Cant believe everyone here is around early 30s. This brings back those days when responsibilities and other people's feelings are of no concern to us. Those were the days, and to remember that today, will be 'those days' when we're 50. cherish these times as well guys
Mid 30's here. Its kinda hard to explain that one of my cherished childhood memories are 2 years of a videogame when asked. Life is so hard now man. But sometimes youtube suggests me this kind of videos and for a brief moment, i find a little peace.
This and other BGM from Classic RO gives me both joy and sadness, i miss the olden days. Now 35 year old me listening to this makes life little bit more easy. THANK you so much RO, you made my childhood worth remembering.
@@bonghy yeah bro they really messed up but still i'm greatful for RO, i can't even express my gratitude to Gravity. I was a troubled boy back then and RO give me hope by having fun.
Yes I can relate to you... It seems we have inherited a very broken and ruined world and we are doing our best to keep it turning. So don't worry, you're doing your best and you will be fine. Just don't forget to sit down and relax while listening to relaxing nostalgia music every once in a while, it helps a lot!
same age. Those times were magical. The community was so nice. Just sitting around in Aldebaran and talk with friends for hours.. and leveling with the nice bgm on the background felt like a real adventure. It's sad that the current iRO turned into a single player mmo

If someone asked me to remember Ragnarok music after all those years, I'd probably draw a blank, initially. But actually hearing the music brings back so many memories, the recognition is immediate! I used to play it in internet cafes, every time on another computer, with awkward session timer UI in the background. Feels like it was so peaceful for me back then. I knew I would feel happy and excited in-game, and I felt the same when I emerged after the session. The virtual world and the real one seemed to be in sync for a while.
There's so much of real in the virtual world of Ragnarok. Characters driven by players is such a breakthrough in RPGs, it's a definitive game genre. Live trading with people require the most human grip of negotiation. Joining clans and actively participating in group events commands cooperation and camaraderie, thus preparing the ground for friendship to grow. All of that while listening to utmost beautiful melodies that actually touch deeply one's heart. It's such a crime what this franchise was turned into. It should go on. But for now, let's just celebrate these sounds of beauty and adventure. So comfy did we enjoy our magical journey in this wonderful world of Rune-Midgard for a while.

About 20 years ago, I was in this world on the day the Fenrir server was established. I would come home from school and immediately log in, enjoying epic adventures. Being able to experience this game is the most valuable treasure of my life.
Fighting the urge to cry listening to these, the memories are too strong. When i played this game for the first time, back in 2005 or so, things were... not so good. And this game was an escape from a teenage life that I was very unhappy with. Nowadays things are much better, but I still have some bad memories from that time. These songs remind me it wasn't all bad.
Happy that you are in a better place now. I feel connected to you through our memory of RO even though at that time we might have been sitting in front of screen half a planet apart.

I love how everyone is talking about their memories and how good they are. RO was really special for everyone who played it and it will always be in our hearts. I played this 2004 to about 2010. I was 10/11 in 2004. I've met so many kind people that I will cherish for life.
I keep coming back to RO music. It reminds me someone I lost. This is a very vulnerable feeling but at the same time, can't stop to remember those good feelings I had.
Man I miss this game. Even though I know there are private servers and everything, it's not the same. Everybody knows exactly what they are doing from class builds to levelling to how to make money now. I liked the sense of discovery more than just min/maxing everything as it is now.
People were competitive going through dungeons and everything else. I was chilling with my egirl in the remotest places and mundane towns. Ppl would like to party just to enjoy each other's company. The all nighter's in Glast Heim. The leeches that sit in front of the door and we help them level up. Man those were the days!
2003 years, its a good thing I manage to experience those times, It was fun, exciting and very simple. Balancing school and play is so much fun, thank you Ragnarok for the wonderful memories I've met a lot of great people in those times. No amount of MMORPG could replace this legendary game. I wish someone would make a game like this were there is no monetization and just pay to play style, Ive accumulated lots of top-up cards just to play this game, too bad the bots destroyed the game and that is the main reason why games are being closed or abandon.
