It’s either the fault of the players or the developers.
50/50
The new alone in the dark is pretty decent it’s not amazing but still the best version they have released
It's the only one they put out the others where done by Atari this one was by thq and the first two games where good
I can’t really comment on it being I don’t have it yet although I did play the demo in full.. And I really liked it.. I dunno maybe Capcom has a monopoly on the genre at this time
Overwatch 2 hurts the most, was really looking forward to that alleged story mode :/
But hey it’s in a good state and but fortunately they try to copy the fortnite formula
@@kevingame3198do you mean the industry-wide use of the battlepass and cosmetic systems?
@@JakeSummers yes that’s the one
Why deny us story mode?
@@cameronmcewen9666 because there's more long term engagement and revenue to be made by focusing on PVP instead
Saints Row reboot was sadly such a disaster that it probably killed the series.
Not only did Saints Row (2022) killed the series, but also the developer behind the series, Volition, due to the reception of the 2022 reboot.
That Reboot was just.... sad ! It felt like and old Has been thinking they're still "It"
I’ve to this day never played one
@@Historicutuberjust play the first 3, maybe the fourth one if you’re curious. Don’t bother with both Agents of Mayhem and the reboot.
@@Historicutuber well don't play the reboot, just the other games.
How did Marvel's Avengers get a second chance? That one seems glaringly out of place on this list.
It def was out of place & just seems like personal hate
Tony Hawk 5 which failed miserably.
And then there was the marvellous THPS 1+2 that almost attempted to save the franchise only for Activision to mess it up by merging Vicarious Visions to Blizzard Entertainment as Blizzard Albany and then focus more on Call of Duty!
A really nice stupid move you made there Activision!
Yeesh! Another reason why Crock of Shitty needs to die that series has been long been above and beyond has overstayed its own welcome and the reason why the series kept on going is because people kept buying them! The best way to kill the franchise is to not buy the games boycott it and vote with your wallets.
Medal of Honor 2010 was severly underrated.
I loved it not many games where you fight in the war on terrorism
I'd say MultiVersus is worthy of being on this list, because the beta was nice to play, but when the "finished" version came recently, it's even less playable and more grindy than before. And as a big fan of Warner Bros. properties and seeing them come together in a Smash-esque fighting game, I am very disappointed with the results.
What about the results disappoints you?
@@cameronmcewen9666 Uh, the fact that the game keeps crashing and/or disconnecting, the sheer increase in microtransactions, the long progression system, the changes in how perks work, and not exactly a fan of the new UI.
Biggest reason: “smash killer”
I'd still prefer it over Smash Ultimate. Smash Ultimate is overrated AF.
@@maxkliegl1951L take
Medal of Honor: Warfighter came out in 2012 after Medal of Honor (2010) and Warfighter was really good.
For Saints Row, I think most people wanted something along the lines of a Saints Row 2 1/2. Something that wasn't as OTT as "The Third", and a little less serious than SR2.
In my opinion it's Saints Row 2022. Even tho the lastest Saints Row game was Gat Out of Hell from 2015. In 2021 many were hyped by seeing a graffiti post but unfortunately Saints Row 2022 came out as unfinished with some cringe jokes
Idk if Overwatch 2 failed, but it definitely didn't reach expectations
From what I heard. Phil Spencer mentioned the idea of having one single Guitar Hero game and just adding content packs to it kind like Beat saber so all you need to do is buy the controller. Honestly, I think that would work very well for the series. Just have one game with music added to it every now and then.
You forgot how Blizzard "said" Overwatch 2 would have a story mode, campaign, w/e
Did they deliver? Nope, all we got was the SAME thing with some new characters...
They ban accounts and deny us story modes.
Avengers didn’t just disappoint me, the devs thought making it a live service was a good idea. Then the mcu skins coming in late turned a lot of players from the game.
Servers unplugged? Um no. It's still playable. It was removed from sale in September 2023.
You can’t force gamers to buy games especially with game pass these days
completely shutting down the entirety of overwatch 1 to force players over to the sequel was such a dick move, especially considering that game also a had a physical release so people are now left with what is effectively a fancy coaster. It’s not as bad as ubisoft pulling the crew from people’s accounts but still pretty awful
I think star fox zero deserves a spot here. After the highly polarizing star fox command the series went dormant for a decade, and then it had the golden opportunity of starting over again with a reboot that would have been a clean slate but it fell completely on it's face, and it's been almost a decade since and the series is dormant once more, and it's always incredibly difficult for a series to recover after a failed attempt at a reboot.
