@GTR24 seems to be the go to answer for people that care about stats rather then actually driving cars. I do a decent amount or track driving and anyone that buys the auto versions of cars are always in the beginner groups taking all the wrong lines out on track hah
Maybe there are better cars on that price range, definitely there are more capable cars out there but the new Z looks AMAZING! Looks like a mix of Japan classic with almost italian beauty (my italian birth certificate will probably kill me while I sleep...). I think it's the car you choose with the heart even more than let's say a Supra. It's a pity we don't get the new Z in Europe...

The Z wasn’t about being the fastest. It was about fun and affordable Nissan completely missed the boat with this one. Looks great though. I had two 280 Z’s back in the day love those cars but I’ll keep my ass2000

@@madrx2 no. No it won't. If it already can't beat a mk5 and nearly get beaten by a 86,it's not touching a RS3. RS3s are already capable of hitting flat 12s to high 11s while the Z is still hitting just a low 12 and no lower. And at best, the Z is at a disadvantage since the auto models aren't far off or are near about the same weight as a RS3(actually a 2019 RS3 is lighter than the Z by 200lbs while the current model is closer in weight to the Z). At best, the Z's not touching the RS3 anytime soon and at best, the nismos no better cause that literally weights almost 100lbs more than the current RS3 so regardless,the Z isn't winning anyway as is.

I have a stage 1 tune on the RS3, and my mates stage 1 nissan z pulls two car lengths on me from 60-130mph every single time. This nismo version with the updated box, different wastegates, different ignition system, sticky rubber and revised suspension is going to be a monster. Mark my word.
I love this review because you didn’t let them (Nissan) get away with their decision to go with just the automatic trans. What a horrible mistake . No one cares about lap times. I ,myself , was pretty disappointed. You are a true car enthusiast. I just have a feeling that they’re doing what Toyota did with Supra- delaying the manual until the demand is high .

Thank you! Yeah, I was surprised about the automatic. I'm sure that Nissan is accurate that it laps faster this way, but I agree that's not the top priority of most potential buyers. Problem really is that too few of us manual lovers are out there to buy them. Most people choose automatics, even with sports cars.

Get the regular Z in manual then. Yes they made a stupid decision, i agree with you, but unlike YOU and others, i can care less if they don't make a manual version, i don't NEED a manual version, i am 100% ok with automatic. To me its not the way the car "shifts", its the way the car drives.

I don't need a manual to get your approval. I don't drift, i don't auto-cross and i don't rally so a manual is NOT important to me. I am 100% ok with the automatic simply because i am a straight line race kind of guy and the fastest in a straight line is in an automatic.

The manual has nothing to do with looking manly, "penis size", etc. It's about the connection to the car, the extra enjoyment of rowing your own gears. That's why nearly every enthusiast out there complains when one is not offered on a car like this. Also, according to the Savagegeese/Straight Pipes collaboration video, the Nissan reps in the USA begged for a manual from Japan but apparently Nissan stated the manual gearbox couldn't handle the extra 34 ft-lbs of torque. If you're fine with just mashing the gas pedal and going in a straight line that's fine, though I'd be looking at a different car than the Z as much more capable cars can be had for less and they're not on an old platform.

100 percent agree on the manual. If enough people complain loudly enough, Nissan may reconsider. Porsche did after the 2014 GT3 was lampooned.

Nice I have a base model 370Z if I replace it, it’s has to be a NISMO. The base model has bad resale value.