I'm turning 35 in a few days and Ragnarok online has been a pivotal part of my teenage years. I remember the very first town I landed to which is Geffen where I made my first character - a mage. A mage with a f*cked up stats LOL. I enjoyed playing with my two brothers, one made a swordsman and the other made an archer. It felt so good fire bolting the porings, pupas, fabres, roda frogs in the map up north hahaha! And the background music is what really sets it apart from other games. Excellent! I still do play from time to time when I miss it a lot and when time permits.
Hours of grinding, meeting new friends, etc. I learned life through this game. Kind people, friends, scammers, trashtalk, laugh, love, hate, economy and resource management, pvp, mvp, WoE. So many fun memories flooding in while watching this. I’m 32 now and couldn’t grind as much anymore cuz of work and my back couldn’t stand sitting for hours😢 I’m still trying to find private servers that fits my comfort, but i think no PS will ever beat my experience in classic RO server.
Felt like, everyone whoever played this legendary game should have a global server and meet everyone there online. Talked about life and how did things changed so fast. Like at our ages, 30's and above already, should have atleast once in a while take a break from this stressful life of being an adult. Time flies brothers, time flies.....
i know it's not RO, but from all the modern MMORPG that i've dabbled in, i'd recommend FFXIV. at least in my server(south east asian), most of the player base is basically in their 30s. a lot of them is a former RO player too. this is not ads, btw. just a suggestion. and it's free for the early game anyway, so you can test the water.
Reading the comments while the songs are playing.. I just can't help my tears. I don't know if life just got really hard for most of us because of everything that's happened but I feel like when I listen to these bgms I can bear the complications of life a little better.
I dont have nostalgia for anything like I do old RO. The people just chilling at the square always ready to chat with open chatrooms. Vendors running around like crazy doing there thing. No MMO to me has ever felt as lived in, as loved by its playerbase. I don't expect anything to ever fulfill this fantasy as well as RO did. I think about going back, but I worry my nostalgia won't hold up. Still, I can boot up the OST and go back to that feeling every now and then, it's very nice.
journey from prontera to payon with my friends, then to morroc and then to geffen. walking with them and hit everything a long the way. laugh with tears. miss good old days. :)
Can we talk about how smooth the transition between Ready, Nice 'n' Easy, and Everlasting Wanderers is? Just listen to that goodness... 17:36 and 19:56 It was so smooth I had to do a double take both times because I didn't notice the song had changed until several seconds in. Spectacular job at matching the beat perfectly.
My childhood, my early 2000's years is something so dear to my heart and many here that are commenting. I remember seeing my cousin playing RO and I wanted to be part of that so I got into it and I even remember something happened with the installation that I couldn't figure out so my cousin had to come home to fix it for me lol. I played in XileRO but I didn't do MvPs and more stuff that I see most did and learned about years later xD, all I did was leveling, PvP, trying to get that new cool set or piece of gear and WoE. RO motivated me (along with my PS2 and the games) to learn English (my main language is Spanish, I'm from Dominican Republic) because I wanted to understand what other people were saying and interact with them. I made some good friends and I still remember one that quit the game and left me his account. Oh those halcyon days that will never come back, makes me so nostalgic and sad but in a good way, wish I could go back to those days as many here I'm sure. Nowdays I play FF14 but man it is not the same and never will be. All we have now are the memories, the soundtrack that I can never ever get tired of, those sound effects, the classes, oof.
wow i only now realize in retrospect.. this game and its music was so incredibly versatile its insane, it literally touches almost every major soundscape of the era before, during and directly after Streamside / Peaceful Forest : setting the standard for Starting Town Music for the next 18 years Tread on Ground : Frutiger Aero You're in ruins / One step closer : Sonic-MANIA Ancient Groover / Theme of Payon : Shamisen shopping episode Antique Cowboy : Broodwar space trucking Desert : Post Y2K Beach Episode Into the Abyss : Age of Wonders Shadow Magic One Fine Day : literally summer of 2003 🥲
No Odin Temple theme? 😢 that is one of the best Still remember First character class : Hunter First valuable drop : Blade (4) First card drop : wolf card First MVP card : Evil Snake Lord card ( the only MVP card i got ) Nostalgic here 😢 great video
Salamat old days.
