I didn't use this cpu exactly. I went from a ryzen 1500x to a 5600x my fps skyrocketed. Man the 1500x got the job it was never bad, but the 5600x obliterated it in everything.
@@MrEdioss if you had this cpu at launch you’re probably better off buying a new motherboard too as the likely Gen 2 speeds on the PCIE lanes would be a huge bottleneck to modern PCIE 4 GPUs
For a long time _ i was under the impression the Ryzen 3 1200 was based on the Athlon architecture and not the Ryzen architecture and that's why it didn't perform better.
I was actually expecting much weaker results. I upgraded from a Ryzen 7 1700 and I pretty much ran stuff the same way this Ryzen 3 does. Even CS2 runs in a pretty similar fashion, despite it utilizng more than just two cores. Could've been my ram, I cheaped out quite a lot with it and never bothered to upgrade it ;p.
I used a Ryzen 5 1400 for years, can say the performance is practically the same, even though it has SMT, finally was able to change it to a R5 4500 a couple of years ago, now I have to upgrade my RX 570
I have a Ryzen 3 1300X with Rx 550 de 2 GB and 16 gb de ram en dual channel, for games competitive is good in 2024, with my pc i play Gta 5 online, Rocket League, Far cry 3, and Fortnite, Watching since Argentina 🇦🇷
I hate how people say four cores is obsolete, if more cores better yes. But a good four core can get the job down for games with less fps, I like to think of them as standby cpus. Till you can afford something better.

I had a Ryzen 3 1200 for a bit while i saved for a better CPU. Overclocking wasn't great at all. I could barely get 3.7ghz stable. Either a bad sample or a skill issue. It got me by but it really struggled in BF5 multiplayer for example.
its way faster then any fx cpu especially 4 core ones!1 i have athlon 760k 4/4 which are piledriver too and it cant do nothing or bottleneck alot even rx 570 4gb on games as cs2 so it have barrelly 30-35 fps average (on 1360x768) and around 4-5fps on 1% low and most of time are those 1% low so it stuters and freeze alot and commands are lazy and unresponsive as frozzen turtle

1:00 - 1:10 - 3200Mhz CL22 is Jedec spec and quite slow, 3200/16 is "market standard" and good ram would be 3200/14 Samsung b-die 😊
Went from this and rx 570 to R5 7600 and RX 7900xt. The difference was insane. Fucking life changing going from medium 1080p to max 2160p gaming.
Damn! What an upgrade! Can the 570 be overclocked to 580 level performance?
@drew2626 depends which model is it and how lucky are u but I'm going to assume no

Please compare this CPU to what it replaced, the bulldozer fx line. How does it compare to the fx-8350?
I thought if you used Wuthering Waves theme (remix) you would at least test the game xD
I used because it was made my Animadrop. Animadrop is goat of electronic music. Number one on Spotify streams

I can be wrong, but I doesn't said that in general 4 cores is bad. For sure we have great i3 12100
@BaBenche I don't mean you a lot of people and youtubers call four cores obsolete. I didn't mean you spefically.

Yeah, I used i5 7400 from 2017 to 2022
Overclock?
Here is stock, but my example work stable at 3.9 GHz
Ryzen 3 2200G is usually slower than a Ryzen 3 1200 since the 2200G has half the L3 cache memory, and still only uses original Zen cores.
But it has higher stock frequency. I think best way that I can do it's just compare these CPUs

more like 1060/rx580

theres a handful of zen processors that are not faster the 2200g and 2200ge
What if you went up to 1440p?
It all depends on the GPU. If the GPU can provide the same FPS as it does at 1080p, there won’t be any noticeable difference.
