I heard people say the Anti Venom symbiote being embedded within Peter’s white spider symbol could allow him to keep the classic red and blue, which I don’t think is a bad idea.
I wish he just kept it in the symbol on his back, and in the next game, whenever he used an attack like antivenom punch, it would emerge from his back to allow it to make more sense
I think it's brilliant for three reasons: 1. It continues the Insomniac trend of using familiar faces in different ways. It doesn't have to be the exact same as other Spider-Man media, and that is one of the reasons why I love this game. 2. It balances Miles and Peter gameplay-wise. Without Anti-Venom, Peter just has the Spider Arms, and as cool as they are, they cannot stack up to Miles' two different types of bioelectricity. Playing Peter would just be dull and boring. 3. It represents Peter's journey through the Symbiote arc. The Anti-Venom Symbiote shows that Peter has finally let go of his suffering after, in the space of a few years, losing Aunt May, his best friend (twice now), saving the city over and over again with no regard for his health, sacrificing his relationships and the trials of Venom upon his soul. It is probably not the best explanation, but I tried. This also gives Insomniac an excuse for Peter to power back up, since his abilities are mainly based on his emotions and stress, finally let go. Personally, I think they should let him keep it. Harry should have his Symbiote cells revived in a similar fashion to Anti-Venom except black so he can be Agent Venom. Additionally, my take on why he was so weak in the game was because of the stress of ten painful years of being Spider-Man with no help but Aunt May, an on-and-off MJ and Harry (who left for a while). Anti-Venom, as explained before, is a culmination of that plus him moving on. Edit: A lot of people wonder why he doesn't give it to Harry. My idea is that the Symbiote is already so bonded to Peter by this point, like Connors said, that removing it would be impossible without killing the host. This was also the case with the ordinary Symbiote and it may well be the case with Anti-Venom.
@@lazy_guy_2525 But that wouldn't make sense from a gameplay perspective. If Peter does come back, having just the iron arms would be kinda wasteful. Letting him keep anti-venom would give us the symbiote abilities back. That's just my opinion anyway
I just wish we could see Peter have more time with the anti venom suit to see him flex his muscles and display more feats because it's said in the game that with the suit his stronger and it deals more damage against the symbiotes but overall I think Pete has and should keep the anti venom symbiote

honestly i think the game could have more content of him practing and figuring it out how BOTH symbiote and antivenom suit works. Peter doesn't even get to understand/explain why he still need his web shooters with symbiote.. more 5 or 6 hours would make a great story @@iVoltexYT
I reckon it should be but the problems are is that cutscenes better not only have the anti venom suit and let us have our own suits. But it makes sense why he's weaker than Milles, he's overextended he is just tired, but it's a good plot device.

I love that he gets to keep it. He constantly makes sacrifices for others with no thanks whatsoever only to be regarded as the problem. In a sense, it's the culmination of all the good things he has done for others.
Honestly I've always wanted a storyline where Peter gets a symbiote suit where he is actually just happy with the Symbiote & it doesn't just ruin his life. It's nice to see Peter get a power up that's permanent that puts him on par with miles. I genuinely hope he keeps the Symbiote. + antivenom is just cool & it's upsetting that he's underutilized in the comics. It's nice that Insomniac gave him purpose outside of just being destroyed because of the narrative needing to go back to the status quo.
Same! I hate how Peter in the comics always tries to see the best in everyone and thing but for symbiotes specifically he's always ready to essentially destroy them even tho it's shown wit the proper person they can be forces for good just not Spider-Man for some reason
Its not like he couldnt remodel the symbiote to mimic is original costume while keeping the anti-symbiote powers ,he also doesnt need web shooter fluid anymore as the symbiote produces it ,its actually awesome for pete.
Pete's anti-venom powers were more earned than miles invisibility and electric powers Edit: i'm not saying it needs to be earned, i'm criticizing the people that don't like anti-venom Pete cause of that. @@disguy3232 Well neither is true. Peter's Spider powers were not the result of uncle Ben dying. It's just the reason he's spider-man. Anti-Venom isn't given to him in exchange for Harry either. He gets both before either dies.
Also the Anti Venom origin making it a full-fledged but purified symbiote is a very fresh and appreciated take on it, remember that Pete was fully covered and taken over by the symbiote when Miles and Lee went into his mind to save him

Dark emotions are 3x stronger and harder to contain so hed need to become like a zen monk to master it vs just no personality and power only. I like that the suit is like a reward almost for all his kindness and good actions in the past. It’s his philosophy of second chances through Martin Li that allows him to get powerful and beat venom so I definitely don’t think it was handed to him
I don't mind either. I would be happy if he kept the Anti Venom suit. But Peter should have some kind of cool abilities otherwise Miles will be more fun and too op. Gotta have balance I think he might give Harry the Anti Venom suit since Harry is in a coma and the chance of him surviving are slim.
He can't give the symbiote to Harry. It isn't like other symbiotes where they are alive and separate entities that need hosts to live. Anti-Venom isn't inteligent and can't separate from the host, as it was born from what was left of Venom inside Peter, and is part of Peter's white blood cells. It's an extension of himself.
@@Shahriyararin63 Pieces of Venom may still be in his body, similar to how Peter was. Or he may just wake up, as that isn't impossible, just that the chances are almost none. Which, typically in stories mean they will wake up in the most dramatic way possible. So he will likely wake up and find out his dad is killing people as the Green Goblin.
His abilities are determined by his stress and emotion. The events leading up to the game - ten years of pain - would probably have had an effect on him, especially during and since the first game. As a result, his powers would have been weaker, but the Anti-Venom Symbiote is a symbol of him moving on from that, as shown by his massive power-up in the Venom fight.

