Wow, what a perfect tutorial, your knowledge and your tone of voice made it so easy for me to set up my new N5 camera. May God give you lots of health so you can continue to be a blessing to others.
Thank you very much for your kind words, you made my day!!
Great video. Those two clear plastic sheets actually stick onto your window and then you attach the dashcam mount with 3M adhesive to those. This makes it easier to take off if you have to remove for some reason.
Thanks for the info!
Very well explained. Really good for basic learner like me who is 68 in AUSTRALIA
Thank You!!
We are proud of you ❤️😊👍
Thank you, that means a lot to me!!
The IR sensor is used for the optional remote control.
I strongly recommend it! Great review, thanks!
You are welcome!
I have the N5 but everything you talked about here still applies. This was a big help, thanks.
You are very welcome, and thanks for the tip
@jpbcos Merhaba. Nexus N5 kamerasını almayı düşünüyorum. Tavsiye eder misiniz? N5 kamerasının eksi ve artı yönleri nelerdir?
It was a very helpful tutorial. Thorough and concise. You saved me time and aggravation. Thank you
You're welcome!
Outstanding presentation! Perfect timing for setting up my new N4 Pro. Thank you for your effort.
Thank you, I am glad it was helpful!
I was looking for information on how not to record inside the cab. Finally someone explained it thank you. Privacy mode I am not sure why I didn't figure that out myself. I was looking for an on/off mode I guess. Pretty much leave it the way it comes other than privacy for my use.
You are welcome!
I would think the ir sensor would be to illuminate the cab for night vision on the cab camera.
Thank you for the great tip, and I think you’re absolutely right that makes total sense.
Thanks a million for the video! Great information!
My pleasure!
Thank you for the detail explained and extra information. Looking forward to watching the following videos.
Thanks for watching!
Great tutorial thank you!
You're very welcome!
IR cameras use built-in infrared lights, filters and light sensors to enable video recording in extreme poor-lit situations. So, while traditional dash cams would not perform well under these conditions an infrared camera can offer crystal clear images even in pitch black environments.
Thank You!
This 5th review i have watched, thank you for giving me ideas debs xx
You are so welcome
Great details.. Thanks!
No problem 👍
Thanks for great review. Plan on watching the follow up videos.
Awesome, thank you!
Very informative video, Thank you!!!
You are so welcome!
Thank you so much for help!!!
You're welcome!
Thank you for the amazing tutorial.
You're very welcome!
Those plastic things are for the windshield. They go between camera and the windshield
Thank you, I finally figured it out lol
@@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 you’re welcome 😊
Just set mine up today, while watching your great video - thanks! Got the app to connect, but still need to learn how to use that properly. Do you know what the purpose of looping is, for such short durations, rather than just letting the huge SD card fill and then just (presumably) write over itself? Oh, just noticed you have a subsequent video. Time to watch that :)
Glad it was helpful!
Respect! Thank you brother
You are very welcome!
@@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 I installed the rear camera in the back of my toyota camry, however the lines is facing up a bit do to it's design. I think it was made mostly for 90° angle or van and suv. What do you think?
Great tutorial and explanation Thank you, do you recommend this camera?
It is a good camera, but not very affordable. So if the cost is not an issue for you, I recommend it.
@@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 Yes, it is a little pricey. Is there in affordable one that you recommend?
@@michaelmcdonough7946 I recommend getting the same camera on eBay. It will be much cheaper.
Thank You
Great review.
Thanks!
My car does not have the ability to continue charging when the car is off. I wish they would have made it with a battery so it could. I now feel this was not a good purchase. I needed that parking part as well. I was so excited. Any suggestions
You need to purchase the hardwired kit which will allow it to stay powered even when the ignition key is OFF.
Thanks for this.
My pleasure!
I have the vantrue n4 pro hardwired into my car but it’s not recording audio how can i fix that? audio recording is on
Update the firmware, after that turn the Audio Recording OFF restart the unit, then Turn it back ON
Where's tutorial of system setup

Hello is the rear camera waterproof? Can this be externally mounted?
I am looking for a dash camera with the following specifications.
1. The front and rear camera should have Sony Starvis image sensors or any latest image sensors.
2. The rear camera will be external mounted on my car, near number plate, hence it should have good IP rating, must be water and mud proof i.e suitable for rainy season. Water droplets or mud must not stick to camera lenses.
