Hey, that's a great question and a tough one. Can-Am claims the hd10 is 2 inches wider, but honestly I can't see where exactly. The tires on the xt models are actually the same width too. So where they find 2 inches is hard to decipher. It's kind of hard to even call the hd7 a mid-size unit other than the fact that it is only a 700. Another fun fact is that the hd9 and hd10 is actually the same engine, just different tuning for hp increases on the hd10. Hope that kind of helps and thanks for watching!
Not a mid sized machine. I own one. The Polaris 570 comes in a mid sized and a full size version. Also the HD7's engine is not the same as the HD9 and HD10! It has a single cylinder engine,where as the other two have a twin cylinder engine. You didn't do your homework.

When you say full sized foot print do you mean box and tire width are wider? Or on the 1000 is it just the tire width that's bigger?
