Always love seeing two people I admire independently meet up to be admirable together :). Enjoyed the discussion.

You said it, so I don't have to. When I clicked on, I thought, "oh an hour long...." but I was really gripped, mostly by the humanity of it. Very hard to do real systematic good in this broken world. Most 'charity' is seemingly about corporations doing CSR giving, NGOs upping their impact reports in slick ways, consumer and consumption led efforts. I really hope new ways of thinking will win through.

Politicians, journalists, commentators, and thinktanks need to stop looking at the UK and US for examples of successful governance and look elsewhere. Privatisation of monopolies has failed, the large-scale use of consulting firms has been wasteful, and an overfocus on London (in the case of the UK) has failed Britain for the last 40 years.

This guy is smart but he is definitely a politician. About the most establishment person imaginable.

Yes smart and establishment centred, it's hugely reassuring to voters and its what split him from the radicals in Rory's party