3. Both front and rear camera, must not produce glares, from sunlight or from back vehicle headlight or water droplets.
4. I don't intend to use LCD mirror as I have used it before and found that, unlike in normal rear view mirror, LCD mirror cannot provide judgement of back vehicle distance from my car.
5. Front and rear camera must read number plate and detect human movements/motions during day/night/fog/rainy.
Unfortunately this is not waterproof and it cannot be mounted externally, for your purpose you need a 360 degree Action and Sport camera that they mount on Motorcycle helmet.
@@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101
I have Ford EcoSport. Unlike other cars, the rear luggage door opens sideways in Ford EcoSport. Hence I am finding it difficult to attach the rear dashcam internally.
@@arunnair9166 Unfortunately, this is not even designed for external mounting. The noise of the wind will not let it record audio, and the slightest humidity will damage it. Not to mention that the lens will get dirty with dust, bugs, and other elements.
Good video and good info. However, ALWAYS read the Manual. You have a TON of great info - but those two rectangle pieces of plastic - that you said were 'screen protectors' and suggested cutting them to fit.... uh, nope. They are Electrostatic window attachments. Not really sure how they work - but I did use One. They are only for the front camera. One extra. Clean the glass in the area you are installing the camera. Apply the plastic sheet to the windshield. Peel off the plastic label on the back of the camera mount - and apply it to the square on the windshield (there are two labels that get removed on the Electrostatic sheet.) The camera will be mounted. Won't move easily.

Also - I know the manufacturer and the manual and everyone - states the Vantrue 4Pro will take UP TO a 512Gb card. That is not correct. It will absolutely take that amount and of course Less - but I was curious and with the cost of micro SD cards - I ordered a SanDisk 1TB micro. It formatted and is being used just fine by the Vantrue Nexus 4Pro. Might even take something greater than 1Tb... I don't know. But I put in a brand new 1TB - it formatted it; and after getting the camera installed and stuff - eventually pulled out the card and went to my computer. Formatted just fine; (953Gb available) and is being used just fine by the Dash Cam. So, it will take and use larger than 512Gb - which I know is the max amount the company states... Hope everyone has a great day!
Excellent info, thanks for sharing.
Excellent video. Do you have a link for your next video on WIFI?...Nevermind, found it!
Thank you!
Thank you for the video, does the app working while away from the car ?
Unfortunately it will not, because the camera's WiFi range is no more than a few feet from the car.
What are your thoughts about this camera to use for surveillance for side view of the vehicle in a parking lot?
Yes, you can do that. However you have to first hard wire it so that when you turn off the ignition key the camera doesn't lose power. The quality is very good, but the hard wiring cable harness is sold separately
Can the camera be moved from one vehicle to the other since it uses the adhesive stuff?
Yes you can have two adhesive mounts and simply detach the camera form the mount.
Thank you for the video...i got the vantrue n4 pro dash cam,im near Boston Massachusetts but when i put the time zone which is New you it keeps changing to another time zone then i have to change it back to new York time zone but it keeps changing to another time zone,im not sure if im doing something wrong
I think one of the push buttons are stuck or shorted out, so I would return it for an exchange with another one.
@@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 Thank you, I will return for another one
@@eliezervalentin1611 You are very welcome!
Why can’t you set the front cam to 4k?
The front camera which is facing outside supports 4K, but the front camera facing the drive doesn't have a 4K Sensor.
12:02: There is a remote control which is sold separately.
Greetings, mine did not come with a remote control, but I will do some research to see if it is sold separately, and let you know
I live in the US and i fucking hate how we write our dates... It makes zero sense. The day is the shortest form of day so that should be first, next the month as that the next longest, and finally year as its tue longest. This is how I write the date and how i believe everone should.
I agree and there are a lot of things that need improvement in the United States, for example, we need to convert to world standard Metric unit of measurement. It is much easier to calculate since everything is divisible to 10
Thanks!
Thank you for your kindness!!!
From my understanding the privacy mode isn't about disabling the cabin camera, but rather continuous recording vs looping, as it's not legal in some areas.
Not sure of there's another way to disable the cabin camera thay you know of?
Privacy mode will also disable Audio Recording, so your conversation inside the car will not be recorded.
I’ve noticed that the mph that the vantrue gps detects, is 2mph lower than the speed I’m actually moving at. I know it is not my speedometer because it has matched other gps devices I’ve used in the past. Anyone else has that issue or noticed the same thing on the vantrue gps ?