@@jpduval8 Some of us are just that good, like you, obviously. But the cutscene has to follow the narrative, and we cannot forget that Peter was new to his powers and Venom was very much powered up due to the meteorite (I think), and he was very angry, too.
It's a VERY mixed situation. One one hand, classic Peter without fancy abilities is just him at peak. Him having special powers just cheapens it. On the other hand, because Miles also exists, Peter needs something to even the playing field. It's bad enough that Miles has 2 extra abilities, but in Spider-Man 2 he is given MAJOR boost and plot armor for overall no reason (That's the issue with Miles Morales as a whole. He is made to be so OP without any reason other than to make Peter look weak and irrelevant. The other Spider-People even with extra powers don't do this)
When Miles was created obviously that was the idea, to make him “better” by adding extra abilities, this character needs good writing. I like him in spiderverse but nowhere else. He will never replace Peter, insomniac should know that this won’t slide if they think about killing Peter
He has extra abilities but Peter is more skilled and as for him getting a boost in hand the only excuse I can see is his lightning didn’t really affect the symbiotes until his last boost
They gave Miles venom and Invis to make him cool, not to make Peter insignificant (Peter was dead when Miles became spiderman in the original Ultimate comics where he was first iterated) They wanted to make Miles' venom powers OP because they wanted to make Miles Morales more than just a DLC (to further push the point that Miles is just as much spiderman as Peter is) and actually introduce new features. They wanted to show Peter and Miles in the spotlight for the sick Spidey V Spidey battle we get and thats why Peter needed the new powers, its just an oversight, its not "INSOMNIAC HATES PETER THEY NEED HIM TO BE WEAK!!"
I agree with you mostly but peter is ABSOULUTELY not weaker then miles. Miles had to be given venom in the comic books to be on par with normal Spiderman and the fact alone that he was able to hold a roller coaster track while also holding the cart long enough for harry to help him is very impressive.
Peter is definitely way more powerful than Miles in the comics but this isn't the comics. In the universe the game takes place in it's kinda obvious he is weaker than Miles

Let’s not also forget miles got whooped by kraven and Peter had to fight kraven and save miles. Peter is definitely stronger than miles but miles has balance in his life, that’s why miles is able to shine. Peter struggled with many different things in this game such as dealing with the loss of aunt may, slowly losing his best friend, etc. this loss and self doubt made Peter weak in moments where miles had to carry the extra weight. This game gave miles his moments to shine but now Peter has balance in his life + super symbiote powers with no weakness. in terms of dlc with carnage and spider-man 3, miles will need to call big bro out of his retirement to come handle the green goblin and carnage.
I do believe the anti-venom suit should be kept honestly. Other than the “gameplay-wise” aspect of balancing the powers between peter and miles. This gives us a difference between insomniac spidey and the 616/ other variants spideys. Keep in mind, 616 Spidey has this hatred for the symbiotes and we don’t really see a kept symbiote between most spidermen besides gwen. Having this anti-venom is probably our first Symbiote kept Spidey and Anti-Venom especially. (I don’t really consider venomverse since really whoever read that comic line knows what happened)

I think keeping it contradicts the whole point of why he shouldn't have kept the Venom symbiote. Having extra powers doesn't make him a better Spider-Man. It's an extreme cop-out to have Peter struggle with controlling himself against a symbiote to the point that he HAD to let go of the insecurities that it hooked onto, and then receive a new one that conveniently has no personality problems just so it comes across like Peter isn't as strong as Miles without getting an upgrade. Peter has never needed Miles or a symbiote to defeat Venom before. This plotline just makes him look weak on his own, like his experience, strength, and skills aren't enough. Anti-Venom works as a plot device to provide powers to someone who doesn't already have any, like Eddie or Flash, but making it the crutch that Peter needs in order to be relevant is insulting to the character. Peter didn't even do anything to gain it, since it was Miles and Li who unlock it. It's no reward, just another way in which Miles became the hero in the last act and Peter became his sidekick.
Theme wise the point of Anti venom in the story is to show that Peter has made peace with his dark side. Unlike the black suit that put all his repressed thoughts on full display And honestly I love it for that since I truly believe Peter should have made peace with the black suit a long time ago The black suit doesn’t make you evil it’s a symbiote after all. But it does put all your repressed feelings on full display. It knows you better then you know yourself
Pete deserves to keep the Anti-Venom suit. Also they made it clear in the game that they can't actually detach a symbiote easily(which is why Dr Connors wanted to destroy it, the bond was inseparable) Miles and Pete teaming up managed to remove it with immense difficulty, but this Anti-Venom symbiote doesn't even seem to have any of the weaknesses to sound or electricity(it is infused with Miles' electricity too) so there's no plot-wise way they could remove it, nor should they, gameplay-wise and lore-wise it wouldn't even make sense that the biggest hero in Marvel shouldn't get to keep a power-up that makes his job easier and enhances his life
The suits abilities ties towards peters idea of trying to help everyone and anti-venom's healing ability helps peter achieve that in addition to buffing his pre-existing abilities.
I think the game focuses not on Peter being a better Spider-Man because of the anti-venom suit, but more on how much your mental health can change your physically ability, not only did he get the suit, but he was able to move on from aunt mays death, thus becoming a more able Spider-Man
Let my boi Peter keep the anti venom suit. Remember this is insomniac version of Spiderman. They aren't following the comics. They are just using the comics for their story. I mean look at MJ she is a journalist and was Scream. They made Harry Venom and be immune to everything but sound. They killed Aunt May. If that doesn't scream different and not following comics, I don't know what will.
Imo i think pete keeping anti venom n it being his suit from now on is awesome. spidey is my favorite hero n when miles came on the scene it was obvious tht he was stronger than pete power wise i always used peter lifting tht giant metal beam while he was in a underwater base as to say he is stronger than miles but him keeping anti venom makes it clear they r equals now or pete is a little stronger than miles. experience had nothing on miles this entire game im sorry miles handled peter n handled business like a real spiderman while peter was slipping him keeping anti venom is the best for him n i want him to keep it. i think it would be cool to see how this peter with anti venom grows n maybe his kids could get a little piece little mayday venom
Now I have a question, is antivenom connected specifficaly with Piter or with his suit? We could see scenes where he just took off his mask like it was a normal suit so is it really impossible for him to lose it or give it to someone?

I think it's a good explanation in how age can affect anyone's ability. Just talking and jasm biological but age when it comes to... Responsibility. Peter had a lot distracting him during his game and honestly I don't blame him, he lost Aunt May. That crushed him and a whole different kind of way than losing Uncle Ben. Peter tried so hard in the first game and he saved so many people, but he lost the person he cared for the most and you know Peter blames himself for it. Those kind of life changes really can impact the person, I wouldn't be surprised if Peter was going through depression but hiding it because he has to be the friendly neighborhood. Spider-Man. By the end of the game, I think Peter learned how to balance his life with his responsibility that Spider-Man as well as regained his interest in helping others through science. I see Peter being a lot more responsible with the anti-venom suit and he may not even use it all the time, he may find a way to store it and only activate it when it's really needed. I think what we we need to remember is that this is an ongoing story and there's so much more to tell. From a gamer's perspective, I love playing anti-venom in the post game, it's a blast.
In my opinion, Peter SHOULD keep the Anti-Venom suit permanently because it will make the Insomniac version of Peter Parker's Spiderman fresh and unique. By taking it away, it's just going to be a normal Peter Parker we have seen a lot of times. Also, it's not like they are making Peter Parker/Spiderman so different of a character that it's not even recognizable. Even though he has the Anti-Venom symbiote, he's still going to be the Peter Parker we all know and love.

