- As a woman over 50 I want to use foundation that's infused with skincare benefits. Today I am sharing how I am using the Iris & Romeo Best Skin Days Foundation. They offer 12 shades and I chose shade 5.

I’m 74 and regularly, always to my surprise, receive comments on my beautiful skin. There’s a great deal of skin care done to help and hydrate my skin, but the best finishing touch I’ve found is L’Oreal Infallible. This might be a foundation youkd like to review. It’s inexpensive and available many places. Thank you for your channel. We need all the tips and tricks we can learn.

I've been trying to get away from full coverage. Like you, I almost always self tan and that really helps. I love that its a cream! Im currently loving Covergirl simply ageless skin perfecting tint. Its a dupe for the Chanel with the watery beads. I like it. Its pretty sheer..😊

I have found, as we get older, we need a lighter formula foundation, and use BB creams much more often, serum type foundation in the heat of summer, and the regular foundation mixed with a little skin moisturiser in winter. I have found we need to use a lighter coloured concealer under the eye to give a little brightness now, you need it to light up the face more than anything 😉

It's by Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez. It's basically my everyday concealer. It's so light and fresh feeling. @@darliaugalde Have you tried the Missha M Perfect Cover BB cream? It has excellent SPF and nice coverage without being heavy at all. In fact I can apply it on my way to work by rubbing it in like moisturizer and still end up looking presentable. And I have mature skin with all the texture and discoloration that implies. Lol.

Fingers are good to put on but for mature skin; but smoothing it out with damp blender sponge will give you a smoother finish. Plus you not pulling n tugging your skin. You will see a difference.
Try the Milan cream blush.

Great advice, but no need to ditch your full cover foundation. Just add moisturiser and hey presto, you have a sheer coverage foundation.

Hi, it looks very nice on you the foundation. I personally am not a big foundation fan. I do love skin tints with SPF. I love Universal tinted moisturizer SPF 46 by DRMTLGY and I also love Saie slip tint SPF 35. They give such a nice glow, especially the universal tinted moisturizer.

Hi Darlia. I'm 70 and I know I need to find a lighter foundation more of a tinted moisturiser, arriving tomorrow is a Nars tinted moisturiser and a Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser so fingers crossed they will be a good look, by the way you looked so good with the products

I use a tinted sunscreen Elta or Dr. Jarrt (Jarrt smells a little like sunscreen but dissipates quickly) with a drop of Estee Lauder double wear. It just adds a tiny bit of coverage but just a drop NOT a pump. (I bought a pump for the bottle)

Hi Darlia The foundation you used looks so smooth and flattering! Where do you shop? I'm 66 and have never worn a lot of makeup so very inexperienced so your tips are great. I watched the lipstick video and I wanted to jump in the car and go shopping. I have bought a couple merit product online and have fair skin so just guessed at the color, not the best idea but Its not bad. Some guy named Dave lol told me about your channel and I know I'll find this vey helpful.

If you have the right match for your skin tone there should not be a line of demarcation. I hear a lot of great things about MERIT Beauty. I’m 55, so very interested in this topic. I’ve never been a big foundation person because I always had great skin. Also, just don’t like wearing a lot on my skin. Im into skincare and try to keep my skin looking good, but I do have some redness now and slight discoloration. I know they target a younger demographic, but I love to use Glossier’s Stretch Concealer to even my skin out. It’s light coverage and very moisturizing. I’d be curious to see what else you might test out. This one had amazing results!

I'm super excited about the new treatment/skincare foundations that are available. The next one is definitely a favorite and I cannot wait for you to watch and see what you think. You absolutely can get away with sheer/light coverage foundation that will help even out your skin. When using a sheer coverage after your first application if you are not satisfied then go ahead and apply a dab more where you feel you want it. Take care, Darlia

Thanks for the vid! I just turned 60, have dry skin. I am using Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Foundation which I apply with a damp sponge - gives really natural coverage. Lancome concealer under the eyes. And Jones Road Miracle Balm in Miami Beach for blush.
Also I start with a Smashbox primer. Game changer. Some kind of nude creamy lipstick.I don't do eye make up, just some foundation on the lids. The whole thing takes about 1 minute. Once I have finished my foundation I am going to try Jones Road What the Foundation. Although your Iris and Romeo looks great - a similar formulation to WTF maybe...

