    • @nedhill1242
      @nedhill1242 3 года назад +13

      Each state determines daylight savings time. It’s not a national law. There are two states that do not participate. Arizona and I forget the other one. I think it might be Indiana. All you need to do is start a petition drive in your state. Get enough signatures and you can get a proposition vote at the next general election.

      @@jackhammer1021 so then there are three states. Actually I think a Y doesn’t really count because they’re in their own time zone several hours away. This only matters in the continental United States. When you’re as far away as Hawaii it doesn’t affect business in the continental United States because you know you’ve got a big time difference. But when you conduct business and you’re dealing with different time zones it makes a huge difference. In the lower 48 a.k.a. the continental United States I think it’s just Arizona and Indiana.
      No one cares about Hawaii and Alaska. They don’t factor into much daily business activity for the average person. Nor the average business.

Since then, I have realized that sleep is very important, if I don't get enough sleep, I will not be able to stay awake to do anything, and I will always be tired. Now I love sleeping but because of work, I rarely get a good night's sleep

    On a certain level, we have sleep in our brain, the neurochemicals that show up in flow: so dopamine, norepinephrine, anandamide, endorphins, and serotonin. If you were to try to cocktail the street drug version of that, right, you're trying to blend like heroin and speed and coke and acid and weed- and point is, you can't do it. It turns out the brain can cocktail all of 'em at once, which is why people will prefer flow to almost any experience on Earth. It's our favorite experience. It's the most addictive experience on Earth. Why? 'Cause it cocktails five or six of the largest pleasure drugs the brain can produce. We're all capable of so much more than we know. That is a commonality across the board. And one of the big reasons is we're all hardwired for flow, and flow is a massive amplification of what's possible for ourselves.

    Check your viewpoint about sleep. The Bible says: “Better is a handful of rest than two handfuls of hard work and chasing after the wind.” Sleep is a necessity, not a luxury. Without it, the quality of your work-and even the quality of your fun-will plummet!

      Actually, studies show that average office workers are only really productive for 2 hours out of the day. They’re not really getting a whole lot done during the other hours. It would actually probably be more beneficial to reduce the work day to 2-4 hours a day, which would further motivate people to get their stuff done in the allotted time, plus people would just be in a better mood because they’d have time to go out and enjoy their lives.

    In order to sleep, it has to be fun to sleep. So, if we are being creative in making things fun by using the theory of suggestion, a talk with the divine, massage various parts of the bodies while breathing deeply, drinking water to lower the temperature, etc.., then sleeping would be easy. In short, the body has to be cool, and we have to breathe deeply to bring more oxygen the cells, then we would just sleep. If it still does not work, then try to massage every parts of the body while breathing deeply, so the muscles could be relaxed. We have to tell ourselves that we would deal with things the next day, and if it is beyond our control, then let God do the worry while we sleep.)

    Lean philosophy imo has been a major contributor to workplace stress.

    Suggestion that a key part of the need for sleep is the body's need to make serotonin, which it does in a symbiotic relationship with gut bacteria in the large intestine.
    We sleep to first produce serotonin, then to draw it into the body through the extraction of water in the large intestine.
    Though it can be synthesized, there seems to be a major difference in the health benefits from the micro made serotonin, and the artificially made serotonin.
    Here's some notes on both how important serotonin is and how widespread it is in all living things.
    Besides mammals, serotonin is found in all bilateral animals including worms and insects,[19] as well as in fungi and in plants.[20] Serotonin's presence in insect venoms and plant spines serves to cause pain, which is a side-effect of serotonin injection.[21][22] Serotonin is produced by pathogenic amoebae, and its effect in the human gut is diarrhea.[23] Its widespread presence in many seeds and fruits may serve to stimulate the digestive tract into expelling the seeds.[24]
    Gut bacteria manufacture about 95 percent of the body's supply of serotonin, which influences both mood and GI activity.
