I’m still impressed that in both Remake and Rebirth, they stayed faithful to 99% of the enemy designs, even the goofy, ridiculous ones and nearly all of them are here. If this doesn’t prove the developers are as passionate about OG FFVII as we are, then I don’t know what does.

now consider the OG game had alot more..this is just the ones in Rebirth..but theres the enemies in Remake..and the ones coming in the 3rd game....we use to get 3 games with of content in 1 game..no wonder it was on 3 disks..with great pacing too.
Even monsters which could've been easily a color swap, they still took great care to give some differentiation. Thanks to this video I just noticed that Heatseeker and Poison Cap's... well, cap, is actually distinct.

They cheaped out though. Added WAY to many mandatory minigames that outstayed their welcome more often than not. Felt like annoying mood breakers every time, amd they were obvious time sinks to draw out an embarrassingly short main quest line. And they completely botched Ancient City and Aerith’s death - the one part that had to be absolute perfection. I will never forgive them for that.

Absolutely Phenomenal job on the enemy designs. This is one way these games are true remakes..They kept the essence of the OG games enemies. But expanded and added to the enemies in meaningful ways without losing what the enemies were.. the designers and animators did a brilliant job

Heavy tank (triceratops tank) was the worst recreation. I was hoping to see it in full. A messed up Hojo experiment. Also super disappointed about them not including naked chandelier guy
Ghirofelgo at least seemed tricky to make work on a logistics level, since he just swings from one rope in the original. (Unless they went with something like sledgeworm and added ropes through the whole battle area, I guess?) This, though... This is a downgrade. They could have at LEAST turned it into a shinra robot that's built to LOOK like a triceratops or something, instead of a rhino-pig with horns. (It's not even a bad enemy monster idea! It's just not a weird ass tank dinosaur.)
I use to gripe about the change in art direction because I liked crisis core/Advent children look so much. But the new designs look great with the rest of the world design
They didn't have all the enemies in Rebirth so I hope they have some iteration of them in the next game like Jemnezmy, the swinging axe guy in Manor (Ghiralgo?) and the Mirage (mirrors)

Well remaking and even removing things in the remake of an older game is like the bare minimum of making a remake of a game. Recreate the older things they want to bring back, removing things that they don't see necessary in the remake. I mean like, that's the whole point of a remake lol.

For scaling purposes. The Red dragon is much more accurate his original size but he’s a boss. What they should have done is make the green dragon bigger and make it the nibelheim territory supreme beast instead of the zu or whatever it was.
Why'd they swap HellRider 1 & 2's leg count around? Like the first one was fused to the bike and the second was a knight on a mount and they swapped it around in the remake for no reason. Also the Heavytank's re-imagining I'm sort of not a fan of at all. I wonder why they changed that enemy so much...
I have zero knowledge of where these enemies are encountered in _Rebirth,_ but I presume they aren't far from where they were found in the OG. Assuming that, the likeliest explanation might be to better fit them into the environment(s) and/or lore. For example: 1.) Devil ride makes far more sense as either a) a fairly normal _Mad Max_ style desert gang, or b) a completely mechanical Shinra construct, than it does some random cyborg entity of unknown origin roaming the wastes outside Midgar. Option "a" was clearly chosen. 2.) Hell rider is apparently two organic entities, so fusing them as a demonstration of mako/lab horror-or even just to show the "alien-ness" of the world-is a convenient visual. 3.) Heavy tank is a variation of devil ride, in that there's no real reason for what amounts to a cyborg dinosaur to exist at all, let alone where it's encountered. Visiting Gongaga is optional in the OG and has no real plot relevance, making heavy tank's existence largely pointless beyond comedic value. This would also explain Palmer being replaced by a robot, as that fits better with the OG theme of Company Board members/department heads utilizing them (see: proud clod).

Wouldn't be surprised if the old final form of seph acts as the replacement and we get a new final form as the actual last battle.
there's still another form of sephiroth though "safer sephiroth" his coolest one imo and the hardest one because of the supernova move.

Nope. The Weapons will be a major plot point in 3 as they now house the Huge Materia.
Well Emerald and Ruby are OG disc 2 bosses and Rebirth ends at the end of OG disc 1
The weapons are gonna be a boss in part 3. But rebirth does have a super boss.
