mem10fan2 yes, European mixed but still 100% European. So many make the claim that everyone came from Africa so everyone must have African DNA and therefore no one can be 100% anything.
She isn't 100% anything, and no one on earth is. "European" isn't a race or a region, it's a whole damn continent. The highest percentage she got is 71% British - which is really high actually - but she's still a mutt like everyone else.
The test you took is only for the Autosomal sides. I too got 100%, however, when I had my maternal side done I found out I had many genetic markers in common with Europeans, North Africans, and the Japanese. What a shocker that was! I guess no one truly is 100%.
I'm 30% Scandinavian, 21% Irish, 20% Europe West, 12% Italian/Greek, 11% Iberian, 1% European Jew, 1% Great Britain, 1% Finnish/Russian, 1% Europe East, 3% Middle East, and 3% Native American. I thought I would have had more Native American in me, because I'm a direct descendant of two chiefs, but the DNA is filtered throughout each chromosome.
I'm a white girl, expected mostly Britain and West Europe, except for possibly a little Native American. Turns out I've got 59% British Isles, 18% Scandinavian, 10% West Europe, some southern European and other trace regions, and 6% Middle Eastern. Wasn't expecting that at all. Maybe the great-great grandmother everyone said was Native American was actually Syrian or Armenian. Having my father tested now to see where came from him, because his family tree is less clear. I love that science can tell us more about where we came from now. My grandmothers were into genealogy, and would have loved this!
Since the genetic similarities between British people and German people are so close, they are unable to distinguish them from each other. People with German and Scandinavian ancestry with no known British ancestor have ended up showing British ancestry, as will people with Dutch ancestry. There is so much overlap between these regions.
I am 100% European as well; 40 French, 30% Spanish and 30% British. To get a clearer picture I suggest people fill in their families history. I have traced my ancestors as far back ad the 14th century.
Wow, 71% Great Britain...a typical native is 60%, you're more British than a typical British person. I thought my Great Britain estimate would be at least 80% (my surname Farnham is English...I even traveled to England and visited about 6 villages by the name of Farnham; however, my estimate comes in at only 4% (my brother's estimate is 56%)...I guess it's all about that random 50% we get from each parent. On a side note: Nice set of drums behind you. Do you play?
To your Finnish/Northern Russian ancestry key things might be connection to states of Michigan, Minnesota or Canada(maybe 1880-1920). Or perhaps lineage to very first settlers to Delaware in mid 1600's when it was "Swedish colony" though in reality many if not even half of settlers were Finns who first lived in Sweden (Värmland province) and where forced to move Delaware.
You look like a west country girl, from South West england. You may be one of our colonial stock that came over from Plymouth centuries ago, quite amazing.
You don't look Spanish at all???? I know a Catalonian girl who looks JUST like YOU! Problem with Americans is that they think Spanish means Hispanic, but it doesn't! Yes, many Spaniards have Arab blood mixed in their vains, but many don't. And those who have Jewish blood somewhere down the line are completely white. Does Vanessa Romero look Spanish to you? (lkook her up in wiki). Sorry to be the bearer of "bad news", but to me you look a lot more Spaniard than a Brit.
I would like to clarify this stereotype that Iberians aka the Spanish/Portuguese, people from Andorra & Gibraltar are ONLY tanned people with Dark hair/Eyes There are Iberians with Blue eyes,Fair skin & light hair as well but these features are most common in the Northern Spanish regions of Asturias,Cantabria,Pais Vasco & Catalonia...but still those features can be found all over Spain/Portugal. Now with that said alot of people may not know this but Spain France Britain & Ireland are actually the most related western Europeans & this has been demonstrated by several autosomal DNA tests while all 4 countries are between 60-80% Haplogroup R1b Which is the majority Haplogroup of all western Europe. Y Chromsome Haplogroups as in R1b are passed unchanged from father to son for thousands of years...the original Inhabitants of Britain/Ireland came from Northern Spain & Northern France...then Celtic tribes also from Northern Spain & Northern France later settled Britain/Ireland as well...this explains why British/Irish people typically always have Iberian/French DNA
I agree, I only say in my video that I don't look Spanish because I'm such a small trace amount and my natural hair is blonde. But My husband is half Portuguese and half white and he is pretty light skinned(not as fair as me) However he does tan very easy and gets pretty dark in the summer. He has dark brown hair and blue eyes so I know it's not limited to just dark hair, eyes & skin. My daughter is more white than anything but she favors the Portuguese side and also has brown hair blue eyes. Thanks for sharing!
