purchasesd this today. my first purchase in soundpaint. now i need the Adastra ensemble. i had been on the fence for my new library purchase but the 3.0 update features swung it. investing in this platform this year to build my library.
I have the free libs for soundpaint. There sound amazing and have so much flexibility. I'm saving up for some of the paid ones this year. I'm glad I gave soundpaint a chance. Now I can't imagine NOT having it. 😂. I love the layout soundpaint brings . Easy peasy, and it's MORPING TImE AnyTIME! Lol
Well done. Amazing effects and realism (i.e. playing a violin and making it sound like you're actually playing it, although you are using a keyboard). My respect.
8Dio version of ARCS have an articulation called "Poly-Arcs" and with this articulation we can change chords without starting from the beginning of the sample. But in Soundpaint version (even SP is more advanced than Kontakt), Adastra Ensembles or Chambers do not include Poly-Arcs, right? But why? Will they be added in the future?
Yes and no. When you record three sections (Solo, Chamber, Full Ensemble) it becomes very time-consuming. The entire Adastra collection was over 60 days of 24 hour recordings in total, so an enormous amount of material. Concessions have to be made. The Solo and Full Ensemble has Pizzicato and Tremolo for Full Ensemble, so it is sorta there if you have the Ensemble, but also realize it isn't exactly the same.
No trills, no harmonics. I know the price is nothing compared to competitors, but there's a lot missing here, and they have most of these in the full ensemble, I don't get it, and I hope they update it, even if that means a price increase.
Hey team, do you know why the Legato Speed is always loaded with the slowest Legato Time when we add that module to the rack? And also in Programs, the Legato Time aways is set to a faster Legato Time, like by 50% faster... Why is this? Is this something you guys recommend? I would think leaving it unchanged would be better as the legatos in Anthology are quite good, but I find it hard to replicate that in Soundpaint.
Legato Time is about the auto-sustain of Legatos, while Legato Speed is about the interval's speed. Essentially, our default legato strings programming mirrors that of a piano. With Soundpaint's feature of unlimited polyphonic legato, they're designed to be played like a regular piano, albeit with modwheel dynamic control. For times when using the sustain pedal is not preferable, Legato Time proves useful, as it naturally sustains the legatos.
@@Soundpaintmusic Thanks for the quick reply. I did mean the Legato Speed sorry. I find that the legatos sound a lot better when the Legato Speed is set to the middle, to unchanged. Not sure if it's only me, but I got great results by loading in the parts manually and playing around with the Legato and ADSR racks as compared to using the programs in the Ensemble Strings. The Chamber Strings though were really beautiful to play straight from the Programs :)
@@5ammy13Got it. It sometimes comes down to personal preference. The good news is every user can choose their own specific speed and volume of intervals. It’s something we discuss a lot internally too. Some like the hotter and more pronounced - others like them more subdued and discrete.

Thank you Randy! It’s amazing how challenging it is to sample “a little wooden box with 4 strings on it”. Cheers 🍻 Troels
Amazing! No choice, have to get this one!!! TX for your amazing work! :D
The most convincing string library out there to date.
I wouldn't go as far as saying that, but for the price it's definitely the best bang for your money and amazing sound too! I agree its a must buy!
Not really
Money is not lost in this giant library
❤

No pizz.? no Trems.? :(
Unfortunately there are not in the source Anthology Strings too. In any case good job. Soundpaint is a gem and these chamber strings sound beautiful.

For only $60 compared to other companies libraries, it's a fair trade off I think.

It's too late...I already bought it. lol But the demos are fantastic tho!
