I've got to disagree with Yang on this one, nothing is 100% secure in the digital world. For example quantum computers are predicted to be able to decrypt the strongest encryption we have today in 2030s, this would mean any man in the middle attacks that capture your vote going over the internet can see your vote and details. Imo it's a slippery slope that will eventually be exploited by the elites. Paper voting can also be exploited but it's much harder to do on a grand scale.
I think voting in an election this could take a while to achieve but it could work for local government. It would be more like real time polling. There is less risk involved there and would allow these types of systems to be testing in the real world.
I like the idea on paper (heh) but there is a zero percent chance this passes rigorous red testing to the degree it merits by any teams worth their salt.
@@AquarianSoulTimeTraveler basically security testing. The red team basically tries to find every way possible to compromise the system. To pass that with a phone would be incredibly difficult. I would love to see it worked on though. It could be great for local governments. Basically create a direct democracy system where people can vote on decisions that city council is making. Even at a state level it could work so there could be accurate and real time polling. You'd just need everyone involved to be aware that at first there could be issues

We should be able to vote by phone just like American Idol. We should each get a 4 hour window to vote. The window is not the same time on the clock for everyone. You define your own window. Your first vote will open your window. For the next 4 hours you can keep voting as many times as you feel necessary, depending on your passion for the candidate. At 9 pm election day all windows will close and no new windows will open. Then we tally the votes. If we find the Democrat candidate losing in certain strategically selected locations then we will allow new windows to open at midnight and allow votes only for Democrat candidate until we are caught up and gone past the Republican candidate by more than 0.5 percentage points. Easy and efficient.
Listen encryption is totally broken... All microchip producers at the exact same time in the exact same year all started to put in secondary microchips to control the primary microchips these have no security features and you can enter through the hardware through this back door and once you've made it into the device you can internally crack the encryption and therefore encryption is worthless... The only way to make this work is to have it on blockchain and let everyone know who you voted for... It needs to be completely open they need to know who you voted for or what you voted for... This is the only way to make it work.
The best way to do voting securely is just to have it on blockchain... The problem with this is that people will know exactly what you voted for but I don't think that voting should be private anyways...
