Fun fact : in comics the hughie character was based and drawn keeping in mind of simon pegg and his roles in movies , so the producers hired simon pegg as hugies dad in this series as a tribute.
Simon Pegg would have been amazing as Hughie when he was young

And yeah he could just be someone younger who looks older however he definitely looks older kind of like Simon Pegg did whatever age he was during Shaun of the Dead.

Fun fact (if you didn't know): the character of Hughie was drawn in the comics to look like Simon Pegg with the thought to have him play the part back when it was created. They didn't get around to creating a show around the comic for quite a while though. So having him play Hughie's dad was a great easter egg.

Invincible is even more amazing. But boys is the second best show on prime for me after Invincible.

I love this show and I think I've rewatched the entire series every time a new season is about to start. It's cool seeing the old intro to the videos.

Well, the boys was probably my best memorable show in 2019 and 2020 both seasons. Better than any other more impactful than any other show released after 2019.

Carl Urban was one of MC in Half-Human series, its a bit sad that show is ended prematurely but u can check one complete season of it, its kinda fun
Interestingly, the writer of the series envisioned Simon Pegg to play the role of Hughie when he wrote the original comics. The original character design was so similar to him, that's why they cast him as Hughie's dad as an homage to that