Ashley Martin Wow...that is very nice that you have a husband of Iberian origin & it is a coincidence because the topic i mentioned applies to him as well then. I have always thought that out of the western European group Iberians/French with British/Irish compliment eachother culturally... 2 Romance language speaking nations with 2 English speaking nations. You can easily pass as a Spanish Portuguese or a French woman i think eventhough blondes aren't the majority in those countries...but then again all european countries have a mixture of light eyes/hair & dark...i know this from personal experience because I am Cuban American & my Father is Blue eyed with hair that was blonde until his teenage years when it turned brown. My Father is of Spanish origin on both sides & Blue eyes/Blonde hair are common on both sides so i know my family had to get these features from Spanish ancestors Cheers to you & great video!
Richard Myles All humans have genetic admixture...there is no such thing as a pure human...the ONLY difference is some people are more recently admixed while others are more anciently admixed as in 500-1000 years or more...& the point in me stating that is because if a European etc has genetic admixture from North Africa, Middle East,Sub Saharan Africa, or East Asia etc & its that far back it will not show up in the persons DNA at all...this is how all Humans are related & we share ancestors yet we can look totally different & not show up as being related on these tests because its too far back. Now in regards to blue eyed/blondes etc of course they can have those features & have a recently admixed parent like a mulata...but they obviously know they have a mulata parent hence they are recently admixed...i was referring to people like my Family where there is no mulato parents grandparents or great grandparents & where no family members have dark skin etc...this is the typical situation of white Latin Americans & White Americans in which native american/sub saharan admixture is so far back that no one knew it was part of the family. North African Berber & Middle East DNA is typically between 1-10 in Europeans which is not high enough to make Europeans have brown skin in most cases
Portuguese are white. Iberians share most of their dna with the British the Irish and the Frenchmen, that is why you got Iberian. The first settleres of the Atlantic coast, including obviously the British Isles, were Iberians. That ancient conection makes that most people in the British Isles get some Iberian, and most Portuguese and Spanish get some Birtish and/or Irish. Also, People from central and Northern Europe can tan A LOT. The only real difference between Northern and Southern Europeans is the percentage of light hair/eyes. Your features are actually very common in Spain, even if there are few people in Spain with blonde hair as adults.
Actually, no. In Spain most people belong to the same genetic haplogroup, and the only significan "foreign" influence in genetics comes from the ancient Romans. This is, Italian/Greek genetic heritage. Nordic, and even more North African admixture is not common at all, and it shows in very small numbers. About the Middle Eastern, there is close to none "recent" (after the Bronce Age) admixture in Iberians. And, by the way, this last heritage is common in all European countries in small numbers, and the percentage of this ancestry in Spain is lower than in central European countries, wich make sense, check out the migration patterns in ancient Europe, when the first people settled the continent after the last Ice Age. The darker types are just commonly mediterranean types, that are actually quite different from North African ones, while the fair haired and light eyed people are more the atlantic type. But neither Nordic nor North African admixture is in any way common in Iberia.
Damn girl! You're more 'British' than me! I'm English, my family has lived in England for as many generations as we know, yet I came out only 38% Great Britain, and 52% Irish! I had no idea about the Irish, lol. At least I have more from the 'British Isles' than you, haha. That includes Ireland BTW. Pretty cool to be such a high percentage of one place, I'd rather be 70% of somewhere than like 1-5% of everywhere, lol. I think that'd trigger an identity crisis, haha.
Europe 100% European Jewish 33% Europe West 30% Finland/Northwest Russia 19% Ireland 8% Scandinavia 6% Trace Regions 4% Iberian Peninsula 2% Europe East 1% Italy/Greece < 1%
I'm 1/8th Finnish via a great grandmother. I suggest testing with FTDNA if your interest is with connecting with other Finns. Most Finns test with FTDNA.
I just got my test results . I always had a guess of my heritage but never knew for sure being an adoptee. best part found an aunt instantly and contacted her and found my birth mother in 2 days .
Rob749s I don't think I was disappointed about being British, I was more disappointed that I wasn't more Irish. Only because I've been told my whole life that I was mostly Irish. But I love that I'm British. Glad that I took the test!
What is strange as a Brit you talk like a Brit who has lived in the US for few years and picked up the US accent. My Brit aunt was a war bride, married an American, lived in US. What I found strange is that her daughter, my cousin would both talk to each other with an English accent, then go all American with the rest of the family.
they have intermarried over the centuries for sure.... Irish/Scottish/Welsh originated from European Celtic peoples, English from Germanic tribes way back when.
