    I have one. It's great. So far my only complaint is that it's not a hydraulic clutch. I never even thought to check for that since it's a 2023. I didn't even realize they made motorcycles without a hydraulic clutch. So that part is a fail.

    • @powersportssteve
      @powersportssteve 20 дней назад

      @@brontoab1 IMO hydraulic clutches are overrated. First off, hydros are really only a semi benefit for guys who abuse their clutches on race bikes as you don't have to keep them adjusted constantly. I'm a dirtbike guy for example. There isn't a hydro clutch on the market that is any more smooth or better than on a new factory yamaha for example. There are also more possibilities of having mechanical problems from a hydro clutch too, air bubbles, maintenance etc are also more potential down sides. I love the new vstrom 800 and rode another one this week. It might be my next bike too. Really appreciate you watching and don't stress about the clutch. 👍🏻Congrats on the new bike too!!

    Gotta agree on the confusing models and options Honda offers...! I have several Honda ATV's- From the smallest to biggest. A little 90 and 250 TRX. (2WD only). Little indestructable machines. My kid's and wife drive them all over the ranch. Just change the oil/air filter once in a while and keep good gas in em' (or use a fuel stabilizer). Having owned numerous other makers of quads, I avoid chain driven units because of the exposure, wear and tear and maintenance of the chain. I think all Hondas are gear driven. You will proably never have to do any maintenance on the drive unit..... Get the chain driven quads only if max. speed/performance is your deal... Get the 4WD models if you plan to be in any serious off road situation in the bigger units. That being said, my wife's little 250TRX 2WD rarely, if ever, gets stuck. It's all in knowing how to drive it.... It's actually one of my favorite go to units for running out with a bit of gear to do some work on the property. I like my 4WD Rancher for it's lower gearing for work, but lacking power steering, it takes some muscle to steer in 4WD sometimes. Get the PS if available. I can put several hundred pounds in a trailer and the rancher pulls it no problem. Our big 680 Rincon lacks power steering but is suprisingly easy to steer in 2 or 4WD. The gearing on the big boy is tall, great if you want to drive up to 63MPH, but for my use could be geared a little lower. But it's got so much grunt the gearing isn't an issue. I just don't need to go 20MPH in 1st gear as I do alot of slow speed puttering while working. It'll pull a 1000lbs. in a trailer plus I can load it's cargo baskets full and it performs effortlessly. The rear wheel fender well is a weird location for the battery in the 680. Did they relocate it in the new, (renamed) TRX700??? Over all, the Honda's are pretty bullet proof reliable and hold their resale value unless you just plain abuse the things. Dave

    One question I would like to have answered is which one is the most reliable? Easiest to work on? Least & Most expensive to work on? Best warranties? But really, which one is more likely to have something go wrong mechanically speaking. Also, are all of these 100% manufactured and built in the US?

    • @powersportssteve
      @powersportssteve 24 дня назад

      @@jtltet thanks for watching and those are all great questions. If you are using these machines as intended, I would not expect any of them to give you problems. If you are going to be hard on the machine and do more than it's intended purpose I would probably buy the Polaris or the Can-Am. As for expense to fix, I don't see any crazy difference in parts pricing and I don't see that one is really any easier to work on than the other. The US built units are the Polaris and Honda too, the rest are made out of the US. I Hope that helps!

    I found this video because I'm interested in such a machine. I know this is a tough sell (pun intended), but it would be nice to hear about some downsides that you trade off for the great value. For example I'm not wild about a CVT for plowing in the winter, but the only UTV that has a regular geared transmission is like $7k more...is that worth? Moderately-specific use case but you didn't answer that nor plug the ups of CFMoto's burgeoning aftermarket EDIT: still a useful video with information still relevant in 2024...thanks!

    • @powersportssteve
      @powersportssteve 24 дня назад

      Hi Dave, thanks for watching! I can't say there is a "downside" to the machine. Does everyone expect these machines to have more problems because they aren't Japanese? Yes, but that is not what myself nor our store is seeing. Sure it has some quirks, but most machines do. As for the whole CVT debate, get over it. Like you said, almost every brand uses a CVT trans. If you use a CVT trans correctly, it will work perfectly fine for your plowing needs. As for the aftermarket and OEM accessories, there is a ton of stuff available for all of the brands for sure. Hope that all helps.

      @@philipphilip2174 thanks for watching and since you have a 800 I won't be this to death. Do I think some of the materials have less standards than say a polaris? Absolutely. Do I think this is some of why we have these machines available for say $850@ less than a comparable Polaris? Absolutely. Nobody is trying to hide that. I also think that for the avg buyer using this machine how it was intended to be used that they are perfectly fine and well suited for it. Should you put portals and 40" tall tires on it? No. You shouldn't do that to a polaris either. I've seen plenty of torn floorboards from all kinds of debris over the years, trust me. Hate to hear you had a freak accident.

    • @powersportssteve
      @powersportssteve 24 дня назад

      That's honestly a good question. I would have to dig into a manual and find some specs for the overall final drive. The guys that all run crazy oversize tires usually put portals on so it doesn't matter too much if there is a marginal difference from the factory I would say.
