Thats how it was for me. I watched it purely because of Karl Urban and because I watched everything on Netflix already and didnt want to start The Office over again. 3 Days later...best show of the year.
Agreed! My colleague mentioned it was coming out, and I usually trust his recommendations-after he mentioned it, I kept seeing it advertised everywhere and knew I had to start it...so happy that I did!
J.M I only saw a few photos of the show and the pictures and I knew that the heroes aren’t really all that heroic. It really made the show much more enjoyable.

Joe G Doesn’t matter, Homelander instead of bringing them into custody, straight out murders them. That just makes him just as bad and evil as them! Now think about that, and even the show is portraying a dark side of superheroes if they don’t care about anyone but themselves and have almost no emotions

Caped Baldy bright Burn had such potential. I was hoping to see something where hormones of puberty plus super powers corrupted an otherwise decent boy, but it seemed like a switch was just flipped in his head by the ship to initiate his mission to destroy humanity instead.

I really love Hughie! Did you guys know he is the son of Dennis Quaid and Meg Ryan?!?! he's got a bright future in acting for sure! Really enjoy watching his character!
His face is so weird to look at when you know that, his face is an absolute hybrid of those two actors
I’m 6 episodes into this and it’s pretty damn good .
The writing is good but the cast elevates it , especially Karl Urban and Anthony Starr (Homelander).
It’s got some nice satire and dark humor aswell but I love how they humanize almost every character , even assholes like The Deep and A Train.
I'm glad they went away a bit from the comic...

Plus I wouldn't mind a little bit less of a blurry lined take either.. And everyone biting it because of you know who... Its like the MCU.. Some things ripped right from the page like Simon Pegg... Only he's Hughie's dad rather than Hughie or the laser baby... Some things changed for a new story.
Honestly, in the hands the show is in, I'm not the least bit worried. Kripke, Rogen and... forgot the third guy who always works with Seth... They're doing a solid job so far.
Plus I'm kinda glad the Seven didn't run a train on Starlight either... That would've been a bit much.
@@cctomcat321 I'd recommend editing the BN thing because it risks spoiling stuff for those who can put 2 and 2 together or have a keen eye.
To your point, I do agree with everything you said though I wouldn't mind if they just had decided to follow the comics to the letter either. As long as it does the comics justice that's good enough for me.
Thing is, with that ending I only see 3 options:
-they go completely off book taking the plot in a whole different direction
-It was a dream sequence
-they try to follow the comics plot even though major players just lost their main motivation
To be clear I'm not saying I expect them to fuck it up, I guess my point is I'm not sold on the implications of those last 10 minutes yet
To me The Seven analogies to the Justice League were:
Homelander = Superman
Queen Maeve = Wonder Woman
Black Noir = Batman
A-Train = The Flash
The Deep = Aquaman
Translucent = Mars Manhunter
Starlight = Starfire
Lamplighter = Green Lantern
I mean, Translucent's powers are immensely different from Martian Manhunters. Other than that, I agree.
@@Hunterfalke yea but since Translucent replaced Jack from Jupiter in the comics I figured to just stay consistent. Besides they both Manhunter and Translucent can turn invisible and also claim to read people so close enough lol

Just finished the season last night, what bonkers final 10 minutes!!
True. That said, while I personally don't care about most of the changes they've made, some I even like, I'm on the fence about the implications of those final 10 minutes. If it isn't a dream sequence it means a huge departure from the comics
I read the comics long ago but from what I recall that ending means comic book fans are just as clueless as people who just discovered the show. One thing does piss me off though, WHERE THE FUCK IS TERROR? He better not be dead

I love the synchronized jaw-drop when The Deep did his thing there with Starlight! LOL at the big surprise. Also this show is great and Blindwave will love it. Def one of the best TV shows out this year.
I just started this show and it's sooo good, so I'm really excited you guys are watching and reacting! I think it's interesting that you said you wanted to know Butcher's backstory. It makes me think that in this superhero show we're more interested in knowing the backstories of the Boys than of the superheroes, which is another part of what makes this universe so interesting.
I love how perfectly timed it was that robin got ran through just as shane looked away.

Having read the comic for this, I can't wait to see both how it's adapted and how Blind Wave reacts to it.
As one who hasn't read the comics but enjoyed the series, I'm curious to know how you enjoyed it. I understand they changed a few things and really made it their own show, which I assumed to be a good thing.
@@AngryPieMan In my opinion, the show's better. The comic's not bad but it's excessively dark, convoluted, and gruesome at times. I know it's meant to be that type of comic but it's a bit too much. In the show, they've really also streamlined the plot well without losing the darker elements and balanced character "screentime" and powers better than the comic.
Neat! Good to know. I really enjoyed the show. So it's nice to know it didn't dishonor it's source material.
@@AngryPieMan I agree, I think the show is an improvement on the comic, the comic felt overly gratuitous, the show manages to have plenty of graphic and explicit content without being ridiculously over the top in a bad way. I also think the characters overall are handled and developed better in the show.

I love these men!!! They get me through the slow parts of my week. If they continue to watch DC Universe on Thursday’s(Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing, Titans 2) and now add The Boys on Fridays, I will be set for Blind Wave reactions on Monday’s(Breaking Bad), Thursday’s, AND Friday’s for the next 2 months atleast!!! This is fucking awesome!!! I hope they watch Watchmen on HBO and The Witcher on Netflix.

Maybe the most realistic superhero show, as in : the most connected to all the problems in our modern day society.
And to me, probably the best superhero show ever done, to this day.

Just finished it and the mindfuck twists are so good.
It was so weird watching a show that utilized the entire hour. Usually, shows are 40 minutes with 20 minutes for commercials.
