Congrats on the new place!! I learned back in the day when I lived in the city while I lived on a tiny lot that if you don't want a big tree in that spot 20 years from now better remove the little guy now. I just had 40 feet of little guys removed from next to my garage. I've got some big guys 40 feet from the house I'm hoping to have dropped before winter. It's swamp area so I can just leave them lay. 3 grand well spent.
I hope your tree felling goes well. I've often said taking down problem trees will cost money that no one will ever know you've spent. But if you don't they will certainly know that you didn't. Thanks.

Fantastic tree, too bad it had to come down. Someday would like to live where good trees grow. SoCal not good for that.
It's a damn shame you had to take down such a beautiful tree. I love big ancient trees but often times they're unfortunately a liability
