The Quiet Desolation of Denver International Airport - May 2020

- The Denver International Airport is very quiet as traffic is down nearly 90% in recent months. The world is certainly different now and this once busy airport is like others worldwide in it's reduced activity and flights. United Airlines has parked many aircraft on the closed runway 26, and other taxiways. Frontier Airlines has mostly parked all but their A320neo's.
Someday, slowly, the people and traffic will return.
The major carriers in May 2020 are; United, Southwest, Skywest, Frontier, American and Delta The airport is about 18 miles (29 km) northeast of downtown Denver.

It's a strange sight that many planes are parked side by side on the ground, isn't it?
A once in a lifetime event,,,,, hopefully.
It's been depressing out there the past two months. Although the past couple weeks the number of planes parked on RWY 8/26 has been slowly decreasing and just got word today that the city is expecting a slight uptick in the number of flights in June so all the planes on RWY 8/26 will be moved and the runway will be back open on June 1st. Small victories!
Sounds hopeful! I know there will be a come back, just hope it’s sooner than later.
Wow, never thought I'd see something like that at Denver. When was this filmed? I'm planning on heading out to capture the planes grounded on the tarmac, if they're still there.
