breaks, "that is not spandex", basically Ziggy's entire character, etc.
It's a good point. Similarly to Lewis pointed on in his Time Force review that there's a difference between having a sympathetic backstory and actually _being_ sympathetic, there's a distinct difference between having a grim, gritty backstory and setting and actually being grim or gritty in your storytelling. Look at Fullmetal Alchemist (the manga/Brotherhood, anyway) - the protagonists' backstory is utterly horrifying, several of the other _heroes_ were recently complicit in an act of genocide and the forces pushing the nation towards some unspecified but definitely unpleasant fate appear all but unstoppable for most of the run. Yet, while it too has its moments (oh, my Christ, does it have its moments), the narrative itself is utterly awash with themes of redemption, the futility of revenge and the merit of sticking to your ideals even when they can seem almost childish in the face of all the world can throw at you.
Exactly! You need those lighter moments to keep people invested and eager to see if/how they win. Because the dark moments will mean nothing without the lighter ones. Even in universe, people need the brighter colours for morale just like the sky hologram.
Tanaya seven never got to finish her monologue. I wonder if the original version of the series had ever given her the ability to finish what she was going to say. Final evolution of robots? Final evolution of humans? Who knows.

I’m actually on the opposite end of the spectrum, and advocate for reboots, if only specifically for superhero comics. Namely because writing sensibilities/standards for comics have changed pretty dramatically since the 60s (or hell the 30s) and it’s nice to get updated versions of those stories that new readers can get into. Like seriously, I do not know how ppl nowadays can read Ditko era Spider-Man unironically. I tried, and I just can’t, and that example probably aged the BEST out of any gold/silver age comic.
"Like seriously, I do not know how ppl nowadays can read Ditko era Spider-Man unironically. I tried, and I just can’t, and that example probably aged the BEST out of any gold/silver age comic" Why's that?
@@dylansharp8471 Probably better than other silver age stories at the time, but it still suffers from a lot of antiquated writing styles for comics at the time: characters talking in unrealistic exclamations, characters describing an action you can clearly see on the art, plus just an overall sense of cartoonish-ness and one-dimensionality (especially for spidey's rogue's gallery) that makes me tilt my head when writers like Mark Millar and Alan Moore praise said era, and cite it as a source of inspiration during their tenures with the characters (in Mark Millar's case anyways)
Only after you stop watching the show does it bring out its best season yet. This was the case with rpm, this was the case with jungle fury, this was the case with even dino fury i have been hearing its pretty dark.
It's funny that, after so long having ups and downs getting to grips with the series did Disney knock it out of the park with their last two. Even if they're not to people's tastes, they're so much more focussed on characters and theming than anything they'd overseen before.
"What's a Power Ranger?" "What's a Paladin?" Fittingly funny since Boom Studios just announced Power Rangers Paladin Force as one of the multiverse Power Rangers in Power Rangers Infinity.
I would’ve chosen name like Power Rangers war robots or something, and with the sentai footage, you wouldn’t even have to worry about the copyright stuff from Pixonic which are the creators of the War Robots game.
I actually don’t mind the multiple Continuities in digimon sure it sucks that say tamers doesn’t team with the 01 and 02 team but it changes up the cast and honestly I just see it as different dimensions digimon has delved into the idea of different dimensions like the dark ocean in adventure 02 and even if it wasn’t as explained in the battle of adventures movie because it was just fight scenes with zero substance omnimon was a dimension fighting mephistomon and Sakkumon was a multidimensional being so I’m willing to except it as just different dimensions and I think it works but hey multiple continuities aren’t for everyone
If the Universal Bio-Electric Field (aka Morphing Grid) is based on living things, wouldn't it be really weak with the area of NO LIFE across the world?
So do we know WHY RPM went with the sentai footage it used? Like did they have no choice? Did Disney pick the first Sentai show name they could find out of a hat and tell Eddie to get over it? I'm just saying, considering the uh, "colorful" nature of his response to the zords, choosing literally any other show might have made things easier
Its because up until Dino Charge, Power Ranger always adapts seasons of Super Sentai in the exact order of release, they've been doing this MMPR season 1 (which adapted Zyuranger) . Go Onger (RPM) came right after Gekiranger (Jungle Fury), that's why it was used.
And since Power Rangers was moved to Nickelodeon, the show has to have 20 or so episodes per season. Meaning that Power Rangers where very slow about adapting certain Sentai.
Thankfully Nick is no longer a factor. Their asinine season length rule is stupid enough on its own. But then Samarui suffered them showing the series out of order for NO FUCKING REASON! Seriously, whoever made THAT call should be banished from the Entertainment industry.