Those songs are tattooed on my head, i can recall their pieces in full detail from memory... its a good thing to have while the age dont erode them all...
Still cant get over those times I had... I don't particularly remember of all the details, but the feeling remains.... Like..... it was real.... Still go back from time to time but I can't feel what I felt...
i think i never played a MMO after RO where pople would legit have spot to just chat around each guild had a city/spot where they would meet you could go to other places just to talk it was amazing
I played the free bRO Beta in 2003. I still remember when the game's CD with the amazing map(spent many hours on the toilet with it heh) arrived when I first subscribed for the release version that same year(or 2004, can't remember exactly when it was officially released now). Those were really sweet times, I've made some good friends and memories while playing this game.
The opening BGM plunges you into a world full of potential and adventure. Chance to meet friends and get stronger along the way. Thank you RO. This 36 year old never regretted one day playing this classic.
I remember meeting some of the coolest friends on this game, making a guild, raid bosses, spending hours just hanging out randomly in dungeons while farming for items. Man i miss those days, I wish all my old guild mates wherever you are hope your still being as cool if not cooler and having amazing lives.
I was there, somewhere near the city of Geffen in 2005-2006. A magician hitting poporings with a wooden staff cuz im out of mana. And hell yes, those poporing sent me back to the respawn point alot!
Maybe I'm strange, but this is like the perfect work music. It's not repetitious like the other music channels. It has a variety of music styles. It isn't irritating like a channel that has a flute or something playing over and over. This is great, and I've never played Ragnarok.
Save the playlist for later. The more you listen to these BGMs the more you like them. Trust me its more than 20y old already and people like us here still coming back time to time.
Oh man, missing the old times. Year 2005, I was 1st year high school in an internet cafe with friends, exploring maps and killing monsters, occasionally doing PVPs with friendly trashtalks. It's quite sad that those nostalgic moments exist only now in our memories and can never be felt again.
I remember playing with my cousin & grinding by fighting poring, lunatic, flora, bigfoot, and spore We were still too young to fully understand ragnarok and what certain things meant but it was always lots of fun
I know I'll come back to this video one day, but RO was such cool game to meet people as a teenager. I'll never forget the friends I met there. I really wish I had treasured most of the friendships I made there a bit more.
Great times, in ro. I played it during the last years of high school and most of the university (something like 2005-2010). It was probably the first time in my life that I felt part of a community. And having a nickname inside that community was great. Up to this day, I keep using my Ro's nickname (Finnigan) for all videogames
I cant believe it was 20 years ago. Making thief with explorer roleplay in mind, exploring all available map in progress. Travelling with friends, meeting new people, making trash guild, entering woe, and someday achieve aura together. I know my parents are mad at me playing this game, but this is my memorable youth. Every map, every song, prontera, prontera outskirt, sewer, byalan, morroc, juno, payon, i meant, EVERY MAP EVERY BGM, have their own memory. God, i really missed this feeling..
This is one thing i like about MMORPG's. Whenever i hear their bgm, especially classic games like ragna, BOI, and Perfect World who had the best soundtracks give so much nostalgia. I really miss those times.
Thank you for this This bring tears to my eyes... so many good memories, so many good friends... Life was so simple back then... I want to be kid again, used to just sit under a tree, listening to these music and chat with friends... Used to explore around with no purpose and just enjoy a game. Good times.
One of my biggest regrets is not playing RO at the time it was popular. My partner at the time was a seasoned RO player, but I was (and still am) into OSrunescape more. It sucks, even jumping on a 1x custom server nowadays would not be the same. I unfortunately just missed the train.