You could easily be from Spain. My maternal grandfather and his siblings were from central Spain. They all had blond hair and green eyes. My parenteral greatgrand father was from Catalonia and he was a straight up red head with a big red beard. One of my closest friends in middle school was straight from Spain she had blond hair, blue eyes and a ton of freckles. I don't think that these physical features are as common as in northern Europe but finding someone with blond hair and blue eyes in southern Europe(Spain,Italy,Greece) isn't really hard.
wiidiwii that's b/c alot of people from Spain are white people there is hardly any indian blood there but she looks more of German very white pale skin she's white basically
M A I disagree I figured d them to be darker due to the hot climate also the Moorish invasion mist look Arab. I've been to this places and yes some may look white but the majority are more swarrhy.
These tests seem to be massive generalisations. There is no one genetically identifiable group as British or Irish. White British people are made up of different genetic groups. In England many people come from an Anglo Saxon ethnic background. Their Y chromosone marker will be found in greater numbers in Northern Germany and Denmark. In Scotland you may find many Anglo Saxon markers but also Y chromsone markers that have come from Ireland, because the Scots came from Ireland. I dont understand how these test can make such generalisations as you are so much British and so much Irish. I suspect this may be true for all the other European groups. These companies should not give out such inaccurate information.
Spanish and portugese people are white. What do you think they look like? So basically your DNA shows u are white. I am of mexican decent and as with people like me we are partly native american and euro with some degree of black which could be very high or very low in percentage. And that's who we are. But what shocked me is you never seen a blond blue eyed spanish person??????
jogmas12 nope never have. My husband is half Portuguese and he is naturally much darker than I am and he has blue eyes and dark hair. His dad is mostly full Portuguese and he is dark with dark hair and dark brown eyes. So that's pretty much what I've assumed they looked like
jogmas12 people in the Mediterranean are not " white " first off its a hot climate blondes wouldn't survive. Second you obviously don't know about the Arab Moorish invasion. Most Italians and Spanish come up with tons of Arab even Indian Pakistani when they do these tests. Do your research.
Peter Atkinson lol because that's what I was told I was growing up & it became a part of who I was. So to find out I'm much less than I thought I was, was kind of disappointing. That's all.
You got a Finnish face not iberian - the iberian part might be the teeth ( but so are scandinian girls cheekbones/teeth. ) So much that the natives in Sweden or Finland would take you for one of them - Sweden had at one point 10% of the population Finns and so does Finland, 10-20 % swedes)
Ashley Martin I'm Canadian and are laws are really protective about health issues and my mom's a nurse and she doesn't want me to do it because she thinks it will get insurance companies in our business. But I want to do it so badly. :)
Kevin wow I never thought about that. Your mom probably knows best if she works in the health care system. Here in the US we don't worry about stuff like that lol. Well maybe some of us but not me
Nathan Tisdale Look who's talking. Have you ever been to Spain portugal dude ? Visit Asturias, Galicia and Catalonia you'll find how REAL Spaniards look like. Fucking troll.
Your gorgeous rejoice ! I have mine done 72 percent European English Irish Spain Italian Greek! Other eastern Jew Middle East and caucaus

this girls are Spanish they mexican they pale upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/d8/Mexican_Girls.jpg/225px-Mexican_Girls.jpg en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexicans
6% scandinavian and 2% iberian like you. I was expecting about 12% irish but i only got 2% which was disapointting. The other one was 3% Italy/ Greece.
but you live in britain? im 75% british, 11% irish and my family has been in america for over 200 years, they kept it pretty consistent. lol anyways my results were 75% brit, 11% irish, 6% western euro, 3% scandi, 3% finnish/north west russian (most likely finnish would explain the scandi % as well) 1% italian/greek, 1 % iberian penn.