Both the reboot Medal of Honor games were severely underrated. Better than any recent Cod that’s for sure.
The thing about alone in the dark is that everyone thinks it was good as one point, but it in fact has never once been good. People are just like "alone in the dark is old and i know its name so it must be like good! It came out before resident evil!"
Where Overwatch 2 dropped the ball, Among Us learned from it. They were working on a sequel, but upon seeing the attention Among Us was getting, they canned the sequel and focused on keeping up a stream of maps and game modes. A rare lesson in devs learning from others' mistakes.
Nah the avengers take wasn’t a good one. The story was actually good they just didn’t give us enough to do consistently
I thought Alone in the Dark was pretty decent. My biggest problem was that it was delayed twice and still released with a lot of bugs and kept crashing on me.
Actually, the Medal of Honor of 2010 I have fond memories of for the campaign. It was good.
I think a well known phrase about making a mess in a sleeping location best describes what happened with that game that killed Saints Row
I miss Battleborn. I loved that game more than Overwatch because it had all the great things a FPS had! It had a story mode, multiplayer with bots, characters that were likable and a great combination of FPS and MOBA. Just sucks that it had no offline support. Hopefully since Gearbox brought back Gigantic, they can bring back Battleborn!
Alone in the Dark isn't that bad. I think it wasn't marketed enough.
Alone in the Dark 2024 is not that bad of a game.
Sure, it has some technical issues, but it’s way way WAY BETTER than what we got in 2008 and 2015.
I’m still mad about the 2008 version, despite getting all the trophies for it on PS3. It had loads of potential but just completely butchered it. Having two different endings that were both trash didn’t help either.
Top 10 Luigi’s mansion boss fights
I will never understand these companies closing or getting rid of their old games and going all in on the new ones coming out only to have them crash and burn. (Looking at you gta demaster and overwatch
Sounds like you did this before in another video game failure, i can’t remember.
10:54 that being said it also made us get rid of any additional skins. We’ve already collected for characters.
Not true. I have every single skin I got in OW1 in OW2
I have PC Overwatch . I don't have the computer for it , and now I'll never get to play it . 😢
3:57 - 5:19 The 4th time they tried to REDEEM THE FRANCHISE 😱😱
I still play Star Craft 2 every day.
That’s a story worth playing over and over. Much like the early _Warcraft_ and _Diablo_ games.
Is what you described Disney Infinity doing not exactly what Skylanders did? 😂
As soon as I heard that Overwatch 2 was going to be free to play, I knew it was over
I loved Evolve 2 and I would play it if they would open the servers again. I hope that someday there is a Evolve 3.
The 1st evolve was AMAZING everyone just wanted to crap all over it for no reason. It was literally ruined by gamers.
Maybe BattleBorn should have gotten a second chance when Overwatch 2 was released? But I guess it would not have made much difference by that time
Good list 🎮
Evolve was an amazing game shame it never got a large enough pkayer base
6:45 he just saw 🤑 and believed he could milk the fans
It really didn't help Shenmue that Yakuza is everything Shenmue does only better.
Can I add Lords of the Fallen 2023? I know it's getting a sequel and the reboot was a success apparently, but I found the game being worse than the 2014 one. It just a lot of great ideas that were executed really bad
Where is the second chance for Avengers?
Leave shenmue alone!!! They had $5 compared to 100 million dollar games today. I liked it.
Shenmue 3 bothers me the most. Not that I'd been waiting for the game necessarily but to actually get a new game and a chance close the story only for them to choose not to was disappointing. The absolutely awful and dated gameplay only made it worse, as if they actually thought that what they were delivering would sell enough to justify any additional games.
Medal of Honor should've gone back to its roots. Imagine how all these games are modern or sci-fi. Then here comes Medal of Honor in 2012 to remind people that older wars can be exciting as well. It had been years since we had a great FPS that didn't take place in the 21st century and beyond. But they didn't. Instead it was up to Battlefield 1 to do that (and look how popular that ended up being).
I like Lego dimensions you could team up Mr t with a Ghostbusters
I hope someone does a total redo of the Avengers game from top to bottom cause it seems to have promise it just failed cause of the story and the long wait for dlc and all of the microtransactions
I feel a little bad that Battleborn never found much success. I've played the game and I honestly thought it was a lot of fun and had a bunch of gameplay mechanics that made the game unique. Sadly it could never get out of the Overwatch's shadow. Ironic given the current state of Overwatch.