@donohoe0 I’ve watched a lot of videos on RUclips about Jones Road Miracle Balm. Many claimed that it moves around on the face -that is it doesn’t set like most foundations do. It seems it is mostly a tinted moisturizer rather than foundation and reviewers are probably applying too much product. I love to watch Hot and Flashy sometimes but her video on JR MB was laughable. She slathered her face with it and then complained about it when she clearly used way too much. What I gather is that it is best for very dry skin and not recommended for hot humid Summers. I had wanted to try it but I have combination skin and live in the Deep South so it’s probably not the product for me.

Not all foundations are going to work in hot/humid climates on combination skin. I always check with clients as to what their preference is on texture. The foundation you used looks pretty and natural looking. Did it wear well over 8-10 hrs? …or settle in wrinkles or transfer? How did it look in different lighting conditions? I’d love to know more about it. I’m still exploring foundations for my combination skin , 63yr old face. I’m using either LaRoche-Posay Athelios tinted mineral spf 50 or Drmtlgy Universal tinted moisturizer spf 46 over a light moisturizer (usually over an always changing serum and Cereve PM facial moisturizing lotion). The foundations I’ve been using on top of that very sparingly whatever I use and often mixed with a bit of the above moisturizer to thin it out are Revlon Illuminance skin-caring foundation or L’Oréal Age Perfect 4 in 1 tinted balm (I mix Fair #10 with Medium #20 to get whatever color tone I need based on time of the year and self-tan etc). I may go over areas that need a bit more coverage with Covergirl+ Olay Simply Ageless (cream type in a jar)foundation. I loved my Lancome Maquicomplet concealer in Clair II but this line has been discontinued and I’ve not had a chance to look for another comparable. I’ve never used concealer for under eye. I never could get the look I wanted so I just don’t use it for that purpose. I would like to use something to improve the look of my under eye but like you, I don’t do “cakey-fakey” mask looking makeup. I’d rather wear no makeup at all than to have a fake mask looking made-up face. (Nor do I ever use a filter on social media. I did that for a short time years ago before I had to come to grips with my age and let that sh** go!😄)

I guess aging and coming to grips is a good thing❤ You have to try Rare Beauty Positive Light Under Eye Brightener. It is the most natural concealer....she refers to it as a lightweight liquid that brightens, hydrates, and awaken your eye area. When I read that I knew that it would not be like a traditional concealer. I use it all the time. I think you would love it!! I really like the Romeo & Iris foundation. It did not crease or settle into fine lines. I would say it lasted all day. Can you tell me your tope 3 benefits you look for in a foundation? What texture are you most comfortable with? The foundation does look really beautiful on you. I kind of rotate foundations, but my all-time favorite is the Face Atelier Ultra Foundation. It's the most skin-like foundation I have ever tried and it works well for mature skin.

I'm trying a Loreal foundation for mature skin. I don't like none of it anymore. I have large pores and wrinkles under my eyes. I'm just very disgusted with all of it, drugstore and high end. I did find a concealer I like, so far. It's a RMS concealer. I have purple discoloration on my face and I feel like I need a full coverage but it sinks into lines and pores. Ugh!!
Hello Kim❤ I want to help you!! It sounds like you are frustrated and I understand. Tell me a little more so I can recommend some products. What is your skin type? What skincare are you using before applying makeup? Have you ever used a green color corrector before applying foundation? I promise you we can find you the right foundation!! I never purchase a foundation on the spot....I always request a sample to go home and try it in daylight. There is no way in store lighting can you find your perfect match. Hello!! I have a suggestion!! You can walk into Sephora, Ulta, and any department store and they will color match you at no cost as well as give you a sample to try at home. I recommend trying two shades from the same foundation. I'm going to request one that looks like the best match in store and one that is one shade darker as I like to self tan. You absolutely cannot buy a foundation in the store as the lighting is not accurate. Take it home and try it on close to a window so you can view it in natural daylight. I hope this helps!! Nope, sorry need coverage… just dilute the full coverage foundation or apply with damp sponge. It looks good on you but would not work for me.