I haven't experienced this, but I know the GPS miles per hour are more accurate than the vehicle speedometer. Because the speedometer calculates speed based on the number of rotations of your tires, and if you put a larger or smaller tire than the tires installed by the factory, your speed reading will be incorrect.
Hi! The dashcam has language in spanish?
Hi, Yes mine has the option to switch to Spanish, however I purchased min in North America, so I don't know if the ones sold elsewhere will also have the same language options.
You went through the whole parking mode, but it said “off” at the top the whole time. How do we actually turn parking mode on?
Sorry I missed that, see page 21 of this manual www.vantrue.net/manuals/pdf/index.html?file=https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.vantruecam.com%2Ffiles%2Fmanuals%2FVantrue+N4+pro+User+Manual+English.pdf
When I try to turn it on it tells me to enable it in settings. But then I’m settings if I select where it says “off” in an attempt to toggle it to on it just takes me back to the settings menu.
@@MahoneyBadger Maybe the firmware has become corrupt, you should try to update the firmware to the latest version.
@@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 thank you! I will try that.
@@MahoneyBadger Good luck
you need to buy the remote separate
Thanks for the info
40 minutes video without showing how to install ?!
I mentioned that in the beginning of my video that I made a separate video that shows how to link it to your smartphone. I didn't want to overwhelm people with a 2 hour long tutorial. Here is the link to the 2nd video ruclips.net/video/xVxXkFK34fs/видео.html
@@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 The more concern is about how to install dash cam in the car , how to installing hardwire, how to find
ACC FUSE slots and CONSTANT FUSE slits ? Would be great if you can do this on future ,
We don't have many videos for full installation of dash cam venture N4.
And thank you for tutorial.
@@Manihsi That is a Very good point; the problem is that each vehicle is different. For example, some vehicles will have a live Cigarette lighter port even when the ignition is OFF, whereas others will cut the power to the cigarette lighter port. In addition to that, fuse boxes are situated in different locations on different cars, so it will be very hard to make a "One Size Fit All" video on that subject.
@@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 i installed Vantrue dash cam with kit hardwiring for my Lexus RX 350 and impressed of quality of this unit.my Camera setup wasn’t correct which your tutorial helped me to get it done correctly,
Again appreciate it for tutorial.
I'm in Australia and purchased this Vantrue N4 Pro 4K dashcam for my Mazda 2 (2020) and found on opening the box that it is very heavy and BIG. There is no reason from a design standpoint to make the whole that heavy and the cord (from the cigarette lighter) is not long enough to hide it in the panels so it had to go direct and in front of the dash - very ugly arrangement. The double sided tape that came with the factory couldn't hold the dashcam on the windscreen because it is THAT heavy. I got rid of the factory tape and used a 3M tape and it also couldn't hold it on the windscreen due to the WEIGHT. Moved to using Loctite superglue and it held only for a few days. I'm considering throwing it in the trash bin. This device is too heavy for ANY glue to hold it on the windscreen. Very badly designed. Product not tested at all.If you live in a country that has a normal summer (30+ C), you wont be able to keep it glued to the windscreen. Highly recommend you do NOT buy this dashcam. You have been warned.
Thank you for your input, it helps other buyers.
Anybody know that why my N4 dashcam gets automatically shutdown while car is stop?
Some cars cut the power off from the cigarette lighter port when the ignition key is OFF. So you have to buy the hardwire kit for the camera and power it using a 12V wire under the dashboard which has power at all times. Even when the car is OFF. Keep in mind that doing so will drain your car battery if leave the car parked for two to three days.
@@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 thanks for the reply, i do have hardware kit, is that screen off connected with loop recording? Loop rec was off that time.
@@md.faisalahmed3144 Loop recording will over-write on previously recorded footage. So, it is only good to use if you are not leaving the vehicle unattended for too long. Otherwise, the footage may have been overwritten if there was an incident. The size of the Memory Card and the video quality settings will determine how the loop will be
Can you lock a recorded file after it has already recorded
Yes, when there is a shock, such as a road bump, heavy breaking, or accident, the footage will be automatically saved and will not be overwritten by new recordings. You can also manually lock the file by pressing the lock button.
@@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101I’m talking about files that’s already on the memory card I have some files that was recorded two days ago that I didn’t save then but want to save now on the device only without downloading it to a computer
@@silverado_low-onIG You can access it from your iPhone or other smartphone and download the clip to your phone. You can also click the lock icon to save the clip on the camera's Micro SD Card.