The only thing i dont like about the anti-venom suit is that its never fully explained. He has all the buffs of a symbiote with none of the withdrawal but that yellow glow he would use on the symbiote isnt fully explained other than "symbiotes are weak to it", idk its just really weird and while i like the idea i dont think it was pulled off well especially since we dont know if peter wants to keep the suit or not or if he is keeping it at all. I think it would be cool if peter tries to experiment with his symbiote trying to get it off him safely to try and give to harry later on, but i also like what you said that the suit will help him stand out, all i hope is that in dlc's they flesh out the suit more than symbiote but lobotomized 😂

I don’t think he’s just gonna be Anti-Venom now, but by all means they should keep the symbiote abilities. Since it already had white motifs, I think having the anti symbiote infused with his normal suit could make a cool Advanced 3.0 suit in the next game. I’d much rather him find new ways to use it rather than him just randomly getting rid of it offscreen like it’s an episode of the Simpsons
My only problem with it is that he loses his og colour pallet and a proper Spider-Man suit, now it’s just a white and black Symbiote but I’m sure insomniac knows what there doing so I’m not that put off by it
Tbh what made it worse is the fact that they put so much into the story that they had to rush the anti venom introduction. If they made it's story longer then I would like it more.
The power scaling in this game is awful. Peter seemed much stronger in SM1 compared to SM2. Seems like they really weakened my boy down to make Miles shine a bit, and maybe to emphasis strength gain during the symbiote storyline. You can say Peter has been going through a lot but it still doesn't make up for the fact that this Spidey's an experienced, but still took deliberate hits sometimes even when he could've avoided them easily. Idk if this is relates but they also made Pete a bit less muscular than he was in SM1.
Power scaling only works for anime/manga characters not comic book characters. Peter was “weak” because he was so tired having to balance his double life after all this time and that fatigue was on display during his outings as Spider-Man hence why he chooses to take a bit of a break at the end of the game

I can't wait till NG+ and the additional features requested by the fans hit early 2024!! Being able to change the time of day plus change color of the tendrils is a huge W! I can't wait to use the black symbiote tendrils with the black symbiote rage once again when this update comes out! I absolutely love Marvel's Spiderman 2!
I think it would be amazing if, in a DLC for Spider-Man 2, a villain got access to the anti-venom symbiote. Peter would then have to battle this villain & eventually destroy the symbiote all together.
I just don't want to peter to have the anti venom suit forever because 1.The game developer would have to require to continue with the symbiote abilities through its games series and thier removal won't be good 2.The suit make peter seem to reliant on its powers 3.Harry might need it to heal him

I just hope we can go in a direction where there aren't plot holes. The anti venom suit is basically the symbiote without the weakness. So going forward does that mean Peter now has symbiote level healing factor? I hope they don't nerf his anti venom down essentially
I don't mind it I think it's cool I always used to wish Peter went back to like reconcile with the symbiote in the comics just for one moment. this is kind of something I wouldn't mind it's not really venom but he gets to keep all the symbiot powers and abilities and it keeps him up relatively equal to miles I like it
It would’ve been better if Peter had a role to play in the creation of the Anti-venom suit. Like him cloning a symbiote sample and Mr. Negative and Miles using their powers to break the connection to the hive mind. Upon replay, we don’t see Peter be a good Spider-Man during the game, he gets beat up, taken over, and didn’t provide any solutions.
I respectfully disagree. I feel that the anti venom suit is doing too much and I would have prefered he didnt get it. First I would have honestly prefered the venom fight for Peter to just wear the advanced suit. You know red and blue spiderman vs venom. The white just seems offputting. And combined with the god aful suit miles wears in that fight it doesnt help. It also doesnt help that the game forces those suits onto you at the end and doesnt let you pick your own suit. But the main thing is it kinda feels like a cheat code. The whole thing with the symbiote is that it gives the user great power but changes the wearer and feeds off of negative emotions which is why Peter gets rid of the suit and why Venom exists. Him getting rid of the suit to me represents overcoming addiction its easy to give in to that power because it feels good but its not good for you because it changes your attidude and hurts the people around you. So I think it kinda goes against that just giving him a more powerful version of the suit without any of the side effects. I would prefer him to not have it in the first place but he does so hopefdully he gets rid of it in a potential carnage dlc. Just as long as he gets rid of it before the third game. I get they wanted to let the player have the symbiote abilities even after Peter got rid of it but I would have prefered they just give you the symbiote abilities back after beating the main story and it just not be canon. They give you the symbiote suits back anyway so I dont think the "canon" matters. Plus they dont even let you use the black tendrils.
according to lore when the anti venom suit is worn it will not come off however it does not have many weaknesses as it is immune to high frequency sounds and fire and it does not ever take controll ever which means peter is always in control it will not take control of him like venom did. it can cure any type of disease. however this power comes with consequences as the suit will never ever come off. due to it being fused with his suit/body.
I think he'll have to take off the Anti-Venom suit at some point. This is because he is likely to appear in more Insomniac Universe-related works in the future, and I think the atmosphere of the original Spider-Man will suit him better then. Personally, I think it would be a good idea for him to hand over the Anti-Venom suit to Harry later in the sequel, turning him into Anti-Agent Venom.
Still, I think he'll need to keep the Anti-Venom suit for most of the next game. This is because Peter lacks superpowers compared to Miles and Silk (in the cookie video), so a balance between characters needs to be achieved
I wouldn't be opposed to Peter keeping the anti venom symbiote. Miles and Cindy each have an extra unique feature that gives them a one up to being a regular spider person. The anti venom suit could be a "super form" of sorts for Peter to fight against higher tier threats.

