- Steve Riley, veteran drummer who had a lengthy tenure in L.A. Guns and also for a time in W.A.S.P. has died at the age of 67, his family confirmed. Tributes are pouring in for Steve Riley.

DAMN! Met him a few times. He was really nice to the fans. He even split a beer with me after the show. There was no shortage of beer, he just liked a good conversation. Man this is hard, and it sucks. Really good guy.

I had the opportunity to talk to Steve here in Las Vegas maybe 10 years ago - Super cool guy, amazing drummer - a real bummer to lose him. RIP Steve.

First time I saw him play was when he was with W.A.S.P. When they opened for Iron Maiden in 1985 in Dallas Texas at the Reunion Arena RIP brother drummer

My father was a big LA Guns fan and got me into them as well. My dad sadly passed away 3 years ago. And I hope they are up in heaven having a drink and a smoke together.

That is sad. I met that guy and most of the band after a show in 1988 or 89. They put on such great shows.
I became a fan as a teenager when he was in Wasp. You'll be missed man!

I joined the LA Guns circus for a few shows during the ''Rips the Covers off'' European Tour back in 2004 . It was a Steve Riley - Phil Lewis version with Stacey Blades on guitars and Adam Hamilton on Bass .. I took care of the band all the way as a Road Manager, we partied hard , we had a great time. . Steve always texted me like ''Dude, can I come to your room ?'' or ''Nikki, are you alone ? You got girlz?'' - - Cos I kept the weed and everything else in my room. - He was running the money and band bussiness as well as he pounded the drums . Great guy . When it was time to split at the airport, he gave me 2 tour shirts and a signed copy of Rips The Covers off ,hugged me like a big brother while having ''one last beer'' . I hated the former members attitudes on Riley recent years . He deserved much better ,he was a Real Deal a true Rock N Roll survivor . R.I.P STEVE ...
We will truly miss Riley.

He did not play on Sex Action. That was on the 1st LA GUNS album and that album was recorded before Steve joined the band. He is in the band picture on that album cover though. RIP Steve. You were a helluva drummer.

Steve didn’t play on “Sex Action” or anything on the 1st L.A. Guns album. That was done by Nickey Alexander, aka Nickey Beats. Who, before that, played in the legendary punk band The Weirdos.
It's a shame, especially because of a thing, like pneumonia.

Can Phil Lewis ever say anything nice about literally anyone without being such a shady queen..? It's fun in almost every other context, but that post from LA Guns FB reeks of Phil Lewis brand of super salty shade and its kinda lame given the circumstance. LA Guns are such a clusterf*ck and the cattiness/rivalry is definitely part of what makes following their antics so interesting... But prefacing your condolences with "we were never friends" just seems like taking this petty ish too far. Y'all are 60+ years old lol.