Turning 40 this year. I still listen to RO soundtrack very often. It's not only a fun and creatively made game, the soundtrack is actually really well done. I visited South Korea recently and it sounded like Payon. Well without the music 😂 .... So many friends and funny idiotic memories. I think what made it truly special was the ability to express and chat with another. /Bawi
Damn I'm 31 now , And I can still hear the angelus bell ringing in my ears 🤣 good old days I feel sad cuz I'm getting old but lucky I was able to play this legendary game ❤❤
Great adventures I lived in this fantasy land with my friends, it was my second home from 2004 to 2013. It's been 9 years of playing this game and participating in countless wars and evolving to the point of becoming almost immortal and starting to help other players because after you evolve so much what makes you feel good is helping.

It doesn't hold up :D. I've went back and forth for a while. The most sad thing was closing down the whole Europe server just because of GPDR wtf
the Prontera market is amazing...a truely a virtual world so lively ....no other MMO can replicate that
Good times. Long gone times. Thank you for uploading this.
"long gone times" that hit hard
journey from prontera to payon with my friends, then to morroc and then to geffen. walking with them and hit everything a long the way. laugh with tears. miss good old days. :)
Leveling up by killing seals.. then to orc village.
Can we talk about how smooth the transition between Ready, Nice 'n' Easy, and Everlasting Wanderers is? Just listen to that goodness... 17:36 and 19:56
It was so smooth I had to do a double take both times because I didn't notice the song had changed until several seconds in. Spectacular job at matching the beat perfectly.
I want you as dj at my party
The mixing is great in this!
Brings me back to high school, playing private servers, great times
Man really hit different RO is like something else.. Right through the heart
I miss the old days just hanging out with friends...
All we have now are the memories, the soundtrack that I can never ever get tired of, those sound effects, the classes, oof.
wow i only now realize in retrospect.. this game and its music was so incredibly versatile its insane, it literally touches almost every major soundscape of the era before, during and directly after
Streamside / Peaceful Forest : setting the standard for Starting Town Music for the next 18 years
Tread on Ground : Frutiger Aero
You're in ruins / One step closer : Sonic-MANIA
Ancient Groover / Theme of Payon : Shamisen shopping episode
Antique Cowboy : Broodwar space trucking
Desert : Post Y2K Beach Episode
Into the Abyss : Age of Wonders Shadow Magic
One Fine Day : literally summer of 2003 🥲
Ragnarok will always be the number one game to me.nothing can match it.😢miss it so much.😢the game and music is the greatest ever.
Shout out to anyone that remembers DarkRO Pie, I was just a little baby but I'll never forget that server. Thanks for the video and nostalgia trip
Cute video, brings me back to year 2003 RO Beta, a n00b archer exploring the field on the way to Coal Mine with disco soundtrack
I was a senior in high school when the open beta closed and IRO was officially released!
No Odin Temple theme? 😢 that is one of the best
Still remember
First character class : Hunter
First valuable drop : Blade (4)
First card drop : wolf card
First MVP card : Evil Snake Lord card ( the only MVP card i got )
Nostalgic here 😢 great video
Salamat old days.
Those songs are tattooed on my head, i can recall their pieces in full detail from memory... its a good thing to have while the age dont erode them all...
Still cant get over those times I had... I don't particularly remember of all the details, but the feeling remains....
Like..... it was real.... Still go back from time to time but I can't feel what I felt...
And yet, we didnt know that was the best part of our lives, this gets me so nostalgic.
i think i never played a MMO after RO where pople would legit have spot to just chat around
each guild had a city/spot where they would meet
you could go to other places just to talk it was amazing
I played the free bRO Beta in 2003. I still remember when the game's CD with the amazing map(spent many hours on the toilet with it heh) arrived when I first subscribed for the release version that same year(or 2004, can't remember exactly when it was officially released now). Those were really sweet times, I've made some good friends and memories while playing this game.
The opening BGM plunges you into a world full of potential and adventure. Chance to meet friends and get stronger along the way. Thank you RO. This 36 year old never regretted one day playing this classic.
Thank you ROPh for being part of my childhood. Now 36 yrs. old still listening to this masterpiece BGM
RO was part of my life, i made a family with online friends. It's both sad and happy.
can we just appreciate how all those synth melodies fuckin SLAP
Never played this game in my life but somehow feels so nostalgic.