It’s be cool if he combined his red and blue suit with the antivenom suit. That way he keeps the classic Spider-Man look and have the antivenom powers. Idk if anyone agrees but imagine his mask with the antivenom lenses, I think it’d be a cool concept.
Many have suggested something similar to this so heres my interpretation: Like with the last games, Peter gets a "Advanced 3.0" suit. This suit will incorporate Anti Venom in the white parts of the suit, spider symbol, etc. When he uses Symbiote Surge Anti Venom expands from the white parts and forms the Anti Venom suit.
i want him to keep the anti-venom suit cause the powers it gives him helps to balance him and miles out, like miles has standard spider powers plus electricity and camoflauge while peter just has his spider powers and tech that miles also uses too so him having symbiote powers too helps to balance and give distinct uniqueness to their individual abilities spider powers and tech aside.
I'm fine with peter having the anti-venom suit but my only nitpick is that I wish we got more scenes before him getting the suit to show that peter was almost powerless against these symbiotes I think it would have more of a impact that way, but that's just my opinion.
I feel like it's good for Peter to have a bench to fall back on when things get extreme. I wouldn't say he should be rocking the Anti-Venom suit as standard heroing fashion, or turning to its abilities when dealing with a typical mugging, or even against non-powered organized crime... but when the chips are down and the gadgets are not working and he needs to push just that extra inch, it's good for him to have something in the bank to draw upon.
As I remember from the game: Right before Peter got anti-venom suit it is said that symbiote had strong hold of him. And Venom at that point was already back on Harry, so thing that was within Peter was just a piece that's left because of the bond they (Venom and Peter) developed. And if I am not wrong at that point it was not possible to get that part of Venom off Peter because how deep it was, that even him didn't really felt it. So that Venom piece was just 'cleaned' and became anti-venom - symbiote part without hive-mind. Can Peter just move it to someone else (maybe Harry to help him) - we cannot tell for sure. What I am sure - he is not able to do it FOR NOW. Venom was able to change from Harry to Peter because it had a mind and felt a need to change a host. As Anti-Venom is mindless - we don't know if such thing is possible. I think that this suit will be permanently attached to Peter as somebody else said to balance power deficit between him and Miles. Other reason - to see the core of Anti-Venom in the mission Miles and Li had to go quite a few levels deep to Peter's mind, so it is not just lightly attached to him, at this point it is part of Peter that cannot be simply ripped off him, just like Venom couldn't be ripped of Harry in the end - they are already fused.
I think there is a way to satisfy both parties. For the next game, Peter only uses the Anti-Venom suit to save people he cant save without it and never uses it in combat. This is because at some point in the story, the suit either caused colleteral damage which injured civilians because of its immense power or he accidentally severely injured a bunch of goons and paralyzed them for the same reasons. But later on in the story against Goblin, Peter is forced to use the Anti-Venom suit to its full potential, showcasing the suit's full power and we get to play the suit permanently. By this point of the story, Peter realised he can cure anyone with the Anti-Venom suit and truly mastered it. Now for gameplay wise, the first few part of the story the Anti-Venom suit as a "rage mode" mechanic. But later on in the story you can permanently use the suit with new abilities. Now that's my suggestion.
It’s about time peter gets new powers I mean he was still nerfed at the end anyway 🙄 but still he needs something new as miles keeps getting new powers every year it feels like 😂
I see Peter finding a way to give it to Harry tbh, since it seemingly has all the Benefits and no drawbacks like Venom had. So Harry could theoretically come back from both his coma and his sickness
I think people are forgetting that the Venom symbiote cured Peter of death. What happened to Harry's ailment after giving the symbiote to Peter it started coming back. At this point I think having the Anti Venom symbiote is what is keeping Peter alive.
I love the anti venom suit and ALL the symbiote abilities I hope we get to keep them with Peter as well as the spider arms. I feel like people are ungrateful. I love everything they gave us that I don’t want them to get rid of it next game!
I hope he keeps the anti venom symbiote, I always wanted Spider-man to have the anti-venom symbiote in the comics. Him getting it was a literal dream come true for me. It has all the benefits of the venom symbiote with non of the draw backs.
Honestly I love it! I love Insomniac's interpretation of these stories because they're not like anything we've seen before. I don't care that they're not like the movies, shows, or comics, I love them because they are their own story. I wasn't very familiar with Kraven or Mr. negative before these games, and instead of looking them up I let the games tell me their stories and I love them! These games are made by fans for fans, and I trust Insomniac! Now if Peter dies I will be extremely upset and maybe think twice about playing future Spider-Man game, but in the meantime #InInsomniacWeTrust! 😁😁😁❤️💙🕷️🕸️

Funny thing is if y’all think about it… Yeah we can argue that miles might be stronger than Pete. I mean he did beat peter whilst wearing the symbiote suit. But has anyone thought, about that miles knew about the symbiotes weakness and had to use that to his advantage. The way I see it if you take the bell away the very bell that saved us when we’re running low in health away from miles… I’m pretty sure it would’ve ended differently. This game honestly favored miles. They had to show how much he’s grown ever since he took on the mantle.
I think it’s a nice form of symbolism that Peter took the tools of his big baddies (Doc-Ock’s tentacles into spider arms and Venom’s symbiote into anti-venom) and tuned them into tools to use for good.
Peter was mentally unstable and it affected his powers in the first game you could see how he lost power over time and venom made him forgot all about that
I'm sure antivenom can make peter stronger but, apart from that, do you guys think peter's base power is enough to beat all of his problems he had in this game? In fact, in comic, venom said to Eddy that, when it was attached to peter it didn't make peter stronger because peter's power was already strengthened to the fullest by radioactive spider so, this means symbiote spiderman isn't stronger than normal spiderman on the contrary, we can say symbiote spiderman is weaker since he loses his control. and for certain symbiote amplifies power if it is with like normal people but with peter it might be used as his tendril at most, and in a sense using tendril is strong but symbiote won't increase his power. and just out of curiosity, at coneyisland, when Peter and harry and MJ were having fun time, they tried muscle up and pete had a good score in it and harry broke the equipment because he did it too hard, and here's a question if peter did it so hard like the way harry did, were peter gonna break it? and then other question I know peter is always holding back against his enemies, if he ( spider arm)and harry (agent venom) fought each other, if they went full out on each other, which one do you think is gonna win? watching them fight each other is gonna be so sick!
Completely off topic but why isn’t anyone talking about Norman giving harry the symbiote at the start of the game , I feel like that could have a deeper meaning , Mabye some of the symbiote is still inside Norman ..
I think it should’ve been destroyed at the end of the game once he defeats venom he uses it all up. As keeping it makes him way too OP. Especially against goblin in the next game, it’s game over.
Considering that this is insomniacs universe, this Peter Parker is already up there as a memorable spider man. Certain events like losing his aunt, gaining miles as a partner and now with anti venom. It’s leagues above his other iterations of other spider men across the multiverse. Their is however a drawback as well, and it’s clearly doc ock… out of all the villains in this universe he’s the only one who still holds cards in his sleeve.
What I don't gwt about people hating the fact that ani-venom is either peter is the fact that it's made out of his white blood cells with means it ner impossible for him to get rid of it because it is gets damaged or fragments get stolen the could die out,not work with your white blood cells, and peter would just regenerate the lost/damaged peaces.
From a gameplay standpoint it makes sense to get it but from a story standpoint it kinda defeats the narrative idea that Peter and the people around him are enough but Venom is more like a drug that feels like it helps but in fact hurts him and the people around. So when Peter beats Venom without the black suit it shows he will always be a better hero even with his short comings, despite the power he gets from Venom.

