I always wanted a treadle singer like grandma had. My husband just found a 1948 singer in the trash with a sewing table but the treadle is missing. They must have put the newer electric model but the stand is still beautiful with 4 drawers.
I just found this exact same machine in my mothers closet! (Well almost exact, this one doesn’t work and is a little rusty…) Apparently it was my grandfather’s, I can’t wait to get it running again and have it on display! Awesome video, I have 2 manuals with it but it’s so old I’d prefer not to touch them so thanks for the tutorial!!! 💕🧵🪡
I am so happy right now!! This video is fantastic, thank you immensely. I was gifted this exact machine by a dearly departed friend and have been doing everything I can to find information about it...WHAT KIND of Singer is it?? I know it is a 1951 machine and I have a model number (I think) but that is all I have. Could you please help me find more information? ANYTHING would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
My house came with a lot of things that were left behind, including an antique Singer almost exactly like this one. I’m restoring a Model T Ford and will use Leontine’s old Singer to sew the upholstery. Thanks so much for your advice. You’ve unlocked s lot of mysteries. 9:16
Does this machine have a thread regulator? My machine looks like yours but others have the thread regulator. I threaded my machine and tried sewing but the thread keep breaking at the bobbin. Upon looking up the problem, I noticed other machines had this other little arm to the left of the tension disks. I thought maybe mine came off while I was moving it. Thanks for any help you may give. Sandra
I have a Singer sewing machine from 1936 (I think) JB366K. I can’t seem to turn it on. Do you know if I can just buy an outlet to make it work? Or try to...
I think we have the same machine. What is your serial number? What do you do if the stitching is all messed up from the bottom? I do not have a manual.
Tina Mercer... this happened to me and I found out that the tension should be around 3 or 4... if it’s lower than that the bottom thread tends to get messed up... sorry if this was too late
Thank you mam for your explanation its very clear and well said. I need only one singer sewing machine for my home use.i am looking where to buy and how much mam.
None of this makes sense if you are new to this. And if your machine doesn't look exactly like hers its extremely hard to keep up. I've spent like 30 minutes just trying to understand the first 3 minutes of the video.
Hi i have the same bobbin holder and i am having trouble getting the bobbin to thread under and up, i would love some details as i do not own the manual
Words can't describe how happy I am right now. Thank you so much for this tutorial. I'm grateful.

This scanned manual might be helpful. www.makehaven.org/system/files/manuals/Singer-Aretha-Manual.pdf
It won't allow me to access it...
What year is this sewing machine one I got looks just like it with light bulb and everything
The machine even has the oil and tons at attachments. 2 buttonholer attachments.
Can't beat a Singer 201! I love mine! If you change to an LED light bulb, it won't be hot at all & it puts out more light.
Thanks. That’s helpful.
Good afternoon. Do you have any black head machine and what is the cost please.
Very helpful video. Thanks 🙏
How do you wind the bobbin on a riccar 570

Can also be the hook timing or wrong needle-fabric combi, or the bottom tension adjustment screw is to tight.
I have the same singer sewing machine in this video.... it’s a 1946. Does anyone know the model?
70331
201-2
How can I find a belt for this machine. Mine is a Singer Electric Machine 15-91?
This one no needs a belt
Do these machines sew in reverse? If not.. how can I ensure that my stitches won't come undone?
I have this 201-2
When you raise the stitch length lever all the way up it does reverse stitching
What model is this machine??
Looks like a 201-2
