The contrast between the English and Japanese Voice of Neuvillette is enormous.

English just better
@@jacksborns3414 yep,Ray Chase is the best for him

Let everyone say that the English voice actor is better, but I personally like the Japanese one because that's how I can believe that he is a crying hydro dragon

EHEHEHHHHH?!

Hearing cutscenes in CN always feels good, because the flip-flop/ mouth movement is fitting with the voice
because it's a chinese game bruh
Useless chinese devs can't even add lip sync to other languages, Final Fantasy and other games make less money than this gacha crap yet they do it for their games.
@@jackjohnson8305i mean hsr have that
@@jackjohnson8305 they'll probably upgrade the Genshin engine (they dont use a unity Engine, their engine is only built of it) and add the HSR lip sync for other languages thing
But in Kaeya’s character quest (where we run into him in Sumeru), the EN dialogue and mouth movements are actually in sync. I was pretty surprised and thought it was a recent update, but then the AQ in Fontaine went back to being out of sync. 😢
Her ENG voice is very expressive, i like it so much and i will enjoy it as such

What's interesting is that in the Korean version, Neuvillette uses honorifics to Furina in front of others, but not in a scene where he's alone with her
+ Oh I didn't expect to get so much attention...
To make up for it, Korean is similar to Japanese, and there is a clear difference between honorifics and informal speech, and at some points, it has a clearer difference than Japanese.
In the Korean dubbing, Neuvillette uses very strict honorifics for every character. The honorifics that he uses are called "하십시오체" in linguistic terms. This is the strictest and most honorific language in the Korean language hierarchy(아주높임 격식체).
However, he uses friendly and possibly dismissive informal language, such as using the third person, "저 녀석(It's a word that has a strong feeling of being treated to a person who is lower or equal than you)," only to Furina.
In this scene, the way he speaks to Furina is "해체(아주낮춤)" (or a mixture of "해라체(두루낮춤)"), which is an informal form(비격식체). It is mainly used to talk to friends without being formal.
Interesting 😲 I wonder why

Me and my CN lover fellow in the corner : 🧍🧍♀️🧍♂️
i feel seen now lmfao
as a cn user here, i genuinely feel like the en cast for fontaine was better than the jp one.
I use CN too😭CN is underrated
Same, CN user here normally (cuz I can understand both CN and Eng perfectly). But for Fontaine's archon quest, no way I'm not using the EN dub. The EN VAs for the Fontaine cast are just amazing, especially Neuvi, Furina and Navia.
For overworld exploration and combat however, i'm switching back to CN (EN Neuvi grunting like an angry old man with his attacks does not help at all, hope they redo those voicelines💀)
CN is way too underrated. I've been using CN since playing and every voices fits their characters.
I can't believe that
1) Furina got that same enlightenment as kujou kamaji in Ayato's quest
2) THAT FATUI POSE... NOT EVEN THE UNUSUAL HILICHURL COULD RESIST DOING THAT...
'Fatui pose'? What do you mean?
@@glukogen5674 0:40 every harbinger did that
And on Fontaine's dev stream, Dawei even did that
@@shanedoesyoutube8001 Thank you for answer
I have screenshots of both poses. Furina definitely did it better and had a better camera man.
While JP Furina sounds like she's aware that her theatrics won't take her too far, EN Furina is absolutely COPING and faking her facade so much that it sounds real. I love it.
English VA ate this.
KR Furina and Neu are spot-on as well!
Furina's "Eeeeeeh?" timestamps:
0:06 EN
1:08 JP
2:09 CN
3:02 KR
But the "You mean you won't come" in EN is the worst, the tone is so pitch high.
Personally i think it's better, her voice breaking makes it feel more real.
I love eeeeheheeeee in English sounds goofy like her
@@minhcuonghuynh2768opinions exist you know
I think it was hilarious in English but the “Eeeeeeh?” itself probably should have been changed to “Huhhh?” since no English speaker would say “Eeeh?” when expressing surprise or dismay. That’s more of an Asian culture thing.
that "EeeeEeEeee" from EN's Furina really had me on the floor. Definitely ON POINT!
I love Furina's shaking voice in JP 😂
Gurl freaking teleported
dang bro. Korean Neuvilette sound really good
they missed the perfect chance for another toodle-oo when she was leaving
Fun fact: Korean Furina shares VA with Sucrose.
You try listening to Korean Sucrose and not go "how??!!!"
the way she says "eeeehhheeee" in eng is so funny and iconic. i love her so much!!!
I love how the four different languages make Furina feel like Furina but in slightly different ways from each other.