I feel like Peter should transform back and forth between his current advanced suit and the Anti Venom suit. For example if Peter is in trouble when fighting some strong bad guys maybe he turns into Anti Venom to get stronger. Kinda like the red and black suits in Spider-Man Web of Shadows
what doesnt make snese to me is that the first day that anti venom was created in the comics he instantly started healing or well trying to basically remove the radiation from spider-man and he almost de-powered him ON DAY 1 like I just dont understand
Funny that you bring up the roller coaster. In spiderman one the observatory gets messed up on the upper left side of the map. In spiderman miles morales the bridge in the upper left corner of the map gets messed up. In spiderman 2 both of these past accidents are still trashed an being worked on by npcs. However, the coney island accident litterly gets fixed in less than a day, in game time. Which doesn't make any sense, at all. I went to coney Island right after it happened to see the destruction an there's none their. Wanna talk about natural progression of the game is nice. But the inconsistencies that are currently present in game don't make sense. Ain't no way possible they fixed the roller coaster an Farris wheel In less than day. An it makes no sense for the game to take its time fixing everything else an not have no explanation as to how or why coney island got fixed as fast as it does. Some things are just weird 😕
If Peter loses the suit he will have to find a new upgrade especially since the flame has his own symbiote which I think is carnage so if Peter loses the suit Peter will need like the arms to get a lot and I mean a lot stronger

IK that Pete was struggling in this game and people have pointed out that its because he worked really hard as spiderman for a decade and couldnt really catch a break, which is why it made sense for him to quit spidermanning for a short time in the end of the game. So I expect him make a full comeback in the third game or DLC with a fresh mind and does not struggle. And for me it made no sense as to why Peter didnt give anti venom to harry after removing venom from him... even if it was bonded on a cellular level, Peter was a scientist, he can figure a way to transfer it to harry.
I’m pretty sure that developers said insomniac Spider-Man is a little different from 616 Spider-Man, so why are people pressed that there are little story changes to this Spider-Man? I really like this little twist in this version of Spider-Man because it makes him unique and also makes Spider-Man related games or content not as repetitive.

I think it's brilliant for three reasons:
1. It continues the Insomniac trend of using familiar faces in different ways. It doesn't have to be the exact same as other Spider-Man media, and that is one of the reasons why I love this game.
2. It balances Miles and Peter gameplay-wise. Without Anti-Venom, Peter just has the Spider Arms, and as cool as they are, they cannot stack up to Miles' two different types of bioelectricity. Playing Peter would just be dull and boring.
3. It represents Peter's journey through the Symbiote arc. The Anti-Venom Symbiote shows that Peter has finally let go of his suffering after, in the space of a few years, losing Aunt May, his best friend (twice now), saving the city over and over again with no regard for his health, sacrificing his relationships and the trials of Venom upon his soul. It is probably not the best explanation, but I tried. This also gives Insomniac an excuse for Peter to power back up, since his abilities are mainly based on his emotions and stress, finally let go.
Personally, I think they should let him keep it. Harry should have his Symbiote cells revived in a similar fashion to Anti-Venom except black so he can be Agent Venom.
Additionally, my take on why he was so weak in the game was because of the stress of ten painful years of being Spider-Man with no help but Aunt May, an on-and-off MJ and Harry (who left for a while). Anti-Venom, as explained before, is a culmination of that plus him moving on.
Edit: A lot of people wonder why he doesn't give it to Harry. My idea is that the Symbiote is already so bonded to Peter by this point, like Connors said, that removing it would be impossible without killing the host. This was also the case with the ordinary Symbiote and it may well be the case with Anti-Venom.

I reckon it should be but the problems are is that cutscenes better not only have the anti venom suit and let us have our own suits. But it makes sense why he's weaker than Milles, he's overextended he is just tired, but it's a good plot device.

Miles has displayed absolutely zero feats that would place him comfortably above Peter.
I love that he gets to keep it. He constantly makes sacrifices for others with no thanks whatsoever only to be regarded as the problem. In a sense, it's the culmination of all the good things he has done for others.
Honestly I've always wanted a storyline where Peter gets a symbiote suit where he is actually just happy with the Symbiote & it doesn't just ruin his life.
It's nice to see Peter get a power up that's permanent that puts him on par with miles. I genuinely hope he keeps the Symbiote.
+ antivenom is just cool & it's upsetting that he's underutilized in the comics. It's nice that Insomniac gave him purpose outside of just being destroyed because of the narrative needing to go back to the status quo.

I like that the suit is like a reward almost for all his kindness and good actions in the past. It’s his philosophy of second chances through Martin Li that allows him to get powerful and beat venom so I definitely don’t think it was handed to him

He can't give the symbiote to Harry. It isn't like other symbiotes where they are alive and separate entities that need hosts to live. Anti-Venom isn't inteligent and can't separate from the host, as it was born from what was left of Venom inside Peter, and is part of Peter's white blood cells. It's an extension of himself.

Which, typically in stories mean they will wake up in the most dramatic way possible. So he will likely wake up and find out his dad is killing people as the Green Goblin.

His abilities are determined by his stress and emotion. The events leading up to the game - ten years of pain - would probably have had an effect on him, especially during and since the first game. As a result, his powers would have been weaker, but the Anti-Venom Symbiote is a symbol of him moving on from that, as shown by his massive power-up in the Venom fight.

