    Ah, I too remember those Arcade days. When those old grannies started to gather around the cabinet you knew it was all worth the money.

    Takes advantage of the aga chipset u say? Its designed for ocs/ecs. Which makes it even more stunning to look at. I'm not sure if its 32col or 64 ehb but both are possible I bet due to the lack of parallax. Id rather have that them multiple layers of parallax and a limited palette.

    Can’t forget about Irem’s Vigilante, which it looks like this game borrowed some animations from

    Looks like a winner. I played the original kung fu master back in the day when it was 20c a game. It took me a while to pass the 4th stage as someone told me you need to punch the boss in the abdomen. All other hits essentially did nothing. For sure the game reminded me of the kung fu movies of the time such as fist of fury, the big boss, and of course the game of death, which this game is based on.

      You did well to get to the fourth level. For me, the third level was barrier and back then there were only so many 20 cent coins I was willing to pump into the game.

    Nice review! It's nice to see the Amiga get some new quality games, there is no system quite like it, so its always a treat when something like this comes up.

      Thank you for the feedback,. I do think the Amiga is under serviced these days when it comes to quality content. Yes, there have been some good ports of late but I want to use the Amiga to play games that I can't get anywhere else.

    A great addition to the Amiga's beat 'em up library. As a bonus, this game also has a delightful easter egg which Richard is FOREVER in bits about. 😭

    I had to look twice to be sure I'm not seeing wrong when that police officer appeared at 1:58 😅

    I'm a bit confused as to why, in both the original and this Amiga remake, the enemies don't seem to punch or kick the player when they get next to him, rather they simply hold their hands out. I saw one woman doing a flying kick, but that's it. The player starts losing health at one point in this video, even though the enemies seem to be just standing very close to him, there is no indication of what they are doing to inflict damage.

    ATA or AGA chipset? ;-)

      AGA...did I say ATA or maybe its just my funny accent?

    • @txtworld
      @txtworld Год назад +1

      At 1:34 I heard AGA - it's just a matter of becoming accustomed to the Aussie accent

      @@RetroGamerNation I concentrate more on the translation because I'm not from an English-speaking area and it said ATA. It doesn't matter that much, an honest mistake. ;-)

    I heard the game's collision detection is a bit off

    • @RetroGamerNation
      @RetroGamerNation  Год назад +1

      I paid attention to the hit detection when I replayed it recently. It is a little different to KungFu Master and I took it as requiring precision hits (i.e. hit them in the face with the actual fist or foot, not the forearm or leg). Not sure if this is intentional though.

    • @txtworld
      @txtworld Год назад

      @@RetroGamerNation In that case, it sounds OK - there's nothing wrong with requiring precision