Save the playlist for later. The more you listen to these BGMs the more you like them. Trust me its more than 20y old already and people like us here still coming back time to time.
oh boy, you should try and since you play alone. you probably escape several years later: the key word is play ragnarok offline
give it a try. you could try some classic private servers, and there’s like hundreds of guides you can follow as you play along 😊
Oh man, missing the old times. Year 2005, I was 1st year high school in an internet cafe with friends, exploring maps and killing monsters, occasionally doing PVPs with friendly trashtalks. It's quite sad that those nostalgic moments exist only now in our memories and can never be felt again.
Been 20 years since playing. Ancient groover is still on my playlist.
definitely one of my all time favs.
There's so many bangers like Ancient Groover in the OST. It never gets old.
Yetit Petit!
Miss the old days, IRO CHAOS 👌🏻🫡
Love you
I wish I played more of RO when I was younger, this game's music is amazing.
You can play it on your cell phone
Private server
Best MMO ever made, in terms of
Design
Bgm
Class system
Pvp and PvE content
Balancing
Market
Economy
I remember playing with my cousin & grinding by fighting poring, lunatic, flora, bigfoot, and spore
We were still too young to fully understand ragnarok and what certain things meant but it was always lots of fun
I know I'll come back to this video one day, but RO was such cool game to meet people as a teenager. I'll never forget the friends I met there. I really wish I had treasured most of the friendships I made there a bit more.
A transição entre Ready e Be Nice'n Easy ficou maravilhosa ♥
best game ever! 40 years old here
Great times, in ro. I played it during the last years of high school and most of the university (something like 2005-2010). It was probably the first time in my life that I felt part of a community. And having a nickname inside that community was great. Up to this day, I keep using my Ro's nickname (Finnigan) for all videogames
time flies so fast... 🥲🥲
My first ever mmo and loved it
I cant believe it was 20 years ago.
Just started playing RO again after 15+ years :)
Amazing selection, most of those are among my favorite songs in the game.
Played this back but only a little time not a hardcore Ragnarok gamer but I feel nostalgic every time i heard or watch Ragnarok online
This is one thing i like about MMORPG's. Whenever i hear their bgm, especially classic games like ragna, BOI, and Perfect World who had the best soundtracks give so much nostalgia. I really miss those times.
One of the best game soundtracks ever.
Thank you for this
This bring tears to my eyes... so many good memories, so many good friends...
The internet, hell even the whole world has changed from those halcyon days. What I would give to be able to go back man, 32 here.
/Bawi
the list is perfect, included everything I wanted to hear
Excellent mix. Love the visuals matching the themes as well.
Nostalgia heaven. My whole Highschool years in one instant.
it feels like my soul want to go back at that time, when i first time playing, and friends i found along the game..
Streamside is so good and relaxing, and nostalgic.
Oh my past live, miss you.
This music reminds me of my good old college days 21 yrs ago😢
the best ever online game.. ive ever played...... very nostalgic .... thank you ragnarok online.....
i never played this game but the music keeps bringing me back
Geffen still sounds insane to this day
Damn I'm 31 now , And I can still hear the angelus bell ringing in my ears 🤣 good old days I feel sad cuz I'm getting old but lucky I was able to play this legendary game ❤❤
Great adventures I lived in this fantasy land with my friends, it was my second home from 2004 to 2013. It's been 9 years of playing this game and participating in countless wars and evolving to the point of becoming almost immortal and starting to help other players because after you evolve so much what makes you feel good is helping.
so many good old days
memories keep coming back when I hear RO music. Already 33 and I still love this
Nostalgic, those BGMs bring back so many many memories, both happy and sad ones :) they're always inside my heart and by my side
Classic pRO (pre-renewal) tambay lang ako palagi sa Glast Heim underprison naka-magnificat party habang nagpapalevel at kulitan sa lahat magdamag hehe. Sarap maging Full Support High Priest noon 😢