It's a VERY mixed situation.
One one hand, classic Peter without fancy abilities is just him at peak. Him having special powers just cheapens it.
On the other hand, because Miles also exists, Peter needs something to even the playing field.
It's bad enough that Miles has 2 extra abilities, but in Spider-Man 2 he is given MAJOR boost and plot armor for overall no reason
(That's the issue with Miles Morales as a whole. He is made to be so OP without any reason other than to make Peter look weak and irrelevant. The other Spider-People even with extra powers don't do this)

When Miles was created obviously that was the idea, to make him “better” by adding extra abilities, this character needs good writing. I like him in spiderverse but nowhere else. He will never replace Peter, insomniac should know that this won’t slide if they think about killing Peter

They gave Miles venom and Invis to make him cool, not to make Peter insignificant (Peter was dead when Miles became spiderman in the original Ultimate comics where he was first iterated) They wanted to make Miles' venom powers OP because they wanted to make Miles Morales more than just a DLC (to further push the point that Miles is just as much spiderman as Peter is) and actually introduce new features. They wanted to show Peter and Miles in the spotlight for the sick Spidey V Spidey battle we get and thats why Peter needed the new powers, its just an oversight, its not "INSOMNIAC HATES PETER THEY NEED HIM TO BE WEAK!!"

I agree with you mostly but peter is ABSOULUTELY not weaker then miles. Miles had to be given venom in the comic books to be on par with normal Spiderman and the fact alone that he was able to hold a roller coaster track while also holding the cart long enough for harry to help him is very impressive.

Peter is definitely stronger than miles but miles has balance in his life, that’s why miles is able to shine. Peter struggled with many different things in this game such as dealing with the loss of aunt may, slowly losing his best friend, etc. this loss and self doubt made Peter weak in moments where miles had to carry the extra weight.
This game gave miles his moments to shine but now Peter has balance in his life + super symbiote powers with no weakness.
in terms of dlc with carnage and spider-man 3, miles will need to call big bro out of his retirement to come handle the green goblin and carnage.
I do believe the anti-venom suit should be kept honestly. Other than the “gameplay-wise” aspect of balancing the powers between peter and miles. This gives us a difference between insomniac spidey and the 616/ other variants spideys. Keep in mind, 616 Spidey has this hatred for the symbiotes and we don’t really see a kept symbiote between most spidermen besides gwen. Having this anti-venom is probably our first Symbiote kept Spidey and Anti-Venom especially. (I don’t really consider venomverse since really whoever read that comic line knows what happened)

Symbiotes have always been a big part of Spider-Man in general so the fact that it’s now literally a part of Peter I feel like is poetic
It also just makes Peter unique and the fact that he has the counter weapon against one of his greatest villains is also a nice touch
First Marvel character to ever wear a symbiot, just for that he deserves to have one without the usual weakness
I think keeping it contradicts the whole point of why he shouldn't have kept the Venom symbiote. Having extra powers doesn't make him a better Spider-Man. It's an extreme cop-out to have Peter struggle with controlling himself against a symbiote to the point that he HAD to let go of the insecurities that it hooked onto, and then receive a new one that conveniently has no personality problems just so it comes across like Peter isn't as strong as Miles without getting an upgrade. Peter has never needed Miles or a symbiote to defeat Venom before. This plotline just makes him look weak on his own, like his experience, strength, and skills aren't enough.
Anti-Venom works as a plot device to provide powers to someone who doesn't already have any, like Eddie or Flash, but making it the crutch that Peter needs in order to be relevant is insulting to the character. Peter didn't even do anything to gain it, since it was Miles and Li who unlock it. It's no reward, just another way in which Miles became the hero in the last act and Peter became his sidekick.
Theme wise the point of Anti venom in the story is to show that Peter has made peace with his dark side. Unlike the black suit that put all his repressed thoughts on full display

Pete deserves to keep the Anti-Venom suit. Also they made it clear in the game that they can't actually detach a symbiote easily(which is why Dr Connors wanted to destroy it, the bond was inseparable) Miles and Pete teaming up managed to remove it with immense difficulty, but this Anti-Venom symbiote doesn't even seem to have any of the weaknesses to sound or electricity(it is infused with Miles' electricity too) so there's no plot-wise way they could remove it, nor should they, gameplay-wise and lore-wise it wouldn't even make sense that the biggest hero in Marvel shouldn't get to keep a power-up that makes his job easier and enhances his life

Gwen in the comics has had a symbyote since the end of her first solo run and it has not caused any issues since.
The suits abilities ties towards peters idea of trying to help everyone and anti-venom's healing ability helps peter achieve that in addition to buffing his pre-existing abilities.

Imo i think pete keeping anti venom n it being his suit from now on is awesome. spidey is my favorite hero n when miles came on the scene it was obvious tht he was stronger than pete power wise i always used peter lifting tht giant metal beam while he was in a underwater base as to say he is stronger than miles but him keeping anti venom makes it clear they r equals now or pete is a little stronger than miles. experience had nothing on miles this entire game im sorry miles handled peter n handled business like a real spiderman while peter was slipping him keeping anti venom is the best for him n i want him to keep it. i think it would be cool to see how this peter with anti venom grows n maybe his kids could get a little piece little mayday venom

I think it's a good explanation in how age can affect anyone's ability. Just talking and jasm biological but age when it comes to... Responsibility. Peter had a lot distracting him during his game and honestly I don't blame him, he lost Aunt May. That crushed him and a whole different kind of way than losing Uncle Ben. Peter tried so hard in the first game and he saved so many people, but he lost the person he cared for the most and you know Peter blames himself for it. Those kind of life changes really can impact the person, I wouldn't be surprised if Peter was going through depression but hiding it because he has to be the friendly neighborhood. Spider-Man. By the end of the game, I think Peter learned how to balance his life with his responsibility that Spider-Man as well as regained his interest in helping others through science. I see Peter being a lot more responsible with the anti-venom suit and he may not even use it all the time, he may find a way to store it and only activate it when it's really needed. I think what we we need to remember is that this is an ongoing story and there's so much more to tell. From a gamer's perspective, I love playing anti-venom in the post game, it's a blast.