Some of this did not even go through a revival..nust a downward spiral to death
Alone in the Dark 2024 wasn't amazing, but it's the best version released
Yeah I stopped playing overwatch 2 mainly because it felt like my was going to overheat from just being on it for only a few minutes. Really hope Blizzard decides to bring the original as Overwatch classic like they did with WoW.
I don't get the hate between Overwatch and Overwatch 2. The lack of the Story Mode was disappointing, with [admittedly limited] the time I spent between the two it seems like the exact same game but with a handful of changes. It was even free. I just don't get why it's a big deal that they shut down the original when they were making what amounts to an expansion in OW2. They'd never support that original had they left it open.
I still played some of these games
Yeah, you would play some of these games, bobert
Roadhouse
Fable 3, shin megami tensei vengeance, and advent rising
My biggest problem with GH Live was its offline mode was pretty much filled with nothing but Pop tracks. Sure that's fine I don't mind Pop, but as an actual guitarist, the problem is Pop is too boring to play
7. It's still not as bad as the last two games that came before this one.
5. Something similar also happened with Forspoken's writing. Which sounds and feels like it was written by out-of-touch millennials trying way too hard to be cool.
3. But I love the Guitar Hero series! It's doing what other mainstream media isn't doing. Opening rock and metal to new audiences.
2. The item shop was also bugged in such a way that it bought items for you without your permission. And at the end of the day, this was just an inferior update that players didn't want that was forced upon them. When the only way you can get players to play your game is at gunpoint, IT'S NOT GONNA BE WELL LIKED! AT AT!
The people who did guitar hero are also doing the fortnite festival it’s actually really good but we need an original standalone brand new guitar hero
My problem with some games you have to get the playstation plus buy thing, amd that's stupid.
Turok absolutely failed at reviving itself. The original trilogy was good for the time, then Evolution came out and was completely broken. Then the revive happened, but it wasn't anywhere near what Turok originally was.
The new medal of honors were fantastic the public just didn't like the original name of the opfor
Yeah I was embarrassed to be a saints row fan when the "reboot" was close to being released that entire promotion and PR was not helping at all. I'm glad I still haven't bought the game
RIP overwatch, we had great times together
5:25 there's a 3rd one.
Honestly Disney infinity hurts me personally because the game as lots and lots of potential but of course they shut down sometime…
Even though Disney Infinity failed after it was discontinued we still carry the figures in our shelfs or who knows what?
We’re disappointed, and there were so many other characters they could’ve included.
I really like some of these games and had fun playing them too. I really like the new alone in the dark game and I probably like the saint row reboot game, love the saints row game. I like new saints row game more then saints row 4.
At least Lego Dimensions knew when to stop because WB understood that if they kept going, they’d suffer like Disney Infinity, I’ll definitely give Lego Dimensions credit for knowing when to stop before it was too late.
As for Shenmue it wasn’t meant to be a trilogy, it was supposed to last for long as five or six games, because it was to have 16 chapters.
At least I still have my _Disney Infinity_ toys, and I plan on buying the ones I never bought.
Just Why was battleborn a live service game? 😭
RIP Dead Space
do wish for disney infinity instead of making new versions should've had stuck to one version updating it(going off amiibos route of just having it be playable without them but get unlockables if used.) & tbh should've focused on older/other parts of disney rather than their recently bought licenses with the huge library of the past series they have that would've been better than shoving recent series especially not seeing if they're good 1st.
shenmue 3 really should've been the end of the story as nothing gets accomplished/had the problem of not improving the archaic flaws of the originals.(if it ever does return love it to either be integrated into yakuza which pretty much took it's concept improving it to the modern day or even go into virtua fighter with how alongside vf not having too much of a story shenmue originally was going to star the characters from it.)
if you want my honest opinion, BLIZZARD should've given Overwatch a damn story mode, rather than an online battle sim and stuff, from the beginning when they released the first one in 2016, that included it's sequel, but nooooo, they chose to keep the same thing like from the first one, and wasted their chance by constantly releasing character trailers, with awesome cinematics, instead, guess they screwed that one from the get go, I mean, what was the point in releasing a game, with no story modes for those two?
the new saints row woulda been recieved a lot better if it wasnt tied to that ip and was its own thing IMO
We know that _Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League_ won’t get a second chance, and it would fail if it did.
