I’m still impressed that in both Remake and Rebirth, they stayed faithful to 99% of the enemy designs, even the goofy, ridiculous ones and nearly all of them are here. If this doesn’t prove the developers are as passionate about OG FFVII as we are, then I don’t know what does.
Tankceratops (15:06) and Golem (15:54) are the 1%
The only monsters they left out was the dude on the swinging blade and the woman in the bikini
The devs and the musicians are the real heroes

@@montyl.8232I am curious as to why those two didn’t show up, especially the blade dude who shows up in the mansion. Though the bikini girl I’m pretty sure does show up in later parts as well

Insane amount of monster really. This is what games need to do, and not just recycle with just 5 models
now consider the OG game had alot more..this is just the ones in Rebirth..but theres the enemies in Remake..and the ones coming in the 3rd game....we use to get 3 games with of content in 1 game..no wonder it was on 3 disks..with great pacing too.
@86lanzo for modern standard I would already say the devs broke out of the norm. That's how bad and low our standards and expectations are already.
Even monsters which could've been easily a color swap, they still took great care to give some differentiation. Thanks to this video I just noticed that Heatseeker and Poison Cap's... well, cap, is actually distinct.

Love watching it with my kid nephews and letting them wow at how much graphics have improved over the years. The current artists did such a great job translating OG artists' creativity with brand new coat of paint.

All the models have such awesome animations and gives them tons of personality.

It’s gonna be hard to beat for all 3 categories, but seems like stellar blade could give it a run. You never know. Remake should’ve won GoY in 2020 over Last2 imo.
@@4o4FoundingTitan remake certainly deserved to win in 2020, now with rebirth It would be incredible to win all three categories, I'm really rooting for it.
They cheaped out though. Added WAY to many mandatory minigames that outstayed their welcome more often than not. Felt like annoying mood breakers every time, amd they were obvious time sinks to draw out an embarrassingly short main quest line. And they completely botched Ancient City and Aerith’s death - the one part that had to be absolute perfection. I will never forgive them for that.

26:22 Im was so hyped to finally see Bizarro Sephiroth in modern fidelity and a game earlier than i expected to! Makes me wonder if Bizarro will be replaced with a different form since they already covered it in this game?
Wouldn't be surprised if the old final form of seph acts as the replacement and we get a new final form as the actual last battle.
there's still another form of sephiroth though "safer sephiroth" his coolest one imo and the hardest one because of the supernova move.

Looking at Sephiroth reborn it’s interesting noticing that it looks vaguely like a corrupted version of Emerald Weapon

They removed the rare implanted animals but they add stylish straps and golden bracelets out of nowhere to a savage transformation of vincent...
They could of made an excuse and said it was a shinra experiment but no they had to ruin the design and make it boring.. 😔

Absolutely Phenomenal job on the enemy designs. This is one way these games are true remakes..They kept the essence of the OG games enemies. But expanded and added to the enemies in meaningful ways without losing what the enemies were..

I remember back when the original was out, I would look at the art in the case and the manual and think "Wow, one day games will look that good" and now games look many many times better than even that.
Makes me so excited to see what they do with stuff like Hojo in part 3. His monster design was crazy in the OG

It really is interest the direction they took with their designs in rebirth compared to what we thought in original.

One of my first final fantasy games ever and I’m mad I’ve never played this when I was young it’s such an awesome game and definitely game of the year!!!!
Kinda sad that i played through the entire game & feel like this is the first time actually being able to see any of these models. With all the camera movement, menus and particle effects I almost never knew what was going on in battles :(

They didn't have all the enemies in Rebirth so I hope they have some iteration of them in the next game like Jemnezmy, the swinging axe guy in Manor (Ghiralgo?) and the Mirage (mirrors)
All this time, I thought the materia guardian had spikes, not fur. Considering the context, I am glad it did.

They really kept the charm of the old designs, so cool ! Those designs were already good but they gave them so much depth now.
did anyone talk about the fact that the final boss in the original (minus one-wings angel form) is the final boss in Rebirth, being the 2nd part of the trilogy? Sephiroth isn't even "awake" yet and still "dormant" in the Northern Cave... did Sephiroth brought Bizarro Sephy / Sephy Reborn from an alternate but future world?

@@diiou you can't battle the Unknowns until you get the submarine and visit the Sunken Gelnika. That's being adapted in the 3rd game.

What is up with the backdrop. Its the location of the menu design, but where is this really in the game? part of the temple of ancients?
The Grangalan is honestly really impressive; they were fighting an uphill battle to not make that thing look utterly ridiculous and they really did well on it

I cannot tell you how astounded I was when I saw "Matryoshka Doll With Googly Eyes" actually made it to Rebirth. And they gave it a logical visual update!

Nope. The Weapons will be a major plot point in 3 as they now house the Huge Materia.
Well Emerald and Ruby are OG disc 2 bosses and Rebirth ends at the end of OG disc 1
The weapons are gonna be a boss in part 3. But rebirth does have a super boss.

It takes the whole game to unlock him. His unlock path is nuts. And that fight is crazy.
They only start moving around once Sephiroth summons meteor, we’ve only gotten to the Aerith-kabob.