In my opinion, Peter SHOULD keep the Anti-Venom suit permanently because it will make the Insomniac version of Peter Parker's Spiderman fresh and unique. By taking it away, it's just going to be a normal Peter Parker we have seen a lot of times. Also, it's not like they are making Peter Parker/Spiderman so different of a character that it's not even recognizable. Even though he has the Anti-Venom symbiote, he's still going to be the Peter Parker we all know and love.

The only thing i dont like about the anti-venom suit is that its never fully explained. He has all the buffs of a symbiote with none of the withdrawal but that yellow glow he would use on the symbiote isnt fully explained other than "symbiotes are weak to it", idk its just really weird and while i like the idea i dont think it was pulled off well especially since we dont know if peter wants to keep the suit or not or if he is keeping it at all. I think it would be cool if peter tries to experiment with his symbiote trying to get it off him safely to try and give to harry later on, but i also like what you said that the suit will help him stand out, all i hope is that in dlc's they flesh out the suit more than symbiote but lobotomized 😂

I don’t think he’s just gonna be Anti-Venom now, but by all means they should keep the symbiote abilities. Since it already had white motifs, I think having the anti symbiote infused with his normal suit could make a cool Advanced 3.0 suit in the next game.

Tbh what made it worse is the fact that they put so much into the story that they had to rush the anti venom introduction. If they made it's story longer then I would like it more.
The power scaling in this game is awful. Peter seemed much stronger in SM1 compared to SM2. Seems like they really weakened my boy down to make Miles shine a bit, and maybe to emphasis strength gain during the symbiote storyline.
You can say Peter has been going through a lot but it still doesn't make up for the fact that this Spidey's an experienced, but still took deliberate hits sometimes even when he could've avoided them easily.
Idk if this is relates but they also made Pete a bit less muscular than he was in SM1.
Power scaling only works for anime/manga characters not comic book characters. Peter was “weak” because he was so tired having to balance his double life after all this time and that fatigue was on display during his outings as Spider-Man hence why he chooses to take a bit of a break at the end of the game

I can't wait till NG+ and the additional features requested by the fans hit early 2024!! Being able to change the time of day plus change color of the tendrils is a huge W! I can't wait to use the black symbiote tendrils with the black symbiote rage once again when this update comes out! I absolutely love Marvel's Spiderman 2!
I think it would be amazing if, in a DLC for Spider-Man 2, a villain got access to the anti-venom symbiote. Peter would then have to battle this villain & eventually destroy the symbiote all together.

It would’ve been better if Peter had a role to play in the creation of the Anti-venom suit. Like him cloning a symbiote sample and Mr. Negative and Miles using their powers to break the connection to the hive mind. Upon replay, we don’t see Peter be a good Spider-Man during the game, he gets beat up, taken over, and didn’t provide any solutions.
I respectfully disagree. I feel that the anti venom suit is doing too much and I would have prefered he didnt get it. First I would have honestly prefered the venom fight for Peter to just wear the advanced suit. You know red and blue spiderman vs venom. The white just seems offputting. And combined with the god aful suit miles wears in that fight it doesnt help. It also doesnt help that the game forces those suits onto you at the end and doesnt let you pick your own suit. But the main thing is it kinda feels like a cheat code. The whole thing with the symbiote is that it gives the user great power but changes the wearer and feeds off of negative emotions which is why Peter gets rid of the suit and why Venom exists. Him getting rid of the suit to me represents overcoming addiction its easy to give in to that power because it feels good but its not good for you because it changes your attidude and hurts the people around you. So I think it kinda goes against that just giving him a more powerful version of the suit without any of the side effects. I would prefer him to not have it in the first place but he does so hopefdully he gets rid of it in a potential carnage dlc. Just as long as he gets rid of it before the third game. I get they wanted to let the player have the symbiote abilities even after Peter got rid of it but I would have prefered they just give you the symbiote abilities back after beating the main story and it just not be canon. They give you the symbiote suits back anyway so I dont think the "canon" matters. Plus they dont even let you use the black tendrils.
Anti venom is not possible to separate from him because once its in its host its there forever and he can heal any known disease
according to lore when the anti venom suit is worn it will not come off however it does not have many weaknesses as it is immune to high frequency sounds and fire and it does not ever take controll ever which means peter is always in control it will not take control of him like venom did. it can cure any type of disease. however this power comes with consequences as the suit will never ever come off. due to it being fused with his suit/body.

I think he'll have to take off the Anti-Venom suit at some point. This is because he is likely to appear in more Insomniac Universe-related works in the future, and I think the atmosphere of the original Spider-Man will suit him better then. Personally, I think it would be a good idea for him to hand over the Anti-Venom suit to Harry later in the sequel, turning him into Anti-Agent Venom.
Still, I think he'll need to keep the Anti-Venom suit for most of the next game. This is because Peter lacks superpowers compared to Miles and Silk (in the cookie video), so a balance between characters needs to be achieved
One of anti venom’s passives is that it always stays connected with its host so it’s impossible to pass it on

I wouldn't be opposed to Peter keeping the anti venom symbiote. Miles and Cindy each have an extra unique feature that gives them a one up to being a regular spider person. The anti venom suit could be a "super form" of sorts for Peter to fight against higher tier threats.

It’s be cool if he combined his red and blue suit with the antivenom suit. That way he keeps the classic Spider-Man look and have the antivenom powers. Idk if anyone agrees but imagine his mask with the antivenom lenses, I think it’d be a cool concept.

Like with the last games, Peter gets a "Advanced 3.0" suit. This suit will incorporate Anti Venom in the white parts of the suit, spider symbol, etc. When he uses Symbiote Surge Anti Venom expands from the white parts and forms the Anti Venom suit.

