These kinds of issues are, unfortunately, rather common for this line. I'm still looking forward to receiving mine, but hearing he pops apart is a little frustrating. Still agree with you the aesthetics look fantastic.
Thanks for confirming. I'm sure you'll still like it. I was just having a lot of trouble getting it into action poses. Could also just be me with inexperience handling Bring Arts figures, though.
Love the review❤ The figure quality is not what I expect with the price. I have ordered tifa and sephiroth. Now I am wonder if I should collect them all.
Thanks so much. You'll probably still like them. I was just having a lot of trouble with the legs when posing it for the pictures at the end of this video.
Great review! Heartbreaking when I saw the legs fall off, especially since mine is on its way. I've got the Bring Arts KH Cloud and have never had that issue but have heard many people complain about it. Its a shame because we've waited so long for a proper iteration of 1/12 scale figures from this game and it seems like its a flop. Regardless I've been a fan at this point for so long that I can look passed it despite the price point being a giant ripoff for the quality. At the end of the day personally if its between having no FF7 figures in this scale or having them with this quality, I'll take the loss and get them anyway..
I love the aesthetics with this line, but my cloud had the same issue with the legs popping off easily. It’s a similar issue I have with another bring arts figure, so it’s unfortunate that we continue to see a high price point, but not the best qc with this brand. Hoping sh figuarts is able to get the dragon quest stuff at least.
The fact that he has so few accessories despite costing so much more than past Bring Arts figures is a bummer. They could have at least included 1 or 2 alternate heads. On the plus side, he looks great! Almost 100% identical to the original PS1 artwork.
Have you tried to put a piece of paper in those sockets so they won't pop off? The other method that could work is that first you pop off the legs and put a drop of super glue on those balljoints. This makes them slightly thicker so they fill the sockets better and then those legs won't pop off.
@@PlasticLyfeNo problem. Aesthetically this figure looks great. Those qc issues are a big bummer especially when these are so expensive but luckily loose balljoints are usually easy to fix. I agree with you when you said that you would rather have figure joints pop off than actually break. Most joints break because they are too tight. It's safe to say this figure doesn't have that problem. I have this figure pre ordered and since i have always wanted 1/12 scale ff7 figures i can look past this minor flaw. If this problem starts to annoy me i put some paper in those sockets and it will probably be fine. I hope Tifa and Aerith won't suffer from this.
On your first comment, the imports especially Figuarts are true 1:12 scale. The ML ones are mostly comic based characters and not true to 1:12 but as comic proportions are debatable it cannot be argued, also you can observe that the MCU figures stand less tall compared to the comic based figures.
When I saw these figures I was super hyped because getting the original 1997 designs is nowhere to be found. Basically never made. So Am feeling like these are the only option because I do not want anything remake/dissidia/KH related. I am only interested in what is based on the original game. Would gave preffered them to be a little bigger and from the looks of it a little sturdier. But I am a big fan on the Revoltech Hokuto No Ken figures and this seems to be the same size so getting the complete set of these would look good. If they were all bigger I would have probably settled for only a few. Good review, appreciate it!
Don't have the figure yet. Despite the fig falling apart from its joints, I will still get it. It'll be frustrating at some point, I understand, but just like you said, I rather have a fig fall off its joints than having it break apart. Now, the price point for the figure is another story because the Bring Arts FF Tactics are priced lower than this. Probably, it's based on the popularity of the characters and what not? I mean, what do I know? Anyway, thanks for the detailed review of the figure!
No problem. After playing with the figure a bit more, you'll get used to manipulating the upper leg to avoid popping the legs off. I think you'll still enjoy it
@PlasticLyfe I was watching my son play with his toy figures and my old ones that I gave him. Falls apart numerous times, not that he's rough with it, but it doesn't bother him. He puts it back on the look on his face the joy and happiness, the innocence that I guess every child have, that once upon a time, we have. My point is that the fun in collecting figures it's fun! As an adult, yes, we've become more aware of all the intricate details, i.e., price point qc etc. And sometimes it takes away the "fun" factor to some degree. I was like that, that's why I kind of stopped collecting and learned to appreciate other collector's collection. The hiatus that I took from collecting is somewhat an educational journey, and I'm glad that I took it. Thank you for the reply it means so much. You are the only one who responded on my comment. Keep collecting!
Also, another thing that drove up the prices for this figure and the other characters released in the line is the inclusion of NFT Certificates of Authenticity. That made me angry, and I just don't see the appeal of NFTs. It's a waste of money.
Damn. I don't normally pose my figures that much so I'm pretty confident this won't happen to me. But what if I decide to pose it then it pops off? Bummer. :(
Ya it's annoying, just move the legs slow and make sure there's some clearance between the legs and crotch piece. At least if they pop off, you can put it back together.
Think about this way. Atleast those joints are not overly tight so you have lower chance to actually break your figure. I'd say 90% of action figure joints breaking is because they are overly tight. You can also put a small piece of paper in those sockets so it gives the joint more friction and stops those legs popping off. Super glue also works well with balljoints and some people use floor polish but i have only used paper and glue. Usually paper method is sufficient.
