Hey Randy, this is the old Montana cowboy, Frank from Livingston, MT. Back in the late 1970's & up to 1989, I lived & worked in Dawson Creek,B.C. & Fort Nelson,B.C. I ended up working for the B.C. Fish & Game as the subsistance hunter for the Northeast quadrant of the Province of British Columbia. I was charged with taking moose for people who were on Social Insurance, ( ie Welfare) for those folks who were unable to get out & hunt for moose due to any number of circumstances including those folks who were disabled. What a satisfying job that was. One of my favorite employments of my entire life!!!.... Randy, I hope that you & Markus & the entire crew had an enjoyable Thanksgiving. Sincerely, the old Montana cowboy, Frank Scherping
@@Fresh_Tracks Yes Randy, I have questioned myself many times as to why I moved back to the States when I did. I really miss living in B.C. Although, I really enjoy the beauty of Montana.
If you happen to listen to Elk Talk with Randy and Corey Jacobsen they talk about this adventure. One of the best podcasts episodes with this video really captures the experience Randy has been looking for. But there's more to this than that; acts of kindness and a lifetime goal for Randy-a Yukon moose, something Randy has saved $200 a month for since the early 90's it what makes this relatable to so many of us. What's even more impressive is that the outfitter gave the moose tag to Randy, just for being Randy in so many ways in spreading the conservation message and getting people excited in hunting and the message and responsibility we need to make contagious.
I listened to the podcast before I watched these verifies and it was hilarious seeing how the “nest” in the back was actually set vs listening to them describe it 😂
Love this whole series in the Yukon. So well done and love Randy’s passion for the hunt and this beautiful place. I spent 3 summers working in the Yukon and love this place.
Thanks Fresh Tracks crew and Randy. You are the most down to earth kinda guy. You've made me rethink hunting it's not a race but a chance to enjoy day by day taking your time.
Congrats Randy! You truly are blessed exceptionally. Glad to see you having this epic of a hunt! Im saving my pennies for a moose hunt for my 40th in Newfoundland...ill get to the Yukon one day, cheers
Congrats on your Canadian Moose Randy. Your smile throughout the whole video looked like a kid in a candy store, you couldn't knock that smile off with a shovel. I like how you and your guys pitch in to help with the chores. Excellent videography, those mountains are calling me!
Those are kind comments and we are glad our joy and excitement comes through on video. Yeah, when an animal hits the ground, we want to be involved in that part, the most important part of converting the live being into food.
Thoroughly enjoying the Yukon! How awesome to see the happiness that all were feeling. Great hunters and guides. Amazing country. Nothing like a fire while hunting.
Wow. What a hunt. So cool to see the camaraderie and friendships that are made with people you have never met. Also seems that Marcus and Michael have become just like family. Keep up the good work and great content.
That moose would have come all the way in for an interview if you’d let him. That was choreographed perfectly. Congrats again on the caribou and now congrats on the moose. Heck of an adventure!!
Glad to see Randy and crew enjoying hunting in Canada. I live and hunt in BC, Region 3 (Interior) and like Randy, I'm an accountant (recently retired) and a year older than Randy I think.
Congrats to Randy, the Fresh Tracks team and the guide! I live in Ky and was fortunate to hunt and kill my first mule deer in Montana last season and a big part of that is because of your mule deer hunting content! I’ve said it before, your content and the Elk101 guys are the absolute best! I hunt everything except whitetail deer, vicariously thru your videos! Excellent video and way to go!!!
This looks like sooo much fun. You have the perfect people with you randy and your excitement spreads thru everyone. Grant is awesome looks like a blast mobbin that Argo around 😂
Appreciate the experience. Would love to get a northern moose. Good job showing you don't need a super 30 cal to get it done. I've taken 3 moose with the same load and calibre... It works.
What an adventure, thank you for sharing. Nice seeing the big smiles and what a memory for you to savour. Question - for the long road trip home, how did you deal with transporting the meat? Coolers and ice?
Yeah. We had a lot more of him grunting. Just got cut to match the audio of what I was saying/doing at the time of the best video clips. He was one wound up bull.
@@Fresh_Tracks Tried going to Newfoundland this October for a second chance but it was a total bust. I told myself I would take a year off and maybe go elk hunting in Colorado. I made it about 30 minutes scouting on Google earth and I found I was looking at southeast Alaska.
What a really cool hunt Enjoyed this video If I could pick a once in a lifetime hunt like elk big horn sheep Dalls or something like that I’d pick a moose hunt I think I could handle one like that Great shooting to
What did y’all use for moose marinade? Smelled good through the RUclips video! Lol! Congrats! Beautiful bull! Maybe someday for me! Lol. Thanks for sharing
I’ve got a .410 VERRRRY similar. Got it from my Grandpa when I was 13? It’s a Baikal and I’m pretty sure the local small game population had nightmares about that shotgun for a long time
Randy I'm more impressed with your hunts the more I watch. Nothing short of amazing. Great hunt with great people. Don't get no better than that. Grant should invest in a Sherp if at all possible. There is a RUclipsr called Ostacruiser in Canada that could hook him up with 1. I'm looking forward to your next episode Randy, Marcus, Mike and Crew.
How do you like the Argos now Randy? Aren’t they something else? Absolutely love mine. Love watching your adventures here from northern BC. Your Yukon hunt was fabulous, loved all of it! Congratulations!
Randy's happiness is so contagious.
Good to hear. My wife says that. She claims I am worth keeping around for the smiles. About the only card I have to play, so I better keep smiling.

As someone who grew up in dawson area, it's always funny to me when people talk about dawson creek.
Hunting gone for crap here now.
That guide is at the top of his game, skilled, and honest.
Agree, on all counts.
One of my favourite series you guys have done. Fantastic group, and Grant seems like a top notch guide.

That moose call is incredible. Wish I could bottle that up and use it up here in Alaska ! Lol
It was incredible. I've hunted for almost 50 years and that ranks up there in the Top10 of days afield.

My Uncle Dave gave my son's his single shot .410 recently. Very cool!
Get a big one for me, a fellow Howa toter. Going to Alabama chasing whitetail Monday. Maybe you'll get big hank this time.

Congrats on the moose I seem to have picked up a case of moose fever after my first hunt in 2022 and now I think it's dam near incurable.
Yup, there is no cure for that disease. More moose hunts are known to lessen the affliction for short periods.