I love your perspective on the suit. This video really turned around how I felt about him having it going forward.
I'm fine with peter having the anti-venom suit but my only nitpick is that I wish we got more scenes before him getting the suit to show that peter was almost powerless against these symbiotes I think it would have more of a impact that way,
but that's just my opinion.
I feel like it's good for Peter to have a bench to fall back on when things get extreme. I wouldn't say he should be rocking the Anti-Venom suit as standard heroing fashion, or turning to its abilities when dealing with a typical mugging, or even against non-powered organized crime... but when the chips are down and the gadgets are not working and he needs to push just that extra inch, it's good for him to have something in the bank to draw upon.
As I remember from the game:
Right before Peter got anti-venom suit it is said that symbiote had strong hold of him. And Venom at that point was already back on Harry, so thing that was within Peter was just a piece that's left because of the bond they (Venom and Peter) developed. And if I am not wrong at that point it was not possible to get that part of Venom off Peter because how deep it was, that even him didn't really felt it. So that Venom piece was just 'cleaned' and became anti-venom - symbiote part without hive-mind.
Can Peter just move it to someone else (maybe Harry to help him) - we cannot tell for sure. What I am sure - he is not able to do it FOR NOW. Venom was able to change from Harry to Peter because it had a mind and felt a need to change a host. As Anti-Venom is mindless - we don't know if such thing is possible.
I think that this suit will be permanently attached to Peter as somebody else said to balance power deficit between him and Miles. Other reason - to see the core of Anti-Venom in the mission Miles and Li had to go quite a few levels deep to Peter's mind, so it is not just lightly attached to him, at this point it is part of Peter that cannot be simply ripped off him, just like Venom couldn't be ripped of Harry in the end - they are already fused.
I think there is a way to satisfy both parties. For the next game, Peter only uses the Anti-Venom suit to save people he cant save without it and never uses it in combat. This is because at some point in the story, the suit either caused colleteral damage which injured civilians because of its immense power or he accidentally severely injured a bunch of goons and paralyzed them for the same reasons. But later on in the story against Goblin, Peter is forced to use the Anti-Venom suit to its full potential, showcasing the suit's full power and we get to play the suit permanently. By this point of the story, Peter realised he can cure anyone with the Anti-Venom suit and truly mastered it. Now for gameplay wise, the first few part of the story the Anti-Venom suit as a "rage mode" mechanic. But later on in the story you can permanently use the suit with new abilities. Now that's my suggestion.

I think people are forgetting that the Venom symbiote cured Peter of death. What happened to Harry's ailment after giving the symbiote to Peter it started coming back. At this point I think having the Anti Venom symbiote is what is keeping Peter alive.
I love the anti venom suit and ALL the symbiote abilities I hope we get to keep them with Peter as well as the spider arms. I feel like people are ungrateful. I love everything they gave us that I don’t want them to get rid of it next game!
I hope he keeps the anti venom symbiote, I always wanted Spider-man to have the anti-venom symbiote in the comics. Him getting it was a literal dream come true for me. It has all the benefits of the venom symbiote with non of the draw backs.
Honestly I love it! I love Insomniac's interpretation of these stories because they're not like anything we've seen before. I don't care that they're not like the movies, shows, or comics, I love them because they are their own story. I wasn't very familiar with Kraven or Mr. negative before these games, and instead of looking them up I let the games tell me their stories and I love them! These games are made by fans for fans, and I trust Insomniac! Now if Peter dies I will be extremely upset and maybe think twice about playing future Spider-Man game, but in the meantime #InInsomniacWeTrust! 😁😁😁❤️💙🕷️🕸️

Funny thing is if y’all think about it… Yeah we can argue that miles might be stronger than Pete. I mean he did beat peter whilst wearing the symbiote suit. But has anyone thought, about that miles knew about the symbiotes weakness and had to use that to his advantage. The way I see it if you take the bell away the very bell that saved us when we’re running low in health away from miles… I’m pretty sure it would’ve ended differently. This game honestly favored miles. They had to show how much he’s grown ever since he took on the mantle.
Theory: in the prologue of spider-man 3, either doc oc or norman would create some kind of weapon that would get rid of anti-venom suit.

I think it’s a nice form of symbolism that Peter took the tools of his big baddies (Doc-Ock’s tentacles into spider arms and Venom’s symbiote into anti-venom) and tuned them into tools to use for good.
Peter was mentally unstable and it affected his powers in the first game you could see how he lost power over time and venom made him forgot all about that

In fact, in comic, venom said to Eddy that, when it was attached to peter it didn't make peter stronger because peter's power was already strengthened to the fullest by radioactive spider so, this means symbiote spiderman isn't stronger than normal spiderman on the contrary, we can say symbiote spiderman is weaker since he loses his control.
and for certain symbiote amplifies power if it is with like normal people but with peter it might be used as his tendril at most, and in a sense using tendril is strong but symbiote won't increase his power.
and just out of curiosity, at coneyisland, when Peter and harry and MJ were having fun time, they tried muscle up and pete had a good score in it and harry broke the equipment because he did it too hard, and here's a question if peter did it so hard like the way harry did, were peter gonna break it? and then other question I know peter is always holding back against his enemies, if he ( spider arm)and harry (agent venom) fought each other, if they went full out on each other, which one do you think is gonna win?

Considering that this is insomniacs universe, this Peter Parker is already up there as a memorable spider man. Certain events like losing his aunt, gaining miles as a partner and now with anti venom. It’s leagues above his other iterations of other spider men across the multiverse. Their is however a drawback as well, and it’s clearly doc ock… out of all the villains in this universe he’s the only one who still holds cards in his sleeve.
What I don't gwt about people hating the fact that ani-venom is either peter is the fact that it's made out of his white blood cells with means it ner impossible for him to get rid of it because it is gets damaged or fragments get stolen the could die out,not work with your white blood cells, and peter would just regenerate the lost/damaged peaces.
From a gameplay standpoint it makes sense to get it but from a story standpoint it kinda defeats the narrative idea that Peter and the people around him are enough but Venom is more like a drug that feels like it helps but in fact hurts him and the people around. So when Peter beats Venom without the black suit it shows he will always be a better hero even with his short comings, despite the power he gets from Venom.

In spiderman one the observatory gets messed up on the upper left side of the map.
In spiderman miles morales the bridge in the upper left corner of the map gets messed up.
In spiderman 2 both of these past accidents are still trashed an being worked on by npcs.
However, the coney island accident litterly gets fixed in less than a day, in game time.

IK that Pete was struggling in this game and people have pointed out that its because he worked really hard as spiderman for a decade and couldnt really catch a break, which is why it made sense for him to quit spidermanning for a short time in the end of the game. So I expect him make a full comeback in the third game or DLC with a fresh mind and does not struggle.
And for me it made no sense as to why Peter didnt give anti venom to harry after removing venom from him... even if it was bonded on a cellular level, Peter was a scientist, he can figure a way to transfer it to harry.
I’m pretty sure that developers said insomniac Spider-Man is a little different from 616 Spider-Man, so why are people pressed that there are little story changes to this Spider-Man? I really like this little twist in this version of Spider-Man because it makes him unique and also makes Spider-Man related games or content not as repetitive.
