If y’all know about Sharkey’s playing you KNOW he’s being very discipline and a great rhythm player. Great example of not overplaying and letting the front man shine.
His groove is just outstanding, but the thing that really makes my jaw drop is his touch. So subtle. Absolutely love this, I have to try to transcribe what he play here Thanks so much for uploading
That was fricken AWESOME!!! My friend you got some UBER TALENT!!! So SOULFUL! I bow to ou in gratitude cause you can't hear me clapping nor giving you a standing ovation brother!!! THANK. YOU!!! Peace 2 U
Incredible rhythm guitar. Such an underrated skill its bananas. Drummer is killing it, too. Man that snare in the background. Now if we could get the funky drummer beat in the background that'd be greeeeeat...
tbh I'm like 99% sure that's a backing track. he's not playing with a live band. I'm only leaving that 1% because the camera never pans around, but that sounds like a backing track
@@DanielSeriffMusic his usage of semitones outside the pentatonic scale add spice to his playing that im saying i fail to do most the time. Along with his elaborate following of chord changes.
Nick Murphy it might be a workshop or something, especially because there’s a tripod in front of him and mic, he’s also talking about playing with Mayer which is pretty interesting for guitarists.
@@DanielSeriffMusic thanks! I listened the other vids but this I can t. Maybe my cellphone doesn t work. Few days ago I' ve discovered this wonderful guitar player. Have a great day you too, from Argentine!
@@DanielSeriffMusic awesome. Thank you! Been thinking of biting the bullet on one of these for so long. Granted I’ll never be able to make it sound as nice as he does!
He is one of the best in the world but Mayer is his boss and he’s gainfully employed…I don’t think he would try. Interesting opinion. Clearly Mayer saw his great he was and added him to the team…creating an amazing gig and huge exposure for Sharkey.
@@DanielSeriffMusic, Very true!! Lay back, play the changes, and get paid/recognized!! I wish John Mayer incorporated more jazz-influences in his music. Mayer's band members have always been top-knotch!!

Yes, indeed.
Those guitars are having a great conversation
the sheer amount of musicianship that radiates from this man is insane. he's so in the pocket
He is absolutely insane. And also not doing anything particularly “complicated.” A masterclass on the essentials of music.
90% of all the things you need to know as guitarist are in this video
Right?!
98%
except to use a tuner before you play lol

So good! Ibanez
this is a masterclass

Pentatonic scale just aint going to cut it anymore
Hmmm. Care to elaborate?

@@c.kirchhoefer Now I gotcha. Yeah man. I would say all the greats use pentatonics as the basis for their playing and then add tons of fresh stuff on.
Well it’s only a scale after all

Nick Murphy This is at the International Musician Summit. It’s hosted every year in Durham, North Carolina. You should come this year!
Find out where it is and ask the owners if they’ll let you inside. Works most of the time

Yep
Underrated video! What guitar is that? 🎸
Jayden Lawson D’Angelico
It's not D'Angelico. It's his ibanez that has his name on the headstock.
Ibanez for sure
Can someone explain what kind of guitar is that, what other accessories in use
Ibanez Hollowbody. He was plugged directly into a pretty crappy Fender that had seen better days. I was sitting right behind him.
nice title
Thanks for watching.