I was all for the CN voice for nearly 3 years and stil am

But it's not just those two who changes, you know. I tried EN for some parts of the archon quest, and I finally understand why Western fandom finds Paimon grating.

the en cast for fontaine is actually amazing, coming from a cn user.
Poor neuvillette, keeping up with sassy furina bs really tiring than his work
In the EN version, Neuvilette's end sound, sounds like he wanted her to ask again while also being worried something got messed up.

i think eng does best wit her cheery personality, when she praises herself the other languages dont show it as much
She is so patheticly cute, Furina is just growing on me.
Fun Fact: Furina shares the same CN VA as Sun Rong from Daily Life Of The Immortal King! They both display the charisma and arrogant air, it's no wonder Furina's CN voice fits her so well! 😂
Maybe furina be having teleporting skills. That'll be bad ass
English and Korean Neuvillette is superior Neuvillette.

JP and CN Neuvillette voice is too young and light
Now I see Chinese lip moving when spiking looks so natural it makes me wanna play with Chinese voices 😂😂😂
Do it!!! I switched back in 3.4 and I haven't regretted since!! 😁
She sounds even more juvenile in JP, CN, and KR. Interesting how the EN for Neuvillette is closest to the original CN.
Her and Neuvilette's english va have nailed it, simply a pleasure to listen to.
Her japanese voice is good, but it's too pure and kindly sounding to the ear for someone as eccentric as Focalors.
Korean sounds bratty and adorable!
I can't believe they've chosen Levi's va for Neuvilette, yet completely fell off the mark with the voice timbre choice.
yrah
Not really its just another perspective of his character. Neuvilette is a young dragon who is still struggling to discover who he is. He might be scary and intimidating to us humans but he is truly a softy inside. Which the japanese dub shows well.
@@ngm6541 Just because he is young and soft on the inside doesn't mean he has to have a high tone. The number of people see tht His appearance is quite stern, and unlike his inner softness, his outward personality and actions are quite mechanical. In addition, it is important to maintain a low, solemn voice befitting the authority of the Supreme Judge. It suits him best.
It’s probably cause different culture have different voice tropes duh. JP thinks that a calm, serious character would have a softer, higher pitch voice while EN think it’s a deeper voice. Look at Kafka. Dubs need to lean into the tropes within their culture instead of just a one to one voice match so the target audience understand from the first time they heard it that this character is serious/ outgoing/ mischievous.
@@user-om8ue3tb3o And this doesn't apply to Zhongli because?
I just hope Genshin will use the same method as HSR when the character talking. HSR lips are synced when they're talking in this type of scenario while in genshin the lips stop moving even though the character line hasn't finished yet
in genshin the lips are synced according to the cn dub (i'm pretty sure) cause genshin is a chinese game
I don't know why but listening to furina with a Korean voice, reminds me of dragon nest. Ah the good old days.
According to the oratrice mecanique d'analyse cardinale, i give this video a thumbs up.
In Korean and Japanese they have polite words in their language
But when Neuvillette talking to Furina he uses casual words so it feels like they are more closer
Now this was the most anime-like scene in the game so far😂

EN has the most interesting reaction lol! KR & CN are also very amusing!
I saw people debating over different language somewhere (I lost it) and I'm like, YOOO people need to understand that different culture has different point of views towards various things 💀 your preferences are mostly influenced from your culture or whatever you've grown up with. Such as western and eastern has different view on dragon or higher beings, etc. so I don't get it why you guys are debating over it or even insult other language's voice. 💀💀 Sometimes it's just characteristic of how other culture voice is, and/or how their language pronunciation is. I think every VAs are great at delivery different feeling of the character. And I'm grateful that hoyoverse/producers allow that to happen.
Finally someone with a working brain here in the comments. 🙏
Is it really impossible to like a dub and NOT be sh*tting on the other 3?
Well, looking at all the comments here I guess it is impossible...

Not saying whos the best but I think each dubbing has its own charm. Give it up for the voice actors 👏
you're so right
JP Furina is made to be more boyish and “acted out,” and JP Neuvillete is sounds soft because he has a warm heart under the strict looking looks and also because he has learned about emotions from his experiences too. He sounds more robotic or cold hearted in the past dialogues in his own quest. So I think their JP VA fits.
Not to say I like bratty baby girl Furina and Mr. Cool guy too.
Neuvillete is supposed to be not robotic. He already warmed up to humans after spending 500 years. Furina is not supposed to be boyish, she's the girliest girl out there. JP is a mess.