That's about it.
pokehunterhd Linkara is full of sh*t.
Yeah Ron's demo for MF is better
Thanks for uploading the HOPR rpm videos done by Linkara. This will surely tide us over until he re-edits the video.
Really wish RUclips will leave his work alone. It's not like he's monetizing full episodes of the show.
@@berniethekiwidragon4382 yeah.
Plus could have work in story because dr k needed companions
@@joserobertosolismerlin5527 In addition to the firewall, to prevent any of the A.I from going rogue, Doctor K would give them a sense of morality. They would be kind of like the Beast Bots from Beast Morphers, and here are their names and characteristics:
Speedy the Eagle Racer: a speedster who’s quick on his feet (or in his case, tyres)
Leo the Lion Hauler: A guy who’s smart and laidback
Berry the Bear Crawler: a sweet and loyal friend.
9:55 that freaking killed me 😂
Same here. That was hilarious!
32:21 one of the many reasons why I love Dillon
Me: somebody called *looks at the word "dillion"* DAMNIT XD
Power Rangers RPM was off the hook 🪝
It's crazy that Dan Ewing is my mother's ultimate celebrity crush and he's also a power rangers actor
This season has both the most on screen and implied deaths in this entire show.
It's hard to believe that Fresno Bob's actor is Santa Claus for the Neo Saban and Hasbro seasons.
Just means the man has range; Alpha 5’s VA promises you won’t go hungry in that business when you do that
Since this is a different universe my headcanon is that he is a Santa Claus that had to became a mafia boss to survive the apocalypse
WHAT
Tanaya seven never got to finish her monologue. I wonder if the original version of the series had ever given her the ability to finish what she was going to say. Final evolution of robots? Final evolution of humans? Who knows.
I wonder how many grinders Dillon could actually deal with. Maybe thousands, millions, or even billions. Heck, Venjix should’ve sent the whole entire fleet of grinders.
I was stoked when a power ranger finally shared my name, and he turned out to be a bad ass black ranger no less.
I really enjoyed this season a ton, and would binge it over and over again on Netflix til they pulled all the seasons after Mighty Morphin and before Beast Morphers, thanx again for that Netflix or Hasbro maybe
Fun fact: All of season 1 of Beast Morphers is gone from Netflix, except episode 10.
Season 2 is still currently on Netflix(as of this reply), but IDK for how much longer?
@@nine_tails137 things like this and rights issues are nothing but an excruciating agonizing headache......
@@Andy_Draws0209 Agreed. And I was planning on streaming Beast Morphers when I had time, only to find out half the series is missing. Which is why I tend to prefer physical media(aka: Blu-Rays and DVDs) over digital media. Since nothing stays online forever.
I actually like the focus on Dillon and little of ziggy it’s different same thing with it taking place in a apologetic world which again I love it’s different then what we are use to also it was keep me watching after almost every single season of power rangers I know every single thing that will happen example who will be a ranger cuz of there first time on screen and them wearing the same color as there ranger outfits and when they get a new zord cuz the villain is so powerful yet they get defeated in the same episode at least with beast Morphers I was shocked in the first episode cuz evil rangers and In dino fury where the pink ranger is a alien and the red ranger “dieing” in the end those where amazing to see and I hope in cosmic fury we get more plot twists like that that’s what makes power rangers great when you know what’s gonna happen then it gets turned on it’s head

