Sesame Balls | crispy, mochi-like, and filled with chocolate lava

- WE LOVE CHOCOLATE FILLED MOCHI SESAME BALLS!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup glutinous rice flour
- 1/4 cup extra glutinous rice flour (i ended up using 3 tbsp of the 1/4 cup)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup boiling water
- sesame seeds
- your favourite chocolate (i used 40% dark chocolate)

Question... I attempted to make this, but the balls puffed up, popped and cracked ...resembling a huge popped corn. ☹ They tasted good but most sesame seeds fell off. 😫 Any ideas as to why they didn't look beautiful as yours? I followed each step.
