A teleprompter makes all the difference! I just got one last year and it makes recording way easier and more enjoyable! I just have one that my phone goes into so maybe I'll get something like the Elgato one in the future. Seems worth it!
It's such a massive upgrade right? I wanted to try one for RUclips content for ages, then once Elgato got into the whole Teleprompter game, I was too curious not to give it try. Glad I did 😊
Great video! I've been using teleprompters for maybe 3+ years and it's definitely a game changer for me. I picked this one up because the screen was attached and I didn't have as much cable mess with my Lilliput 11" display partnered with the Glidegear TMP100. We could argue that they do have a remove option in the streamdeck or the foot pedal, both of which I use to toggle back and forth between chapter without scrolling. The foot pedal is definitely worth it though Adam. But I do recognize that it's an additional cost unlike other prompters that come with a remote.
Hey Michael 😊 Agreed. Makes such a big different in reducing your stress levels when talking to camera, especially for more technical videos where you can't just riff off a few bullet points without missing a bunch of important info. Yeah I was looking at the foot pedal elgato have, though it just seems overkill when a simple bluetooth remote would solve the issue right away. I emailed them with this suggestion so hopefully they can make it happen soon 🤞
hi there, I'm thinking about tmp100 with 10.2" iPad or elgato prompter for talking head language education stuff. Since you had both, I'd love to hear which one you'd choose for that...cheers!
Great video, Adam! Your insights are really helpful. We're from Brazil and the gear is overpriced here, so we were hesitant about investing in it. Luckily, a friend got it for us at a better price from the US. We're still getting used to it and figuring out the best way to use it. Thanks again!
I’ve found a heaps cheaper workaround using my iPad and a GlideGear teleprompter and using sidecar to send a display to it like the Elgato prompter, but your video makes me feel like I should still upgrade for the app and it’s uses. Great review, thanks!
Yeah the Elgato prompter definitely streamlines the whole process of set up and use. You can definitely find a cheaper prompter solution, but if you just wanna pay for something that works and is easy to setup, you can't go wrong with this prompter.
Hi Adam! Your videos are fantastic! ! I'm actually torn right now between getting a glide gear teleprompter to use with 10.2" iPad or alternatively the Elgato for talking head language education type content. Which setup would you choose for that sort of thing? Many thanks!
Thanks for the compliment :) It depends on your budget, but the Elgato Prompter is just so easy to use. If you just wanna go for an all in one solution, then go for the Elgato Prompter.
I need help with a big problem. I have the Elgato Prompter, Facecam Pro4K60fps, the Elgato Streamdeck plus and I cannot find a way to be able to read from the prompter or even access it from either Zoom or StreamYard. I have the wavelink software and the camera hub installed, but nothing helps and I cannot find any RUclips videos that tell me how to put this all together and make it work. Thanks in advance.
It’s crazy! I tested out the beta version and honestly it was a little bit buggy for me, but I haven’t used the official release yet. Hopefully it’s better now 🤞
Hi, Great and informative video! Im currently having elgato prompter and using it with mirrorless camera. I mount the prompter directly to the lense. I have no issue when recording in landscape (horizontal), the prompter cannot be seen in the frame. But Im having a problem when i use the camera in portrait mode (vertical), the prompter appear in my recording frame. My current lense is sony e 15mm f1.4. Can you please advice on how to solve this? Thanks and will appreciate your guidance.

No worries 😊 Glad you found the video helpful, and that you managed to get the Prompter for cheaper 🙌 You won't regret it that's for sure

At 7:09 in...what is that sitting above the teleprompter?
A Small HD Indie 7 camera monitor. If that's what you're referring to.

You'd have to rotate the prompter in the same way that you're rotating your camera, into a vertical setup.
@@HeyAdamGrasso Thank you for your suggestion. It did solve my problem. It does look "not normal" but gladly it works!
@@teknodipglad I could help :)
I'm wondering if the hole/ring accommodates Sigma 16mm lens for Sony E?
If you're shooting full frame, I'm pretty sure that 16mm is too wide for this prompter. You'll see the edges of the prompter in your shot.
What software is good for working with the text/scripts it shows?
The Elgato prompter has it's own app called 'Camera Hub' that's great :)
Can you get cheaper ones cause I can't afford it
There are workarounds for cheaper versions of a Telepromter, but you'd have to buy all the individual parts separately on Amazon to make your own.
