I owned one from Zotac. I remember walking into shop to buy something else, saw it on the shelf and bought it, i already had gtx 275 at home btw. I earned much less back then than now but there is no way i am gonna to same with rtx 4090. Last GPU i bought that way was MSI GTX 580 Lightning but when i came home i saw i got Lightning Extreme, never entered that shop again and used that gpu for 5 years with i7 3770k..
I personally had a gtx 280 my dad gave to me in 2015. it sucks boot now but it got me into games especially the old source games mainly TF2. it was the first GPU i had that could run tf2.
This GPU is more powerfull, that the one I have in my laptop for daily use. It only has 98 cuda cores, if I remember it right, and watching videos in 720p nowdays is just struggle. And I'm playing games in it. lol
Check my previous video, how to not upgrade:

Have you tried emulating DirectX 11?
Which FPS Display program did you use?
MSI Aferburner with Riva Tuner Statistics Server