I was crushed with the lies overwatch 2 promised
10:13 - 11:26 😣 Ouch
Saying Overwatch 2 is dead is disingenuous. The game is doing just fine and new players are still joining. Game is still fun
I’ve always thought big PVE was a bad decision, so I’m okay with it never becoming a thing. Maybe that could be a separate game in the future (or animated series)
ok out of all of the games please bring guitar hero back it was awesome. The other games glad they ended
I won't say that Disney Infinity was a success but it wasn't a failure either it had a strong fan base and engaging stories with a sandbox area to create anything they wanted it was just getting crowded in the Toys to Life genre so Disney pulled the plug on it to save themselves the embarrassment of doing it later and it's not as if the figures were cheap to buy or make but the others on this list totally agree with what your saying
I was beginning to like those games, especially having a collection of those toys.
When I saw saints row. I was like nope
King of fighters
Sad bout alone in the dark the original games are aweose, the PS1 game is good, this new one is good, but they should have polished the gameplay a lil more,😢
MOH was good. It could have survived well
Evolve was really not a bad game.
People who say Overwatch 2 are people who play Overwatch but bandwagon hate it for internet clout
If it weren't so easy to die, Avengers would be a lot better
If Activision weren't so greedy, they'd just reset and re-release Overwatch without season passes and all the FTP crap no one likes over the age of 16. They chased the Fortnite crowd and got made to look foolish. But...FTP makes money, so no matter how much gamers hate it, kids love free shit.
The Avengers take is a huge reach and a big L for you guys. It never got a "second chance". It was only out for 3 years before the devs decides to shut it down. It was and still is a great game. Great story, fun characters. There just wasn't enough characters to keep us truly happy. I kept waiting for Doctor Strange and Scarlett Witch to play as, and to fight against Thanos. Sadly it never happened and I really hope we see another Avengers game in the future
Borderlands 3 in all likelihood killed the borderlands franchise. Diablo 4 might not kill Blizzard, but it certainly brutalized the series and it's longtime fans.
Maybe game developers should leave "Alone in the Dark" alone.....in the dark
Mortal Kombat 1 in my opinion failed. It released too early and it got boring very quick.
Evolve failed to evolve.
I think Alone in the Dark is better off being left alone.
Shenmue 3 may have done better if it released sooner and gave us a satisfying conclusion.
I'm bummed that Saints Row crashed and burned. I would like to have adventures on an alien planet like one of the endings in Gat out of Hell.
Guitar Hero may have lasted longer if it was just a yearly thing.
Blizzard should have left the first Overwatch playable instead of screwing over their fans. Overwatch shouldn't have gotten Game of the Year if it wasn't going to last.
Saints Row V would've been a reality if it wasn't for Disgraceful Group. That company is being run by 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡! They need to go bankrupt and go away and sell the IP to Sega or Back to their OG Developers which they found a new company called Shapeshifter Games as they're currently working on Clockwork Revolution.
Marvel avengers did get better you people just don’t know what you are talking about the story was a part of the game people enjoyed for starters and it’s expansions the online stuff was not great at launch but they fixed it same with bugs and issues the only reason it was shut down is because square enix did not want to keep funding it if they did tho the game would have gotten better and better
Why have 3 separate comments instead of just a long one?
@@Daniel-nn8mr As well as all three being some of the worst takes. Aaron has godawful taste in games.
Halo Infinite
I honestly enjoyed Saints Row reboot but understand why other people hated it
If you ever played mad world on Wii to Anarchy reigns later on 360. You'd know how painful and awful that platinum games screwed up by removing the ability to use the environment to kill, it's just crappy animations for its "sequel" that also mainly consist of melee. Mad World was brutal but really creative. More people should have played it even if it's short. It used the time well and I still haven't seen a game like it, besides games like God hand and No more heroes. All of which deserved more attention. I still wish at least Anarchy reigns stuck to the original idea. It's just a disappointing reboot that nudered and killed a potential excellent franchise. Nintendo better remaster it or something, instead of making another switch playing safe. Shame Sega ain't making consoles anymore. Just ugly PCs, Xbox fridges, pope ps5s, and switches that forgot what backwards compatibly is. Now we pay for service off of said servers via subscriptions. How did we lose so much integrity and innovation. I just want decent stuff is all. We pay up for so much of these things and pay bills. It's awful and it's sadly reality I guess.