Although you do not look Spanish like you stated, the image of people from Spain is often Latin America. Here is a link to a Spanish news out of Northern Spain, show a festival. This is an example of Northern Spaniards. ruclips.net/video/ZWmZXahBclM/видео.html
T Brown thanks for sharing! Now I know. Although I'm only 2% or less. My husband is about half Portuguese and he is white with blue eyes but dark hair and skin is more than the people in the video. Cool to see though! Thanks
most Spaniards do not have very "white" skin, blue eyes, and yellow hair. That's true. Some however, have this look. whoops, I meant blonde hair. C'est vraiment! Europeans in the southern part of the continent, are perhaps the best-looking humans on earth. hahahaha
sorry just saw that you are a Jesus lover, sorry for the anger, as a Christian myself God bless your family, I am still little angry but please read and travel more to europe, I have ,and it is lovely , God bless
northern SPAIN, britain, france, holland, and germany, have similar dna , yeah you do not look Spanish at all ha ha, but your family is probably right you might have native indigenous American ancestors hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha
My husband is half Portuguese and half European and although he does look like a white guy he has dark brown hair & blue eyes with light skin but he tans really easy and gets pretty dark during the summer. And my father in law is mostly full Portuguese and he's the same with brown eyes but darker skin. So when I think of Portuguese/Spanish that is kind of like my model of it I guess but I get what you're saying.
Ashley Martin Ya...you said half Euorpean and half Portuguese...Portugal and Spain like Italy and Greece are all Europeans...but tend to have African/Middle Eastern admixture. Many people act like Spanish is nonwhite...but they are VERY European...and their culture is nothing like Hispanic like people tend to think. I went to Spanish restaurants...and their food is mainly seafood...very different from what Americans think Spanish food is.
I get what you're saying. Yeah well I grew up assuming Spanish food was like the Mexican food I ate but my husband's side of the family like his aunts and stuff don't look white. And they grew up on fish so I agree with what you're saying.
I got my back and it said that I'm 97% European and 3% west Asian .
i love seeing 100% results bc everyone says no one is 100%! thanks for sharing.
Ashlee DeVillier Nguyen she is still European mixed!
mem10fan2 yes, European mixed but still 100% European. So many make the claim that everyone came from Africa so everyone must have African DNA and therefore no one can be 100% anything.

she doesn't look Irish but Martin is an Irish surname, an anglicised one though
J. o'neill Martin is my married name. My maiden name was Gaither which is super English. My moms maiden name was Williams which is Irish
Awesome! It's great to have strong British ancestry.
The test you took is only for the Autosomal sides. I too got 100%, however, when I had my maternal side done I found out I had many genetic markers in common with Europeans, North Africans, and the Japanese. What a shocker that was! I guess no one truly is 100%.

Lol you're a fucking troll. Don't talk about things you don't have any idea about.
something about the americans, they just really want to be irish. please could someone enlighten me why.
Peter Atkinson lol because that's what I was told I was growing up & it became a part of who I was. So to find out I'm much less than I thought I was, was kind of disappointing. That's all.
Peter Atkinson I was wondering the same. There is this weird fixation with being Irish
mericans just want to be the underdog..were i live everybody claims to be Arsh indians
You got a Finnish face not iberian - the iberian part might be the teeth ( but so are scandinian girls cheekbones/teeth. ) So much that the natives in Sweden or Finland would take you for one of them - Sweden had at one point 10% of the population Finns and so does Finland, 10-20 % swedes)
you look beautiful with out the piercing
Wow never seen 100 percent European. I really want to do it but 100 dollars for a DNA test for fun seems expensive
Kevin yeah I was kind of iffy about spending that much but it was definitely worth it! And usually you'll get something you don't necessarily expect
Well maybe some of us but not me
Ashley Martin Yeah i will do it someday, liked the video :) Hope you have a nice rest of the day :)

Wow that's a lot! What else are you?
6% scandinavian and 2% iberian like you. I was expecting about 12% irish but i only got 2% which was disapointting. The other one was 3% Italy/ Greece.
but you live in britain? im 75% british, 11% irish and my family has been in america for over 200 years, they kept it pretty consistent. lol anyways my results were 75% brit, 11% irish, 6% western euro, 3% scandi, 3% finnish/north west russian (most likely finnish would explain the scandi % as well) 1% italian/greek, 1 % iberian penn.
Don Draper pretty similar to mine! I like in the United States
oh i meant to direct that comment to greenworld. :P but yes our results are pretty similar.
Thanks
You paid cash money for a test to tell you you're white lolol, damn people will spend money on anything.
most Spaniards do not have very "white" skin, blue eyes, and yellow hair.

Ms. Smith yeh bg

Ms. Smith yeh we are European 😉
+robert kelly I know lol it's the blonde hair.
Ms. Smith and the blue eyes lol
all white
Lol yep
You said you dont look Spanish or Portuguese...some of the Spaniards do look Nordic...they are still white people.