Hey I was looking into getting this figure tho I was unsure because Cloud is my favorite FF character and i love the old school art. The pre order link disapeared for me however if it has this many QC issues I can't justify tracking it down or paying that high price. Really sucks cause this was a figure I was looking forward to. Would you still recommend me getting this Cloud or trying for a Cloud of a different line and if so, which one?
Hey, thanks for your comment. This is probably the best representation of Cloud in this scale. If you're not into crazy dynamic poses, and prefer to just set him up on the shelf, then I do recommend this figure. I was just having a tough time getting him into fighting poses. Also, since he's your favorite FF character, then I would recommend getting this figure.
@@PlasticLyfe ahh I do like Toy photography and taking very dynamic poses. However with your word I’ll put it back in rotation. I gotta get the money to spare for this
@@PlasticLyfe where did you get yours from and how long did it take you to get it? I’m seeing the pre orders say December however the release date says March?
The figure looks an Alpha Max model kit because the eyes being decals and the skin and hair being flat. I legit want to know where Square Enix is getting $100-$150 dollar price when Mafex, Figmas and Figuarts cost a lot less and you get a lot more. It’s certainly not licensing fees because they control their own IP.
Probably because they don't allow other companies to make FF figures. Square definitely holds a monopoly on these and knows people have to go through them to get FF7 figures, so they charge accordingly.
Thanks for the review. Was looking forward to this for a long time and wasn’t sure how to justify the cost but the face sculpt itself, not to mention all the other issues you highlight, make this unfortunately a hard pass. Can he even hold the sword in two hands? You don’t pose him like that in this video so I’m wondering. Without poseability he’s just an expensive statue. Nowhere near worth the exorbitant price tag!!
Thanks so much. Ya unfortunately with the lack of butterfly joints, it's difficult to hold the sword with 2 hands. It can be done but doesn't look natural.
@@PlasticLyfe whaaat! So he can barely do his signature pose? That’s insane. I’d rather have no 1/12 Cloud figure than pay for this one. Very hard pass! It fails on every count - scale, looks (the face), articulation, accessories, fun. A real shame! Thanks for saving me almost 200 bucks…
I got two of these figures, one for playing around with and toy photography while the other is still in the box for display. I must admit that this figure is not very fun to pose. I tried doing some dynamic poses that I would picture Cloud actually doing, but getting him to hold those poses is a pain due to loose joints and poorly engineered articulation. When it comes to Square Enix action figures, they are always skimping out when it comes to weapons and accessories. I know from experience after getting a lot of the old Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and Dragon Quest Play Arts figures from the mid-2000s. If you're a big Cloud fan, you'll probably still like it. Just have to focus when moving the legs 🤣 really nice sculpt though. I'm not sure we have a better representation of Cloud in this scale.
Bring Arts are far from the best example of Japanese import figures. They certainly can't be compared to the likes of Figma, for example. Bring Arts seem to have this on-going issue with their figures easily falling apart. The figure itself though, looks brilliant. I'd much rather buy these at their price, over anything like a cheap Marvel legends figure. ✊
The one thing that absolutely pisses me off about Square Enix stuff is the ones they advertise NEVER look like the product you receive. The face sculpts are never what they show and it's a big problem with the PAK stuff and now seeing this vs. product shots it's the same thing.

what the hell... I had to cancel my Guts preorder because according to dozens of reviews they break easily, now cloud? What the crap is up with these 100$ figures falling apart while 35% s.h. figuarts goku hold together perfectly?
Playarts are super overpriced and now so are the bring arts lol. I loved my kh bringarts cloud. A shame these are so expensive nor for 1/12 figures that arent even close to as good as mafex or figma. Not that figma deserves its price anymore these days .
Square Enix horrible qc strikes yet again 😭😭😭 this is and the Sephiroth will be the very last figure i buy from them. I'm disappointed but not to say it wasnt expected
Bring arts really get on my nerves with this one m. Finally a good looking 1/12 cloud and it’s filmsy overpriced and has very little accessories I wish they would lose the right to make figures but from what I understand they can’t
What a disappointment. This figure is a straight-up piece of shit. Square somehow managed to make a figure with worse QC and overall engineering than an almost twenty-year-old Play Arts figure. It honestly wouldn’t be so bad if the damn thing wasn’t $100 of loose wrists and bad articulation wrapped in a package containing a single accessory-two, if you want to be delusional and call the bolt that pegs the buster sword into his back an accessory lol. I think the worst part is that they’re scaling these figures down for some inexplicable reason. Thank you for making this video. Just opened mine up and needed to confirm that I wasn’t going insane.
Huge pass for QC issues + high pricing. Thanks for the sacrifice and review

Nice figure but its way over priced
crap quality
Cool figure, WILDLY overpriced
Ya crazy for how little you get
shitty articulation and terrible quality control, for over $120 this shit is just mediocre. Not even SHF has that many issues with their figs...