RPM is the best season of PR.
So does anyone else get a Futabab( Persona 5) vibe from Doctor K? Just feels that way to me.
I love this series!
36:47 "Omar coming!"
I normally don't like car themed rangers, I thought Turbo was dumb, but RPM is surprisingly really good.
So, we have the actor for peter from guardians of the galaxy as the radio host in this show.
If Tenaya became Green, she and Dillion would've been a Black & Green duo
before Izzy & Javi!
🤣👍
Tenaya would have also been the first female Green Ranger predating Kyuranger's Chameleon Green.
@@animefan25 true
As I was watching the fight from Jungle Fury at the beginning I was wondering...
HOW THE HECK THERE WASN'T A FIGHTING GAME BASED ON THESE CHARACTERS!
- THE FAN GUY LITERALLY HAS AN ATTACK THAT HAVE SCATTER DAMAGE WHEN HITS!
-THE CHAIN-BALLMASS CAN KNOCK BACK THE FRONT ENEMY TO HUT THOSE BEHIND!
-DOMINICK CAN CIRCLE SPREAD GUN SHOTS!
I Know about the budget but they could at least do this since JF was supposed to be the final season and so a fighting game should suffice those who wanted something that PR was based on, cool guys doing martial arts battle against others and they have a good cast and variety.
Perhaps add them to battle from the grid?

Anyone know where I can find an isolated track of the song that plays in Dillon’s intro during The Road to Corinth?
ziggy is my favorite ranger ever.
I have the ending scene of “fade to Black“ wired into my brain for whatever reason. It’s just stuck. I guess iconic scenes just do that.
26:17 The Yellow zord and the red zord have a kid who is a formula one car.
Which is the falcon Zord we saw in Shper Megaforce…and of course because tZacher had no interest in story, the Falcon Zord was never properly explained.
Damn Tzachor is a fucking idiot
i remember him BEFORE rpm. 33:05 that Aussie Soap Opera, Home and Away. (which i need to find more of, since it's not on RUclips anymore in full form.)
i loved the black ranger he was so cool then this series went bananas even the actors felt not caring about it
I’m actually on the opposite end of the spectrum, and advocate for reboots, if only specifically for superhero comics.
I tried, and I just can’t, and that example probably aged the BEST out of any gold/silver age comic"
Why's that?
@@dylansharp8471 Probably better than other silver age stories at the time, but it still suffers from a lot of antiquated writing styles for comics at the time: characters talking in unrealistic exclamations, characters describing an action you can clearly see on the art, plus just an overall sense of cartoonish-ness and one-dimensionality (especially for spidey's rogue's gallery) that makes me tilt my head when writers like Mark Millar and Alan Moore praise said era, and cite it as a source of inspiration during their tenures with the characters (in Mark Millar's case anyways)
I guess learned that Summer's actress is also Samantha in the American version of "Ghosts"
I wanna see the reaction of the Sentai cast and crew seeing their comedic show turned into something so dark and apocalyptic
Only after you stop watching the show does it bring out its best season yet. This was the case with rpm, this was the case with jungle fury, this was the case with even dino fury i have been hearing its pretty dark.
And, this was the case with cosmic fury, the 30th season.
It's funny that, after so long having ups and downs getting to grips with the series did Disney knock it out of the park with their last two. Even if they're not to people's tastes, they're so much more focussed on characters and theming than anything they'd overseen before.
"What's a Power Ranger?"
"What's a Paladin?"
Fittingly funny since Boom Studios just announced Power Rangers Paladin Force as one of the multiverse Power Rangers in Power Rangers Infinity.
You know i never knew until now that the blue one was Scottish
I would love to see an days of future past type of story woth might morphin rpm and time force
2:24 And this is why Disney waited until phase 4 to introduce the Multiverse.
I would’ve chosen name like Power Rangers war robots or something, and with the sentai footage, you wouldn’t even have to worry about the copyright stuff from Pixonic which are the creators of the War Robots game.
apparently one of the theme song demos was by ninja sex party
Two of them were actually.
@@MegaAnimazing neat
I'm guessing when he gets around to the remake of this season he'll cut most of the starting rant off.

If the Universal Bio-Electric Field (aka Morphing Grid) is based on living things, wouldn't it be really weak with the area of NO LIFE across the world?
25:33. That is all.

From what i read, Disney only wanted Fox Family Worldwide for Fox Family since they had MLB programming rights for some games which is why they bought it and had received everything that Fox Family Worldwide had under it hence why Disney owned Power Rangers.
